hey guys, in a bit of a pickle here so would appreciate some advice.
Last week i called tmobile, and requested an unlock code for my mda and today ive finally recieved a letter with instructions to unlock.
I've followed them religiously, and yes the imei on the letter does match my own, so let's see :
1. Turn phone on with non tmobile sim (done with vodafone)
2. Phone will state network locked , enter the code : ********** which is a match for your imei
3. The phone will acknowledge the simlock is removed and then reboot your phone and it will be unlocked.
The problem is, that instead of lettting me enter the code right away , i get : You've tried 5 times - wait til timeout! and yet i dont recall ever trying more than once! :?: :?:
So i wait til the timeout (this was my 4th shot) and entered the code to find there isnt enough room in the character box to enter all digits of the code, i can only enter around 11 of the 14 of them.
So foolishly i thought meh, entered the entire code despite realising it wouldnt take the last 3 digits and then another shot wasted so now ive got You've Tried 5 times, and the timeout is like 10 minutes
I cannot afford to keep getting this wrong, and do not understand why this is not working. Anybody out there got any ideas:
This is the code (DONT TRY IT ON YOUR OWN MDA WITH FALSE HOPE, IT's IMEI GENERATED) i was just wondering if anyone could see why it wont take the full code:
0050486*** the last three stars dont fit into the simlock app box!
Really am desperate guys. On the bottom of the letter it mentions in smallprint (do not attempt to un simlock this phone more than three times) but as i havent, and yet it somehow clocks three attempts, it's not my fault!
Any help is much appreciated via post, PM or IM
not unlocking with code off t-mobile
had same problem
you dont enter the 000s at the beginning of the code
so code fits in then
t-mobile should tell you this but dont
had to work it out myself
ok

Hey guys i'm new at this... But the topic here is the same as my problem. I've recently just got a SoftBank X01HT Jp Did the following as instructed -Downgrade-radio-ROM. All went well, after a few mistakes. But when i placed a sim it showed Simlock and mine shows you've tried 25 times. how long would that take? Is there another way? I tried waiting for 24 hours & still nothing. =(
Please help...

Hello!
This is my first post on this forum, so I would like to greet everyone first!!!
Now, here's something about unlocking Magician ... AFAIK impossible up to date (is someone working on this yet?). But I have discovered a possible way how to do it and I'm interested if it is possible:
I came across an information, that the unlock code consists of 8 digits. So, there are 100 million possible combinations of the code. And one way of unlocking qtek devices is connecting to the wireless modem and entering following command: AT%HTCLOCK=0,code,1
So, I guess it is possible to write an application, that would automatically enter codes from 00000000 to 99999999 via AT commands. And because this application would enter codes without user interface (=a box that pops up on the screen when a false SIM card is entered), I guess Magician won't lock itself after receiving several false codes. So, all we have to do is to wait for the right code to be entered!!!!
What do you think about it? It could be a job, that takes days, but the reward would be amazing - an unlocked fone without loosing the warranty!! 8)
greets!
i am not familiar on how the unlock code is entered.
but i do think the unlock code has a distinct tie to the imei. maybe a formula of some sort. if someone had about 10 imei codes and the corresponding unlock code, you could try to solve it with a matrix equasion.
but i have no idea at all of this, so it could be just bullcrap
btw let say we can input about (i am being very positive) 2 codes a sec. tha would mean you have to be running it continiously for 570 days, even if you could do 10 a sec it would take months, only when you have about 100 inputs a sec it could be reasonable. (if your code is 99999999)
570 days???
and I hoped it could be done in one night! so I guess we still have to wait for clever ppl to develop a working unlock solution.....
btw. I found two codes with corresponding IMEI's on german forum. Maybe it helps someone...
IMEI:354819000715529 -- Unlock Code:19056320
IMEI:354819000715180 -- Unlock Code:84212434

greetz!
is there a way to overwrite the imei of the mda compact???????
errrr ... small glitch ... I believe the actually Magician locks up forgood after three incorrect codes ...
Hi,
I recently purchased a second hand MDA compact that was locked to T-mobile. After using the "all in one simlock tool" (from this site) I tried my vodafone sim card and it stated "invalid or missing sim". After various soft resets and hard resets and re-running the tool it would still not recognise my vodafone sim.
I then tried a friends contract t-mobile sim card in my phone to make sure all was well and it asked for the pin number. My friend entered his pin and it came up "Phone locked please enter PUK code". My friend then put his sim card back in his phone and enetered his pin as normal and all was working fine ? I have tried this several time with t-mobile sims and the same happens to them all but when put back in their normal phones everything works as normal.
I have even called t-mobile for help (no laughing please) and as you guessed I got no further forward.
Appologies if this is a widely covered topic or in the wrong section, i have searched and read loads of stuff but I am still stuck.
Please help me to unlock phone...
anyone :?
try this
Try this:
With the phone off, press the camera button and hold it in
Now press the power button for 5-10 seconds
Let go the power button
If the screen comes up with 3 color bars, connect the phone to your computer and run your favorite firmware.
Let us know the results...
Newbie question... Firmware compared to ROM?
Hi all,
I would be very interested in knowing the result of this last advice you gave as i am fighting to unlock my SPV3000 from Orange and may end up locking it with PUK request at the end...
Anyway, my question before I reach this stage is: What are you really talking about when you say "Run firmware"?
Do you mean flash your PPC again with a ROM like Mr Clean one or is it something else? And where should we find such firmware?
Just in case I may have to follow your advice soon... ;-)
After sending off my second VarioII for the screen alignment issue to be fixed, instead of repairing it T-Mobile sent me a new device. I picked up the device from my local T-Mob shop, and started up the device. It went through it's normal boot up process then stopped with a screen saying that the 'Network is locked, please enter an unlock code'. In the top left hand corned the app name is displayed, it's called SimLock.
I've never had a lock on my SIM card, and it was exactly the same card that I had been using minutes early in a temporary replacement phone.
Anyway, T-Mob couldnt help me. They first gave me a 4 digit code to enter then an 8 digit PUK code, none of which worked. Also, each time I enter a number the time between tries becomes longer. I think there is also a limit (10?) on the number of tries before the SIM is rendered useless?
So, I think I will try the SIM in a replacement at the shop to check that's ok then I will ask for a replacement, cos' as far as I'm concerned it was broken when I received it, and I dont want to wait another 2 weeks for it to come back from repair.
Anyone else had this experience?
PaulB
Hi PeekBee,
The SimLock program is the network lock HTC use. I might also be used to lock the phone to a single SIM card but I'm not sure if SimLock is used for that. It appears however that the phone you have been given as a replacement has the wrong security settings enabled.
Gav.
Thanks Gav,
After spending a great deal of time on the phone to T-Mob tech support they've finally agreed that they can't get around the issue and will ship out a new one. This will be my 4th Vario II!

From memory if you keep putting in the wrong code it will start to give you longer and longer timeouts before you can try again. And I think after 10 goes it locks completely.
Anyone else confirm this?
Mike
it says that i tried 6 times so do u now how long i have to weight.thank you and do i need to remain my phone on or switch it off.
You did something wrong, repeat the whole process again and read the unlocking thread.
waiting time
I have the SPV M3100 with 1.06 so can't use the unlocker but didn't realise that because I firstly paid for the download from another site and the full instructions were not given with it. I have paid for the unlock code from Orange but I cannot enter it yet as it says now I have tried 7 times and have to wait. Has anyone any idea of how long I have to wait?
i just got the phone yesterday HTC HD2 and i got the unlock code for it so i can use at&t but when i tried to put the code it already said
you have tried 14 times, please wait until timeout...
do any of you guys know any solution..or anyway to put it in timeout
i know i searched the forum but no answer to it yet
please help if you can
thanks in advance
anybody? is there anyway to override this
you only get so many tries at entering a code. I dont know the exact number, i think it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, i think its usually around 7 times, then you have to wait (an hour maybe, perhaps longer) then you get some more goes, but if you get it wrong again it locks out for longer/permanently, unless you take it to a shop that can directly access it with a cable, and it will allow some more tries.
When i first read about this, on a different phone, about two years ago, it was 7 tries at entering through keypad, wait an hour, then 7 more tries then locked, plus 10 tries through the cable, then it was completely locked.
If you have any kind of receipt, you probably wanna kick up a fuss with the seller.
same problem
i've tried 19 times
i'm waiting 33 h now and it is impossible insert any code
