Hi, anyone go the code yet, as I just got mine, a 9 digit code which does not work. The Ameo appears to only want 8 digits, so I tried the last 8 as the first digit appears a little different to the others, none work.
The number TM give in the letter for problems is out of order, and a patronising women on 150 is about as much use as tits on a frog.
Any one able to post (or PM) me the code you got so I can compare and see if any combo of mine will work.
Also, anyone know how many attempts are allowed, I am up to 3 so far and the TM letter says you should only make 3....
As far as I'm aware, unlock codes for any phone are linkd to your IMEI so will be no generic code that will unlock your phone.
Persevere through 150, speak to supervisors, team leaders, managers scream, shout etc.
Try and get them now whle they can still help, you can get your arse they're not gonna help if you lock out the phone by using more attempts than they tell you to.
Sure, I understand that they are specific, just want to know if other people got 8 digit or 9 digit.
Am doing the other stuff, am am awaiting a call back from the directors office now.

I got a code with 8 digits.
Still waiting...
Hi,
I'm still waiting for my code. Can anyone tell me how long they waited for their T-Mobile UK unlock code?
When it comes I'll let you know how it works......
Cheers,
Steve
Thanks for the comments, I phoned the head office number given on www.saynoto0870.com and was put through to the Directors office.
A nice lady said "oh, the unlock team sit right next to me" let me call you back.
She did so a few mins later and we discovered that the code I was given had an extra digit in the middle and once we knew this I waited for the device to come back and ask for the code, and all was well.
So we at least know you can have 4 attempts without a problem.
Oh, the code came by post in a T-Mobile envelope and took about 3 weeks.

hey guys, in a bit of a pickle here so would appreciate some advice.
Last week i called tmobile, and requested an unlock code for my mda and today ive finally recieved a letter with instructions to unlock.
I've followed them religiously, and yes the imei on the letter does match my own, so let's see :
1. Turn phone on with non tmobile sim (done with vodafone)
2. Phone will state network locked , enter the code : ********** which is a match for your imei
3. The phone will acknowledge the simlock is removed and then reboot your phone and it will be unlocked.
The problem is, that instead of lettting me enter the code right away , i get : You've tried 5 times - wait til timeout! and yet i dont recall ever trying more than once! :?: :?:
So i wait til the timeout (this was my 4th shot) and entered the code to find there isnt enough room in the character box to enter all digits of the code, i can only enter around 11 of the 14 of them.
So foolishly i thought meh, entered the entire code despite realising it wouldnt take the last 3 digits and then another shot wasted so now ive got You've Tried 5 times, and the timeout is like 10 minutes
I cannot afford to keep getting this wrong, and do not understand why this is not working. Anybody out there got any ideas:
This is the code (DONT TRY IT ON YOUR OWN MDA WITH FALSE HOPE, IT's IMEI GENERATED) i was just wondering if anyone could see why it wont take the full code:
0050486*** the last three stars dont fit into the simlock app box!
Really am desperate guys. On the bottom of the letter it mentions in smallprint (do not attempt to un simlock this phone more than three times) but as i havent, and yet it somehow clocks three attempts, it's not my fault!
Any help is much appreciated via post, PM or IM
not unlocking with code off t-mobile
had same problem
you dont enter the 000s at the beginning of the code
so code fits in then
t-mobile should tell you this but dont
had to work it out myself
ok

Hey guys i'm new at this... But the topic here is the same as my problem. I've recently just got a SoftBank X01HT Jp Did the following as instructed -Downgrade-radio-ROM. All went well, after a few mistakes. But when i placed a sim it showed Simlock and mine shows you've tried 25 times. how long would that take? Is there another way? I tried waiting for 24 hours & still nothing. =(
Please help...
After countless hours on the phone with Bell, I finally talked to a supervisor who authorized the release of the code and I was charged the 75$ fee, except that the code DOES NOT WORK.
they told me to call Samsung , Samsung said that they have nothing to do with the unlock codes and that they are handled by the carrier.
So now I really dont understand what the problem is.
I called Bell technical support and they are telling me to enter my sim card pin. obviously they have no clue. I'm thinking about returning it but i dont know if they will refund the 75$ since they already gave me a code.
they told me to try putting 8 zeros : 00000000 before the code or 6. nothing works.
any ideas ?
they BSed you, it can NEVER be just a bunch of ZEROES
call back and give them hell
i've worked on cell phone stores before, unlocking phones and stuff, there have never been a unlock code like that for any phone.
the code is not all zeros, they advise to put 8 x 0 and then the 8-digit code they provided. but still nothing works.

ok, that sounds more like it.
well, if the code is not working, then you have to contact Bell back, since they charged you the money, they have to make sure it is unlocked
either that or get a full refund, if they are being uncooperative
If you need an unlock.

it took 15 mins
3 minutes to get through the machine
2 minutes for me to tell her my hd7 is asking for a code
2 minute for her to generate the code
8 minutes for her to tell methe code and for me to enter it in my phone.
I called and got a code but it is not working? I get an error saying activation code not valid, but am 100% sure I got the key correct as I had the person on the phone repeat several times while I wrote it down.
The Microsoft rep. told me up front that if it doesn't work it's a technical issue with the phone and sounded suprised when I told her "it worked" (had no signal).
"About phone" says HD7, Any ideas? Should I assume the key is wrong or is the authenication on the phone when I'm connecting not validating me as a genuine device?

have you edited your "hd7"s registry?
if you had, and i quote "no signal" theres another issue at hand. You need to be on wifi or have celuar data service enabled.

You have the do the registry edits to change your model into a hd7... there are tutorials all over the forum about it.
Actually i was going to call mc today or yesterday but after playing with the w7 os i wasnt pleased ANDROID pwns w7 so no need to call them or anything have fun while i enjoy with the best os on my HD2
Just called Microsoft to get an activation key and was able to get one without any trouble.
An interesting thing happened while I was speaking with the rep. He was able to tell I was using an HTC phone by my phone number....which he requested a number of times while he figured out what to do. It didn't seem to hinder the process at all on his end though.
There was a very serious article about the activation of HD2's running WP7 on pocketnow. They wrote that MS can detect that your phone isn't a real WP7 handset and that it's a crime to do it and all. I unflashed WP7 for that very reason. Would hate to be in some sh*t from MS!
i`m HD2 WP7 user in CHINA
can you help me get a Activition Code?
PM me please

nope...i called them bout the activation code FROM my HD2 with WP7...plus with the registry tweaks your HD2 isn't an HD2 anymore its an HD7 and on their computer they are receiving a call from an HD7 for all they know...and plus the rep I talked to knew what my problem was right when I said WP7, I'm implying she knew I was using an HD7.
Also if I sign into my t-mobile account, it will say my phone is an HD7
I've been looking through the forums and people have mentioned activation limits. I'm planning on installing WP7 to have a play around, but I can see myself going back to 6.5 if it's not what I was expecting. My main concern is that if I use the activation code a couple of times for my HD2, will it stop me from activation my Live account from a future phone if I decide to get a WP7 phone later down the line? Is the code linked to the phone or my personal Live account?
Let me know if that makes no sense, my HD2 contract is coming up for renewal soon and I don't want to screw myself if I decide to upgrade my phone.
Thanks!
i believe when you buy a phone wit pre-installed windows phone 7 you should not have any difficulties with activation codes. live services should activate automaticly

With the new phone I dont think so. It should be OK. But besides that - create new live id and activate it with this one. Than you could be sure...
whoops double post. something went wrong
No problem as long as you get an activation code first. Its only an activation code for the market place Xboxlive etc. You can use the key 3 times only.
But if you get a HD7 on a contract, then it will come unlocked with all the O2 operator stuff pre-loaded.

It's a good question. Doubt you will have an issue. Pre-installed usually means no code required. I don't get why you would spend money on a WP7 when you have an HD2? I keep hearing 7 runs smoother than anything else, as if it was native.
i was told to keep the key safely when requesting it via the support hotline, because it is necessary e.g. i hardreset my "hd7".
he even told me that if i lose it one phone call is enough to request the same key again. so you can definitely use it mulitple times.
I understood the activation limit was a device activation limit, so multiple activations on the same device would be fine and largely limitless.
May have read that wrongly though...
If you reach the limit, can you just ring up and request a new code?
Guys let me clear this out! Can i use my activation key 3 times only??? Or several times??? 3 times only sucks!!!!

I didnt reach my limit, but when I accidentally pulled my sd card, and had to do a complete reflash (is that even a word?) I realised I didnt save my original activation code. So I called Microsoft back up, hoping it would work. I told the guy what happened, even told him it was an HD2 running WP7, he said ok, give me one moment. 2 minutes later, I get my second activation code. If this was twitter I would totally put Win with a # in front of it.
Ok, tried several times to get an activation code with no luck. Out of curiosity I called Microsoft again this afternoon and decided to be honest and ask for the code again, she asked
Q-phone model= HTC HD2
Q-IME No - told her my hd2 one
Q-Provider= TMobile
Q-HOME PHONE NUMBER=Told her my real UK number
She then said have you got a pen and paper and then gave me the code, she even asked if I wanted her to wait on the phone while I make sure it works.
Put in code and fantastic, it worked.
Not only you, Quite a few people have been doing so and got their Codes.
Come on, We all know. Microsoft wants us
