Terminal Services Client via Activesync

Hi all, this is my first post on xda developers (best site i've seen for xda related stufff).
Anyway my query relates to remote desktop control on the pocket pc. I've used the microsoft client (whatever its called) to connect and manipulate my xda 2 on my pc, but now I'm looking to do the opposite: view and control my pc desktop from my Xda.
I have an application that is meant to do this (remote desktop), and i'm sure it would work, though it wants to connect via gprs/wap. I am wanting to connect via activesync ( specificaly bluetooth activesnyc ).
I was told Terminal Services Client was the program to use, but I cant work it out. I've tried connecting on my pc's name and ip with the pc (xp pro) set to receive incoming connections, but i keep getting connection errors...
I can't find any help relating to this type of scenario on the net , so if anyone can help it'd be appreciated.
Cheers
you have to turn it one in systems of your pc
then you have to make a connection to the pc from the pda
then you start therminal services and type in the name of the pc
and you are there
Despite being connected by activesync, my xda 2 still trys to connect via wap (preseumably because it sees the GPRS in use already).
Has anyone setup terminal service client to work under similar conditions?
Wacking another post on this to try and grab someones attention...
Terminal services client via activesync on xp pro... has anyone seen or got a tutorial? I try using my pc's name as the login and believed I have enabled everything I'm supposed to on my PC , but still can't get it to work. I'm sure I've just missed something somewhere on the PC, but can't think what for the life of me....
Any help would be really appreciated.
well you should prob disconnect gprs
and maybe set the network to work or home or how ever you set it on under connections
my problem is as soon as i login with my xda2 then my normal user on the pc get disconnected and that disable activesync kicking off my therminal services client (the xda2)

I'm activesync'd with my PC so the GPRS connection is via the PC if it wasn't there I don't believe I could get anywhere with terminal services.... as I said when I try and connect it doesn't find my PC's name and so begins looking for it on the net... which for some reason it tries to look for on wap (connects itself).
What I need to / want to know is what settings people have setup on their pc, and how having a firewall effects it?
unless your pc's modem is another xda then your gprs is not going though your pc
gprs is cellphone only
under connections you need to set up a network which dont connect to gprs
I have Terminal Services Client working fine on my XDAII to connect via 802.11b to a Win 2k Server. As far as I know the Terminal Server has to be an actual server and not just a ordinary PC.
i doubt it because on this xp pro i could use therminal services
when i turned it on
the only problem was that i could not use activesync as the connection
because when i login'd with my pda i the normal user on the pc would be loged out disabling activesync
Thanks for the post. spent a while trying to config before i read this.
Is there a way i can use remote assistance from my xda2. What i want is to use my xda remote desktop as a remote control for playing my mp3s and vids direct on my pc
you could use vnc if therminal services will not work without logging the desktop user off and so disabling the activesync connection
controlling vids and mp3 i cannot help but what i did was that... i switch user in the win xp pro and login using the terminal client so in other words the active sync connection will not disconnect. but i don't like the idea of having the whole desktop on my PPC it sucks having lesser space to control the computer but remote desktop connection is bette but tis a demo version that i can get hold off. Thinking of purchasin the full version soon once i have a stable bluetooth connection. my BT range sucks.

Terminal Services tries to use GPRS to connect

Im having a bit of a recurring problem with my O2 Mini S. When i first got the phone and tried to terminal service into my home pc, it would attempt to connect via GPRS even when the wifi was connected. I could browse the net and shared folders on my pc via PIE with wifi no problem, but terminal services would always try to use GPRS. After hard resetting the phone (for other reasons) i found it would connect using wifi without any problem. However, after doing another hard reset its started trying to use GPRS again. I cant work out why or how to get it to use wifi if its enabled. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Disconnect and connect activesync connection

Any expert out there able to come out with an desktop/ppc application to disconnect and connect the activesync connection ?
Previously i have tried to use the repllog.exe /d and repllog.exe /remote in desktop but no avail. I have also tried to use the .net system.diagnostic.process to kill and open the wcescomm and wcesmgr but after re-launch, the connection still there and i can't refresh the connection.
Any idea ?
Try this from Vijay555 have been using it for months and its perfect

Thanks iggy.
I've checked the site..but the command line tool only allow to perform disconnect/connect on data connection, radio connection as well as bluetooth. I need a tool which able to allow me to terminate the desktop activesync connection and re-enable back. Any idea ?
Maybe this:

Auto Syncronising and auto Vpn Connect

Hi
I am quite new too this forum but I have been looking to try and enhance my Universal for quite a while. The first two projects I am trying to do are quite simple (I hope!)
1. I want to set an option so active sync only sync automatically either using only wifi or only when wifi is conected
2. At university you have to log onto a VPN before you can access the Internet, I want to try and get my phone to automatically connect to the vpn when it sees its connected to the university network.
Thanks
P.s i hope i have put this in the correct part of the forum if not apologies.

How to enable auto connect to internet for applications?

Hello,
when I open the Opera browser it starts to connect to the Internet via UMTS/Edge/GPRS bla bla bla....

a friend of mine has the touch hd and his icq mobile connects automatically to the internet.
does anybody know how i can enable the auto connect to the internet when I open icq mobile?

Hello!
I've set up a GPRS connection on a mobile device running Windows Mobile 5.0. It connects on demand (e.g. when entering an URL in Internet Explorer).
However, connecting to a remote database (via SqlConnection) fails if the device isn't already connected, ie. it doesn't connect automatically. Is there a way to configure the device to connect automatically when attempting any TCP connection, or should I do it programatically in some way (Connection Manager API)?
thanks,
