i have found an error in the phone software for Herald/4350. I have the Norwegian version: Rom 1.8.409.1 NOR
The first day I used it i had to call my telephone bank. When you use a service like that, you enter a lot of numbers during the call. After maybe 30 or 40 digits the screen went white with an message, and I was unable to enter any more digits.
What did the message say?
Have you tried to replecate the problem?
Does it happen all the time or just every once in a while?
How did you resolve the problem of the screen being white?

Hi,
On my XDAII (1.72) I sometimes experience a not responding phone/SMS application or radio stack.
People trying to call me are instantly redirected to the voicemail, and if I try to make eiter a call or send a text message, respectively the phone application is stalling or the SMS 'Send' button stays in the 'pressed' state.
Soft-resetting the phone or toggling the 'turn off radio' function re-establishes the radio.
Does anyone knows of a solution?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated and possibly rewarded with a 6-pack Heineken beer
weird, mines just done the same thing. I sent an sms and nothing. I was then taken to the phone screen and it said something like invalid sim something.
I'm wondering if the sim card is not locked in place. I was fiddling around with mine yesterday and maybe forgot to lock the sim card in place.
Just a thought but maybe worth checking
what radio version do you have ? I recently have the problem that when people call me, the ringtone goes for about 2 seconds, then restarts, etc.
Meanwhile I can do nothing ( green button don't work) . When the caller hangs up my phone returns to the normal state.
I use radio 1.18. Thinking of downgrading to 1.17 which people say is more stable.

Hello folks,
I have the same problem now for a week... It's driving me crazy... At
some point in time during the night or the day my Qtek2020 gets weird.
The result is that people trying to call me can't connect but to viocemail,
and I can't receive SMS. The only way I can see that I am having this
problem is that whenever I try to send a SMS I get a message "your SMS
cannot be sent", and if I try to make a call, the phone seems to dial out
normally the first second, but then the DIAL-button (which is color-less)
becomes green again...
Please, if someone knows what's wrong or if someone had the same
problem and solved without having to default the whole thing, please
let me know what is the solution.. It is really annoying, so I now have
to randomly reset my phone throughout the day.
PS: my battery is now on 4% so I have to look for my charger, and
after that I can supply with info about radio-version etc. I am running
WM2003 by the way, and I've had no problems like this before, this
unit has been working fine until now. I guess it's a sw-bug? And I
am also wondering if this problem occurs whenever I pass a place
with low signal.. hmm, it's so annoying..
Thanks for any help!
Fred
I've been having problems similar to the OP for 2-3 weeks now (found this thread in a search before posting). It's damned annoying, as it means you can't really trust your phone - am I meant to reset every morning, or more frequently? It seems an intermittent problem, in so far as I've been receiving and making calls as normal, and then you someone asks 'did you get my text?'. Gritting teeth, you call the phone from a landline to find that calls are going straight to voicemail. After a soft reset all missing texts are received immediately, and calls can again be received.
When in this state other PDA functions seem to work as normal. However, I suspect that the power display is "suspended" too. On performing a soft reset after experiencing this problem today, I immediately got "your battery is extremely low", whereas before the reset I recall it was around 50% (vBar image). As others have stated, one clue that not all is well is that sent texts do not get a "Message sent" confirmation.
I've been racking my brains as to what's changed recently on my PDA. For family reasons I've been making a lot more calls than usual, but I also added TomTom Navigator 5 a couple of months ago, and so have started intermittently using BT. But I don't use Sat Nav that frequently, and this problem seems more prevalent.
I'm conscious that I don't have latest and greatest ROM, etc, but am vary about attempting upgrades without strong reasons.
Has anyone seen and solved this issue?
Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the sim card? After a while dust and general wear and tear can mess them up. Also as it's obviously(?) a phone problem it might be beneficial to call your service provider for a new sim card.
That's what I had to do last week. Wish you the best anyway.
It can't have anything to with the sim card as I'm having this problem with a brand new sim card.
I have a G4 T-mobile Vario (Wizard) that doesn't want to perform any of its "phone" functions. i.e. no calls in/out or text messages etc. The phone itself is on and is showing a full signal but when you try make a call it will start dialing and almost instantaneously hang up again, occasionally with some beeps to imply the call has failed. Has anybody come across anything similar? As far as I know the unit hasn't taken any knocks and all other functions are working okay.
Any help would be appreciated
*Update* Even the GPRS works! I don't understand!
similar problem
im almost having the same problem, mine goes from full bars to zero and back again while the cpu stays at 100% with no signal, yet somehow i can still get edge and connect to the net?
Have you tried flashing to a later radio version, like 2.71? It may solve your problems
ive tried 4 different radio versions.. it seems to me that the software that runs (service?) on the phone at startup that enables it to make voice calls keeps crashing and restarting and ive tried this on 5 different roms too and same result, it usually takes 5 - 10 soft resets, but it pops up and sometimes keeps crashing indefinitely and sometimes it eventually connects.. any ideas?

phone is blacklisted. imei banned
imei blacklisted?
Hi,
I am having the same problem as the first poster of this thread.
My phone is a T-Mobile Vario
SPL 2.021.0001
IPL 2.021.0001
Radio 02.19.11
Protocol version 4.1.13.09
Rom version 2.21.2.6 WWE
Rom Date 3/9/06
Basically, I have what appears to be full signal strength. I make a phone call and it says "dialing" then immediately says "Call Ended" with a 00.00 time for the call.
If the imei is blacklisted is there any way I can get it un-listed?
Or is there some other fix I can use to get it working?
Regards,
John
What is a Blacklistet IMEI? Is it a stolen Device?
G4 with no phone ability
Hi,
Still have the problem posted in my earlier post.
I have tried to contact T-Mobile here in the UK using the "contact us" page, rang the numbers - nothing!!! Their phone system does not work.
They have a phone number listed where you supposedly can register your phone as lost or stolen so they can blacklist it, but the phone number does not work! If you are on T-Mobile you supposedly can phone them using 150 but that doesn't work either! So I can't phone them to ask if my imei number is on their list and if so how I go about getting it removed.
(I bought the phone off e-bay last week, and guess what? The seller hasn't responded to my e-mails asking if he ever made any phone calls using this phone!)
So at present I have a semi BRICK, the PDA part works perfectly well, just the problem with the phone bit.
If anybody has any ideas about what I could / should do next regarding the phone, I would like to hear them!
Regards,
John
Have you tried flashing to a new ROM? Its unlikely that it will work, but perhaps it will solve your problem.
Hey there,
it's me again!
The Wildfire of my girlfriend got another stange behavior:
Since I flashed RUU 1.37 she receives strange sms,all day long (every 5 minutes or so):
A popup comes up, showing a (random) number eg like 3409362712 and there is a "cancel" and "save" button below.
Any idea what that is and more important: how to fix that?
I guess these are "hidden" sms send by the provider, which normaly stay hidden
but thats just a guess...
I'll try to make a screenshot, next time such a sms comes up..
Where did u download the RUU from?
I got mine from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836771 and it works fine with no messages or anything.
Every time I switch off and then back on (reboot) It sends some random sms to my gf, but only to her...
I think I got it...
after a bit of research I found out, that my provider sends the coordinates of the cell I'm currently loged in via cell broadcasting.
So the numbers I get are the locations of the cells.
After I turned CB off, it stopped.
Hello all,
I've been using android on my HD for about a year, and for about 6 months I have been using NAND rather than SD card developed versions.
Please forgive me if this is a post already made, but I have tried looking for solutions via Google, searching the forums.... Lets see if you can help.
I will at times have full signal strength and will have texts repeatedly unable to send. Also, with full strength I'll try to place a call, the call screen opens, and then will either do 1 of 2 things.
1. "Call ended" and it displays the call time, from what appears to be the last call time to that number.
2. Call ended, no notification otherwise.
After I restart my phone, I tend to get out 1 good call before the issue starts again. Texting will also intermittently go in and out. I can send 4 or 5 then the 6th starts having unresolvable issues.
Please, if you could help, or point me to a thread that addresses this I'd really appreciate it.
This is not build-specific. The past 2 have been effected. One was a cyanogen build, the other a Nexus port.
This is horribly frustrating.
Rebooting the phone fixes the issue.
I'm using BoxmaX KS v9.0.Final for SD w/ Kernel TyTung r14 SenBT.
Everything works fine except for the fact that the names of incoming calls aren't displayed, although I have them as a contact. Here is what happens:
1. It takes very long for the phone to actually realize that it is being called (several seconds)
2. The display is turned on and I see the Android robot as picture, the caller number and his name
3. The ringing starts and the name fades
4. I see the robot and the number but no name
The jump from step 2 to 3 happens really fast, so it is impossible to know who calls when the phone is in my pocket upon calling.
The funny thing now is that this only happens when the phone is in standby. When it is awake it nearly immediatly realizes that it is being called and the ringing also starts directly. Name and picture of the caller are displayed.
I have tried several things:
- editing the phone number to different styles (my standard is "+xx (xxx) xxxxxxxxx", i tried "+xxxxxxxxxxxxxx", "0xxxxxxxxxxxx" (without region code) and "+xx-xxx-xxxxxxxxx")
- changing the language, always using my country (I tried English (Germany) and German (Germany))
And of course I searched the forum and other websites and found some threads regarding this problem but nowhere a fix could be found (only sometimes the style of the number helped), and I didn't find this problem to be a specific standby problem.
Edit: Ok, just checked with another friend, he is not displayed when the phone is awake either. He is a phone contact, the other friend (with the bug described above) is Google contact. But I cannot tell right now whether that is just coincidence or not.
