No sound through speaker after hard reset... - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I've just hard reset my Vodaphone v1605 because I was having notification problems. Since the reset I have no sound coming through the phone speaker but sound works fine through both wired and bt headset...
Any suggestions? I've already tried hard resetting again... I'm using the latest official Vodaphone ROM. Obviously I've already checked the volume settings

I don't even get any sound for incoming calls... can anybody help???

This turned out to be nothing to do with the hard reset... it was a loose speaker connection. I had to open my Hermes up but then it was easy to reconnect and fix.

XDA Exec - loss of sound from all speakers except phone ring

All sound from stereo speakers, phone speakers , mic are not working.
Only ringtone if phone rings.
you can only hear system sounds with headset and talk with headset.
Any ideas?
Have you tried turning the volume up?

I wish it was that simple, but alas I tried a lot , and it looks like I might have a faulty one unless anyone got an idea
I find it hard to believe that it's a hardware issue if both the external speakers and the headphones don't work at the same time yet the ringtones do work.....
I hope it's something simple and you don't have to resort to a phone return.
No Sound
Has any one found a solution for this problem, as I have the exect same issue. All sounds on exec dont work execpt when receiving an incoming call, when call is answered cant hear a thing, does work though with headset.
Have tested and sms, mms etc sound doesnt work, movies and music doesnt work either.
This is not going to help  but I had a similar problem a few months ago on my XDA2. Phone rang, I tried to answer it, but couldn't hear a thing. No other sounds worked. Headphone worked perfectly. Soft resets achieved nothing.
Thought my XDA2 had died after 18 months of service, but then suddenly an hour later it all started working again and did from then on.
I have no idea why this happened or whether I did anything to fix it, but the problem isn't unique to the Universal.
I'm running PocketZenPhone. Maybe that could be interfering with the sounds somehow? Dunno.
Edit: I doubt it's a hardware problem so I definitely wouldn't risk sending my shiny Exec back to O2's monkeys for them to replace with another broken one. Did you try a hard reset? I didn't on the XDA2 but maybe it'd help. :?:
Try this...
Maybe you should try this, I use it in order to transfer all the sounds (including music) to the BT Headset when I am at the gym:
-Get Total Commander
-Go to the registry editor
-Tap or search for this directory: \\\registry\HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\
-Change the value of the String LaunAPEnable to value "0".
-Now press and hold the main button on the headset (the one you use to answer calls and transfer the call to the speaker of the Universal) and try if this worked.
-If you succeed or not revert the value of the string back to "1" or you will not be able to use VoiceCommand.
Hope this can help you.
Problem SOLVED. No sound
I had the same issue with my Jasjar. When you plug in the headphones it turns off the speakers except for incoming ring tones. The inside of the ear jack got stuck. I had to take apart the unit and bend the clip. It contacted so that it didnt' think there was a headphone inserted. I don't ever remebering plugging in a headphone to even have cause this problem. Its just a very loose contact. So when you get in there you bend it to make it stronger. You will understand once you have it apart.

No more sound ?

Hi dudes,
My problem seems similar to Obstler's issue in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=35378&highlight=sound+problem
The problem: I can no longer hear any sound no matter what I do:
- clicking progs used to generate sounds. But no more...
- playing sound files just gives me silence
- a phone call generates a vibration as usual, but no more sound
- and when I pick up, I cannot hear the caller's voice
I tried:
- switching on/off bluetooth and speakerhone
- fiddling around with sound settings
- ending all active programs
Nothing seems to help.
My QTEK 9100 is one month old, has EXTrom 1.6.7.101 and is pretty much default (except for one lousy mahjongg game, but this one isn't the cause as it's been on for 2 weeks now.)
What I haven't tried yet; a soft reset. (I lack the doc here at the office but I think I need to do an ActiveSync at home first before resetting as I might lose some data right?)
Anyone had this? Anyone know what to do?
I'm quite new to PDA so I admit I wouldn't even know how to upgrade the bloody thing.
Had the same problem..
Try using your headphone plug, and plug it in several times(not to rough)
Sometimes the connection stays stuck in headphone....
It worked for me!!

Microphone stopped working

Hey everyone,
I have imate jasjar, my microphone was working good till I completed last call 2 hours back, and suddenly person at other end wasnt able to hear voice, and I figured out my microphone stopped working.. I thought its a hardware problem.. but when I speak very close to microphone, person at other end can hear, but when I speak normally they cant.. earlier they could but now they cant.. and this happend suddenly between call, I did not do anything.. I tried enabling and disabling Microphone Gain Control but it doesnt help out, can anyone help me out? I did 2 times hard reset as well but no help
have you tried upgrading your radio?
I have a very similar problem with my Universal. Microphone and HP doesn't work. It's not a software problem, I tryed to flash different rom version, soft reset, hard reset. The phone works only with headset. I think it's a problem with jack connector detection. Even if no jack is plugged, i can't use button "Activate HP" during a call.

This problem was highlighted before and its due to the design of the connector. Apparently the only way to over this is by plugging the phone in and out several times until the phone acknowledges that the headset has been removed.
Its because of this problem that I do not use the headset on my Exec.

phone thinks handsfree is connected??

hi
big problem, my phone thinks the handsfree is connected, have tried softreset, same problem, tried hardreset also, SAME PROBLEM, I see the handsfree icon on the taskbar... I can't make calls without handsfree... :/ wtf is the problem? when I connect the handsfree and remove it it still thinks the handsfree is connected... :/
edit: seems to be working normal a while but after some time it thinks the headset is connected... :/
I had exactly the same problem. It was that the physical connector where the headset goes still thought the headset was in. I did all the same including factory reset and was going to downgrade my rom back to factory one so I could send it back then I tried showing the headset plug in and out sharply a few times and bobs your uncle it was sorted. I was annoyed that it took me a factory reset to guess the problem but happy that it was fixed.
I was thinking if it happens again that I may try a tiny drop of WD40 down the hole to see if this helps.
I too had this problem. removing and re-connecting my headphones a few times fixed it - and its never happened again. Very strange though...
yes strangely i have never had the problem again. just once.

Can hear call only with speaker phone turned on.

Wonder anyone got this problem, make outgoing call or incoming call, no voice from internal speaker. But if I press "Speaker On" during call I can hear the voice of the other party.
Playing music song playback sound ok, only during call conversations , both outgoing & incoming, I can't hear any sound unless I turn the speaker-phone on.
seems there is a problem in the phone speaker, though the main speaker is working properly.
Tried hard reset and also changed the SIM, but to no avail.
Any advice? Thanks.

My problem has been solved. I had created a backup of my system with SPB backup and it restored my phone back.
I think the problem arose after installing oldSAP speaker phone, which routed the incoming and outgoing call audio via speakerphone.
However, I cant understand that if it was a software problem, why could'nt it be solved by Hard reset.
Any suggestions ?

My problem with the phone speakers resurfaced, sometimes they behaved and sometimes did'nt, thereby forcing me to turn the speakerphone on for listening to calls.
I finally took my phone to a nearby Mobile Repair Shop. The mechanic told me that it was a common problem in most phones and the only way out was to change the phone speakers. The speakers available were Chinese ones for Rs 150 and what he called original ones for Rs 300. I opted for the latter and he replaced the speakers within 5 minutes, whether he changed the speakers or just refittted the Originals after cleaning? I do'nt know. However, problem solved since then.
I have same problem for about 5months which was described in the first post, and can't solve this problem...any help?
I am also facing the exact problem!!! It was working fine until I accidently did the factory reset... now I have installlllled OS many times with diff vrs. & from stock to diff customized roms but the problem still persists!!!! wondering wat happened!!
