Problem writing with Atom Life - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom General

Hi,
Anyone out there has this problem? When I tried to write using Transcriber or Notes, the performance of the strokes are very slow. If I write normally like I always do with my Xda II mini, all my strokes will be connected.
Thanks.

XDA IIi 2020i Input issue

Seems that whenever I select Resco keyboard or Wordlogic from the input drop down menu I always get the defualt keyboard layout and not Resco's or Wordlogic's layouts. Anyone has that issue too with XDA IIi or 2020i. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times both but no joy . The version I use should be WM2003SE compatible but I still only get the default keyboard instead of the ones I want. The rest of the pre-installed inputs work fine.
Hey people, anybody else here has experienced such an issue with XDA or 2020i or am I alone in this.
...
I had the same problem already few times. I thing that the best way to solve is the hard-reset of the device(and data backup of course). This problem appears after I have installed some conflicting applications that damages the input-panel resource files. Ex:I've installed one buggy application and afterwards the input panels was disappeared and I was unable to type any text at the device. Hard-reset helps.

Wizard Keyboard map incorrect after changing rom

I recently reflashed my o2 xda mini s with the far superior imate rom. it's much better however the mapping on my slide out keyboard is now slightly wrong.
all of the unshifted keys are fine (letters, arrows, backspace etc) but when i hit shift, many of the symbols are bounced one key over. For example Shift A should be ! and is now ~. Shift S is now ! and should be @ etc etc.
Where can i change/update/hack this ?
thanks,
malty
Yeah had the same problem too. aAfter upgrading to the latest Qtek rom on my O2 xda mini s. Will appreciate a solution to rhis problem
You probably just need to change the keyboard locale in the registry. Just search the forum or look at the Wiki and you will find it.
cant find how/where to do that, anyone help ? thanks
fixed it using the tool in this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=39725
set keyb to uk english ticked the box and rebooted
perfect now
thanks

Is there no T9 predictive texting on a vario II

My o2 mini xda s had predictive texting, I found this useful as I could write a quick text with one hand rather than holding the device with both hands. Has this been removed from the vario II? and can i get it back, i don't mind installing a different rom etc..
Cheers

You can install the phone pad, it's on ftp:

Cheers for that!

Letter recognition

I tried a few minutes ago to write an sms with the letter recognition fonction. I use to write all my sms with that with my Qtek S100 (I mate jam) and my HTC TRINITY. It use to work very well. I was able to write very fast.
However it completly unusable with the HTC TOUCH (ELf) and the DUAL (Niki). Even with the new Roms with drivers problems solved I can't manage to write well. It misses letters, do points instead of spaces.....
I fear to face that problem if I get a Diamond?

Not really relevant to Niki forums... And you've the same post in the Diamond forum, so I'm gonna lock this thread...

Block Recognizer

Hi guys,
I bought a TD2 new, upgrading from my older HTC Trinity (P3600).
On the Trinity I got very used to the Block Recognizer entry method, as it was intuitive and MUCH faster than the keyboard.
On the TD2 the keyboard's very nice but I still wanted to use the Block Recognizer. I know that this exists as an input option but there is a marked difference: Whereas on the Trinity the script I'm writing appears instantaneously under my stylus/finger, on the TD2 there is a half-second delay. This may not seem like a lot but it means that my typing is drastically slowed and has lots of typos!
Does anybody else like to use Block Recognizer and has the same issue? Any fixes known?
Thanks,
Wassim

I have the same problem for letter recognizer and unfortunately no solution. I was so fast with letter recognizer that I could write meeting minutes in real time. Now I have a lot of typos

I´m a block recognizer fan too. I use this cab and works perfect. Hope this help.
Hey MrGusano, thanks for the .cab! I was wondering if there's any documentation on this? If it happens to not work can I then uninstall it?
Cheers,
Wassim
I belive that is happening because of TD2 screen resolution which is 480x800 (384000 pixels to be processed) if you compare it to for example omnia which is 240x320 (76800 pixels) you'll get the idea.
Shortly saying: more dpi (dots per inch) bigger latencies....
Sorry bout' my english guys

The cab has only registry entries inside. No files will be installed.
After installation, you can remove it safely in Settings->Remove Programs
