Can confirm it works fine on a trinity
It doesn't work too well...maybe on a VGA display it could be interesting, but in our p3600 I prefer operamini or opera standard

Hello,
I installed trial version of Netfront 3.2 to my s200 but after opening and entering an URL, it does not connect and open the URL. I tried with different connections and different URLs. Nothing.
Then I uninstalled it and installed 3.1 full version. This time even more weird, when I click the icon of Netfront, the program opens and closes itself instantly.
Netfront is the only browser that opens some of the sites I use and i need it. What do you think can be the problem and the solution?
:?:
netfront
I have been using the technical preview package (pre-release) netfront 3.3 v1.05 which is working wonderfully. It is still in beta and net-front has been updating it regularly but it works flawlessly for me. Note that it is time-limited so if you install it there will come a time where it will stop working and you will have to uninstall it and use their new beta (or final release if it's out).
Here is where you can download it: http://nfppc.access.co.jp/english/about_v33.html
I have also been using it because of the great versatility of browser settings and that it gives me access to the most web pages.
apap
Yes apap I 100% agree with you. Netfront 3.3 is the best browser for the pocket pc platform.
There is a lot of hype for the Opera Beta 2, but in reality it does not even come close to NetFront, though this is my personal view.
Hope Netfront soon release the next beta or final version as the current technical preview (1.05) expires on 30th April
Kind Regards
Netfront
The new beta is ready. 1.06

try opera mini, works well for me. free and very easy to use. finger movement and zoom also can take over pie for downloads
Picsel Browser
hey wuub:
My picsel browser just seems slow all of the time. I've had a lot better luck with PIE on speed.
I used picsel for a while, until i found opera mini 4. It is much faster than picsel. It keeps your page in the desktop-like layout, but also formats the text so that it is readable (without having to pan around) when zommed in.
opera mini 4 is my suggestion, with esmertec jbed as your midlet manager
Hey Sturatt:
thnx for the info. Does Opera mini work well on the ppc's? I was looking at Opera's website & it looked like Opera Mobile was more for wm6 (but costs money) & Opera mini was more for the smartphones (and was free). PIE just doesn't do well for me but picsel really seems slow compared to PIE.
i have a mogul (ppc6800) and opera mini works great.
just install jbed, then go to www.operamini.com on your phone's IE, navigate to the opera mini 4 page and download (by default it goes to opera mini 3, you have to select a link to get to opera mini 4).

Yes, Picsel IS slow - and has tons of other problems (low Web standards compliance, for example). I don't really recommend it. Opera Mini 4 is far better - in my opinion, of course.
Hey guys what is the best browser on the vogue? opera, netfront, picsel?
Im waiting for my skyfire beta code btw cant wait to get it.
Opera mini 4 is great ---Skyfire was buggy,
already deleted it.
Don't like Netfront.
Opera 9.33 look promising.
But my favourite is still Opera Mini 4, very fast and very reliable. Ok so it doesn't support flash etc. but hey this is a phone!
I like NetFront. It hast a fast page load, nice zoom in out feature, and works well for forum and news sites. Still no flash but, no body has that working perfectly yet for PPC.

because its on BETA skyfire has it in its agreement that they can keep records of all and every website you access- so they can see what people use and access most
AFAIK

With netfront .. can you zoom in and out of the page like with picsel Browser? Only option I see is the zoom (25/50/75%) style not drag and zoom style

Yes, when you double tap on the webpage, it'll zoom out and show the whole page in the foreground and the zoomed in part in the background. You have to see to understand. I've tried opera 9.5 beta and netfront. Netfront is better right now for format when zoomed in view, although the latest opera beta is an improvement. Haven't seen skyfire yet, but I've read that it's not living up to the hype.
i love my picsel browser but it used to be slow as hell!! after a rom update and registry tweaks i got it as fast as opera so its sweet!!!! i just wish you could download straight from the browser otherwise id delete opera mobile, but opera mobile is the best browser pound for pound
I am a big fan of irisbrowser
Opera Mobile 9.5 hands down
If you really really use the browser to surf the web, the only real choice is Internet explorer. The others are really fancy but, for the majority of the website, reflow on IE work much better and a lot more stable.
Opera Mobile 9 will be the best when they came out. I am using the beta version it is great! It has zoom capability and reflow together!
Zooming alone like Netfont doesn't help if you really really us it to surf the web.
The other one hasn't been out of beta yet.
skyfire is hands down the best. i have experienced no bugs thus far and have not found a single site that does not work with it.

I just gave Irisbrowser a try. It's suprisingly good and fast. I'm astounded that this is the first time i'm hearing about it.
I find myself using Skyfire for most things. It really works well, especially for Digg and Drudge Report. The only problem is that the code on some pages it seems prevent Skyfire from properly reformatting the text to fit in the zoom window, so you have to scroll all over to read them. The most annoying place this occurs is Google Reader - there is just no good way to view this site on Skyfire that I have found. However, Opera 9.5 can view the iPhone interface of Google Reader (www.google.com/reader/i (instead of /m), so I use that when I'm browsing RSS. The version of Netfront I had was buggy, and cut off my data connection somehow when I minimized the app (couldn't get mail, check the HTC home weather, etc.). Prolly just a bad build, but Skyfire and Opera kill it anyway.
ok i have the verizon vogue or xv6900. what browser is best for that device cuz i went to operamini.com and said this wasnt a compatible device

You must of somehow skipped over the entire thread...........!
So... yeah... I've been trying to find a descent browser, and then I tried the beta of the new opera 9.5 and I loved it! BUT MY KEYBOARD DOESN'T WORK! (my hardware keyboard). And i'm upset! So I tried opera mini! Yeah... That doesn't work either ...
is there a fix for this? Or is there a BROWSER OUT THERE that DOES work for us!? (with a hardware keyboard I mean).
opera v8.65 and netfront v3.33 work fine for me
Pocket internet explorer!!!
nah, I think opera mobile would have the solution

The only problem is that it doesn't integrate very well with the OS . I just wish it would come out in the APP version and I"d pay for that instead of just the Java version.
hey all i have bought myself an qtek s200, now i would have my internet some faster...
is there an browser what's faster then internet explorer?
like firefox?
i have tried minimo, but thats not good to show normal websites...

What I use is UCWEB its the best for me also for the Full PC experience Get Skyfire its a must have also try opera mini & opera mobile there both Great the is a firefox browser but its for Nokia and its in beta so we have to wait for it in the mean time try these ok
Try the Opera 9.5 until the Firefox --> "Fennec" will released...
when will fennec come out, anybody knows about it?
or will it only release for sybian and android/linux?
as far as i know it already works for the Nokia Internet Tablet N810 in a alpha2 version.
SO we have to while. But the Opera 9.5 is not as bad as u maybe suppose. I will use it in the meanwhile.

Opera Mobile eats Ram so be careful you should try opera mini aswell and UCweb and Iris Browser Get Skyfire it Rocks
i would like to test skyfire, but i does not install successfull. Strange.
Could u post a proper .cab? Thx
Try Netfront
Try Netfront 3.5, set it to 'text browsing' and disable all those useless bells and whistles like the fake 3D bookmarks manager. You'll get a very fast browser which enables you to read most useful sites in text mode while allowing you to go 'back' to 'full browsing' (with javascript and all that jazz) to use those few useless sites which insist on it. It has finger scrolling as well. IMnsHO this is currently the best browser for WM devices, beating Opera (memory hog) and PIE (no comment).
The version I linked to is a beta which will run out in a few months, I've been running previous betas for a while now without problems. When the beta runs out there will either be a new beta or the final release. If the latter will run unrestricted I don't know...
