Does anyone know of a program like sleepwell! that will work with the MDA? I'd like to turn off my phone radio before I goto bed, and then have it turn on when I get up. That way I don't get calls, and save battery life.
Thanks.

I just tried this, but for some reason after the app turns the phone off, when it tries to turn the phone back on it doesn't work all the way. The app turns the radio on, but I can't connect to my carrier. I had to goto comm manager and turn the radio off and then back on again....strange..

Is there any way to stop the phone disconnecting the wifi when in standby while at home ? I would like to leave MSN signed in then I can find out when anyone comes online and messages me.
Failing that is there any way to stop the phone going into standby and just get some kind of app that will just turn the screen off ?
I remember when I used a nokia 9500 a while back you just closed the phone but it was still connected to the wifi and you would get alerts when someone messaged you via msn.

So then it wont disconnect ?
Still disconnects as far as I can see.
Surely this isnt the first time this has been brought up ? I would have thought that was the bonus of one of these phones, you could be connected when at home to msn constantly ?
Well, the point of standby is to kill anything uneeded (e.g. everything except phone and storage).
What you can do is close the screen, this turns it off, and have it set not to go into standby after however long (power settings). However, wireless chews battery, so you might want toi use it on power.
I tried searching for the reason/solution but could not find anything.
Basically my device keeps truning on. I read somewhere that it's due to a fault in the radio rom. Does anyone have any knowledge/solution for this?
Thanks
It seems very strange to me, which programs are installed in your phone?
If it's related to radio you can just try to flash the latest radio 1.38.00.11 (ripped by Pof) without losing any of your data to see if this resolves your problem.
pof's Trin_Radio_1.38.00.11_Only_SSPL rip
Thanks

Do you have Exchange (Push) email? Do you have set email receiving to happen after a certain amount of time?
No, good suggestion but it's not the email settings.
I've put the newer radio rom on and so far no turning on. But it's only been a few hours so far...
Still turns on - oh well !
I have this same problem with my Imate Jam, my phone is set to check email every 15mins and I think thats when it turns itself on. But this must be a bug because it drains the battery so much faster especially it the screen gets random inputs when it is in your pocket constantly.
Another suggestion - do you use Sprite Backup Battery Monitor ?
http://www.spritesoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=606
or any other Weatherplugin which is checking every minutes the forecast ?

I have the same turning on issue. On mine, I know it is due to the email that is getting downloaded. Mine doesn't always do it, sometimes if I've been using wifi and turned it off, the phone will connect and check mail without coming out of standby. I haven't been able to track down exactly how to fix it. I do use DeviceLock which locks the screen so that if the phone wakes up for any reason when it is in my pocket or my backpack, buttons don't get pressed by accident.
My Dopod is turning on too and it really pisses me off.
I can be sure at 12:00am it will turn on every time.
I have reduced my power off time to 2min.

Before doing anything like flashing a different rom, start by eliminating some things
First remove your sim card and turn off the phone if it turns on by itself then its not network related nor has anything to do with your email settings.
Second try a different simcard and set the network manually to GSM and disable GPRS.
Third remove all programs that you've added(Hard reset if you have to).
Finally and if none of the above work flash a different rom.
I'm wondering if it's possible to use the red hang up button to ONLY turn the screen off and not put the phone into sleep mode?
The reason for this is that 9/10 times i put the phone into sleep, when i wake it up my data connection is dead and i have to rest ir through settings, very frustrating.
Thanks for any help.
Bump, I too want to know this.
my hd2 doesnt disconnect data connections when its standby. what rom are you using?
and i really think you dont want to put the phone to be awake all the time it costs a lot of energy to do that
Download the autolock disable cab.

Stock T-Mobile USA rom
I know it would tax the battery, but this problem is really really driving me crazy. I love the phone but having to reset the data connection 15-20 times a day is becoming a real deal killer for me.
Have tried just locking via start button then lock
Hi everyone, I had a quick question I needed your assistance on.
Sometime I put my N1 into Airplane mode to save battery and when I finally turn airplane mode off I can never seem to get a data connection unless I totally shut off the phone and turn it back on again. Coming out of Airplane mode there will be a 3g signal on the status bar but only the up arrow will light up and anything needing data (browser, market, etc) wont work unless I totally shut off the phone and turn it back on again. Is this happening to you too?
The same thing happens if I open up the Quick Settings app and turn off mobile data (to save battery) and when I turn mobile data back on I have to restart the phone entirely for it to work properly.
It seems like my phone might be having an issue with data connection so I might have to call up HTC about it but I wanted to find out from the other members on the forum if this was happening to them too.
Thank you for your help
It's happened to me before using APNdroid.
Apparently you can fix it by turning the radio on and off in the testing menu (*#*#4636#*#), never tried it though.
Check that:

In last 2 weeks, I have "hard time" to turn the wi-fi on. Sometimes turn on and sometimes do not. It does not matter of what rom I am using, I still have the problem. Is my phone going to sh..?. Thanks.

More information would be necessary to tell you that.
- Do you see APs?
- Is the reported signal good?
- When you connect, does it connect at all or indicate a failure?
- If it connects, does it drop and reconnect continuously?
- Does it work on open APs with no security?
- Did you install any items that modify your wireless properties (like PMR?)
- Did you try with stock and see if it connects more quickly?
There are lots of potential issues totally aside from your WLAN radio failing.
The problem that I have is that in cm10 roms ( try few) the wi-fi slider sometimes is highliter and will turn on and sometimes will not be highlater and will not turn on. I went back to GB rom original and in Sense, I can turn on, but with error. It happen about 2 weeks ago and ever since, I have that problem. I can not remember what I did at that time, but I did not :mess: with radio. I did took the back cover of ( try to fix the sound). Did I mess up something there?. Look like the wi-fi acting up and will turn on when want to - I got nothing to say - just like my ex.
I decided to use some "bad" words against my phone and the wi-fi turn it self on. I am not joking. Go figure. The problem that I see - I can not use those kind of words in public.
I think that my phone is going to sh...

Hmm. If you're having that happen on stock, that's not good.
Okay, so you did something to it mechanically two weeks ago for sound issues and then your radio started to act up? When you say 'back cover', do you mean just popping the battery cover off, or taking it apart to fix connections? Perhaps something got knocked loose or unseated?
I did remove the motherboard cover to get to the speaker. I think that my have mess up something. Time for new phone any way. Thanks.
