Streaming PPC to PPC - Networking

I have a wizard and an old alpine, both running fine on my wi-fi network.
I've got the wizard to work as a webcam and I can see it fine on my PC screen.
Is there anyway to stream the wiazrd webcam to my alpine screen?
Thanks

Jam as a GPRS modem

Hi, All!
I have a JAM and HP iPAQ hx4700 and i want to use my JAM as a bluetooth GPRS modem for iPAQ. Can anyone tell me how can I do this?
Imate - Jam as GPRS modem
Lots of people want this also.
You need to sort the bluetooth stack out first
Something like BT Tools would be nice
Can anyone out there help?

what is bt tools? I cant find this program
Has anyone gotten the imate JAM working as a GPRS modem via BT with any other PPC's or iPaqs?
I've just installed Pocket BT Tools... didn't do any good.
This should work (event though I don't understand the sense of it). The SSA profile is platform independent and when the stack of the HP is capable of using this profile from another device, it should work. Let me put it like this - if you can use it with your Pc, you should be able to use it with the IPaq.

I want to use the HP HX4700 for surfing because of its 480x640 VGA screen. I can pair the HX4700 and imate JAM via BT just fine. However, when the HX4700 attemps to use the JAM's GPRS connection, the JAM never dials out. The HP eventually returns an error message "cannot connect..." I've tried using the JAM's wireless modem app as well, with the same results. I'm not certain where the whole process is breaking down.
What parameters do you use? You should do the same as for your PC. Have you successfully connected to your Magician's modem with your PC? If not, try that first. Search the forum for tips.

My PC doesn't have any BT hardware, so I can't exactly test it using that platform. My HP HX4700 can use my SE P910a as a BT modem without any problems. The question is whether or not the imate JAM and/or the HX4700 both have the required software to share the GPRS connection. I've already paired the two devices -- they can see each other. However, when I attempt to connect to the JAM from my HX4700 to use its GPRS internet connection, then JAM doesn't initiate the auto-dial-out.
As far as parameters, I just go through the BT wizard on both my HP HX4700 and imate JAM. I can complete both wizard questionaires without any problems. The only part that breaks down is the actual JAM GPRS dial-out, which never starts automatically as it should.

Is dectection set on on ur computer, and does your bleutooth stack support the PAN profile?
me too, i've placed a BT PAN enabling topic 3 times. geuss you guys haven't noticed
windows installs the PAN service and i have the option/canconnect to my device via PAN from windows, but my device cannot detect the PAN or any service on my PC.
what kind of device you have, i remember i had the option too when i installed widcomm BT stack. but it crashed my device later. i have a htc wizard. PAN does work on wm5 but i don't have it in my rom
As its a Magician forums i thought it would be obvious?
I got an MDA compact with the Qtek WWE 1.12 ROM.
Using the Bluesoleil stack with the Cambridge Sillicon stack aswell.
My bluetooth adapter on my PC is generic, i actually have no idea what it is!

Pairing magician with 3G mobile phone via bluetooth

Hi,
I've a SE K610i and a magician.
As I am using my K610i for 3G service, I was trying to pair it with my magician. Apparently, i can paired both of the device. However, when I'm trying to initiate the dialing from my magician, it doesn't seems to connect to the phone to dial it. Basically I would like to use my PDA to surf with 3G speed (pairing with the mobile phone) and make normal calls with my magician. Would that be possible?
Is there any guide on how to do it? and also, is it because the standard magician bluetooth software does not support it?
Thanks & Regards,
i also have the similar problem when i want to connect my o2 mini to my K810i for internet connection. My O2 mini does not connect to the mobile phone via bluetooth. Connect by Infrared is working fine. Transferring files via bluetooth is working fine too.
My setting did not have any problem because it working fine with my treo 750.
Anyone can help me?
Are there really nobody in o2 mini anymore? OK, for the one that still with the mini. I have found the problem. When pairing O2mini bluetooth with any other phone which you want it to act as a data modem, just click 'NO' when u being ask 'will you want to add a serial port". You should able to dail after this.
If you replace the microsoft bluetooth stack with the Blue Soleil one (available on these forums) you get a hell of a lot more functionality with the bluetooth, it also adds the PAN facility. I have successfully connected my magician to my K800i and my C905 and both will suft the net perfectly well. You can do the same with the broadcom bluetooth stack on your home pc.

BT DUN

Is there a way to enable BT DUN on the Mogul? I tried the WM6_DUN hack posted in the other forum but it didn't work. Did Sprint strip it completely from the OS?

Bluetooth DUN has been replaced with Internet Sharing. You havent seen easy teathering until you have used Internet sharing...it is a breeze.
Pair the Mogul to your laptop via Bluetooth. (this varies based on which BT stack you are using, MS, WC, Toshiba, etc) The software you use should support PAN (Personal Area Network) Once paired, you enable Internet Sharing on the Mogul and then connect the laptop to the Mogul as a BT Network Access Point and you are done.
I have tethered both my laptop and my HTC Tytn to the Mogul. Works great.
Brad
Thanks. I already got ICS to work with my laptop that's using BlueSoleil. I'm trying to connect my Nokia 770. It only supports DUN that I know of.
Internet Connection Sharing
Hi,
I read Brad's post on connecting your Tytn to Mogul.
I have Telus version of Mogul, they do not have internet sharing on device.
I did try PDAnet connecting to P3600 and the Mogul could not see a serial port profile on P3600.
My goal is to connect a HTC X7501 to HTC P4000. I have had no success.
Since I need to buy X7501 to test, I have tried using the HTC 3600.
If the device would have internet sharing vs wModem, would that increase my chances of using the P4000 as modem for HTC X7501 Advantage.
If Brad sees this thread, would appreciate a reply.
Thank You
Dave

See this thread for a solution:
WM5 DUN Bluetooth N800
http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4211
Search for "tomtom" in the Hermes forum, there is a WM6 CAB file that enables DUN on the Mogul, works like a charm with the 770 and N800.

Pocket Controller 6

hello!
I own a HTC X7500 with WM6 official ROM and I'm having a problem with pocket controller.
I mean, I think I have... You tell me..
I think it's pretty slow, I mean, when I use the remote controlle to install or to browse or to do anything remotelly on my HTC the connection seams pretty slow. Seams for real, that I'm remotelly connecting, not local.
I'm using ActiveSync, if it matters.
Notice that I've tested on the same PC on another PPC (QVGA Screen if it matters) and It works perfectly!
Please, tell me if its normal, or there's something I can do about it...
best regards
Deiota
