I just loaded my hermes with the new Vodafone ITA rom (OS and extrom, 2.07), but unlike the previous install (WM6 LVSW) now i see in my contacts list both the SIM contacts and the ones synched from my pc Outlook. My desire is to have only the outlook ones. Is there a way to do it without deleting SIM contacts?
ps. sorry if it have been asked before but i tried with a search and got no relvant results.

I recently got the T-Mobile MDA Vario, aka QTec-9100, aka Wizard. The configuration is:
- Windows Mobile 5.1.70
- ROM: 1.3.2.3 NLD
- ActiveSync 4.0.0
I copied contacts (with only phone-numbers) from my old mobile to the MDA-Vario via the SIM-card. Subsequently, I synchronized the contacts on my MDA Vario with the contacts in Outlook on my pc. Note that a lot of the names on my phone and my pc are identical, the difference between them being that the contacts coming from the phone have only a telephone-number, and the contacts in Outlook have only an email-address.
What happened after the first sync is that the contacts from my mobile were duplicated in Outlook. So now I have (both in Outlook and on the MDA-Vario) a list of contacts which contains doube entries for most of the names in the list. I would like the MDA-Vario or the pc to combine the information from 2 identical names into one contact-entry.
I would appreciate any comments.

I just got my HTC Magic today (32B), and managed to debrand and install Cyanagen on there sucesfully. I can setup the exchange sync, and all my emails synch properly,however contacts don't seem to have synched properly. It synchs the names of the contacts fine, but everything else is just added to the "notes" section of a contact, it doesn't copy emails + telephone numbers over at all?
This is connecting to exchange 2007, and works fine on both iPhone and an XDA Orbit that I have? (this is my 1st android phone)
Any ideas?

You need to use a rom that has the new "HTC Mail" application and not the "HTC work for email"

I sync with Exchange via GPRS (it is Kerio MailServer). Everything works fine except contacts - most of them appear twice on my mobile...on desktop Outlook they appear only once as they should...I used to synchronize my previous HTCs (Kaiser, TyTn, TouchPro) without this problem - it appeared just now, once I moved to TouchPro2 (Rhodium) ... the problem appeared also on WM 6.1. I tried to delete my mobile device from server, deleted and recreated an account on TP2 ... no success and I am out of ideas - any hint, please?
I have got almost the same problem. When I sync my phone with Outlook 2007 everything goes well. When I flash a new ROM on my phone and sync again, all my contacts and appointments are duplicated, as well in Outlook as in my phone. I use Duplicates Remover from MapiLab to remove the duplicates. After that Outlook and my phone sync and everything is okay.

I am a new to HTC and WM... I have some number into the SIM card and some number in the outlook contacts. I am using active sync with my corporate connection so all my contacts are in Exchange and syncronized with my PDA.
How I can visualize in the phone contacts only the outlook contant and hide the sim contacts without removing from the SIM.

Dear All,
Previously I am using n70. when I transfer my sim contacts to touch hd, it will show duplicate name for those with more than 1 contact number in it. Now even worse is when I login to MSN, i have all the contact in it as well.. This caused a mess in my directory.
I was told that outlook can help but I am too noob, I couldnt find the directory file from the hp to be import to outlook.
Any other suggestion or proper guide on this?

Euuuh... Outlook is part of M$ Office suite, and is NOT freeware!
AFAIK, SIM can hold only one number/info per entry, so no wonder you have multiple entries per contact.
Normally you would sync your n70 with Outlook, then sort/integrate info about contact in one entry, and then sync with HD.
On HD you will want to store data in phone memory, NOT in SIM...
You could try the same with Outlook Express (which IS freeware)
