Hi again everyone.
Right another problem, dunno whether anyone else has it. Bit of a weird one so bare with me.
I noticed my m700 was sometimes connecting to a connection called "Orange WAP" instead of the default "Orange Internet"
My M3100 does this sometimes as well so i just removed the "Orange WAP" connection on my 3100. On the M700 though the "Orange WAP" connection is not in the list.
I have tried a hard reset and same thing. If you try and create a connection called "Orange WAP" then it says there is already a connection with that name. But it is not there in the list.
The problem is i have no way of stopping it connecting to the wrong connection because i cant see the connection.
I was thinking there must be some keys in the reg that hold all these settings and maybe i could just remove them manually.
Thanks everyone
solved
think I might have solved it in a roundabout way.

Wi Fi connection on SPV M600
Hi, did you ever manage to sort this problem? I have just bought one of these and am experiencing the same difficulties as you.
Any help appreciated
Thankyou
Hi guys.
Little silly question:
What are the settings on your router?
If this is your home network then you typed in the WAP or WEP key to set it up. Otherwise, you don't need one.
Have you even tryed to read the manual? It helps.
wifi connection problems
Hi, maybe i should've explained more
I am trying to connect to my wifi router at home (netgear). My m600 has found the the signal. i tap on the network name and go to the CONFIGURE WIRELESS NETWORK screen,in the GENERAL tab i can see the SSID, i select THE INTERNET from the drop down menu next to "connects to", in the NETWORK KEY tab i set authentication to OPEN, Data encryption to WEP & then enter the network key.
I then go back to the CONFIGURE WIRELESS NETWORK screen and my m600 is trying to connect, then it will say AVAILABLE but not CONNECTED - why is this????
Also, it only stays AVAILABLE for about 30 seconds and then its status changes back to UNAVAILABLE
I really would be most grateful for any help in this matter
Thanks in advance , Jimmy
Sounds like you are typing the key wrong.
Make sure encryption type and key matches exactly the settings on your router.
Try disabling encryption on your router and see if you can connect.
M600 wifi connection problem
Thanks levenum - still no luck though
Although i have managed to connect to my neighbours unsecured network (very poor connection though)
Has wifi connection been explained indepth elsewhere? or am i the only unlucky (retarded) one?
Hang on a second, something I saw in the other thread (somewhere in Network forum):
You need to type the actual key (hex values) and not the pass phrase if you are using one.
Sorry, don't know any guides.
wifi connection problem SORTED!
Cheers levenum,
i dont wanna make myself look a complete idiot so i should say that i did have the proper key typed into the box at 64bit encryption
however, i changed it to 128bit encryption and it connected straight away
I have no idea why
I wonder what i'll be moaning about next???
Hello,
I'm having problem with GRPS on my Qtek 9000.
All the settings are ok, as they are checked on Nokia/Sony Ericcson/IPAQ
We have 6 Qtek 9000 and they all are having the same problem.
When we setup grps and try to connect with IE it just trying to connect and after wile he tells that he is having some problems.
All sim cards as mentioned up are ok and tested to be working for GRPS, on HP IPAQ 6515 GRPS is tested and working ok.
As we determined it seems like he is not trying even to "dial out", when I setup Cellular line to dialout some phone number that also doesn succeed. We tried also with original ROM and the same problems apper
Any idea what could be the problem???

Not an error message I am familiar with.
This is the error message that I get every time:
Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings. If the problem continues, reset your mobile device according to your manufacturer's documentation and try again.
We tried soft reset and hard reset no changes
When have been done one stupid test.
PC speakers when you are connecting with IPAQ you hear the sound on speakers that he is "dialing out"
when you try with qtek nothing as he is even not trying to dial out
Well if your settings are correct and they are entered under the "My ISP" connections and not "My Work Network" and the correct GPRS settings are selected under My ISP->Manage Existing connections. I've no ideas other than to check
Settings->Network Card has My Network Card connects to: the Internet
When I go to:
Settings>Connections>Network Cards>Tab Network adapters
My network card connects to:
The Internet
Tap an adapter to modify ....
Do I need to change something from these settings????
---------------
UPDATE:
When I changed to:
My network card connects to:
Work
Applyed and soft reset
I got the G sign but still no sucess to connect
No it should be internet.
Have you checked that under Settings->Connections->Manage Existing Connections that the correct operator is selected if you have more than one set of GPRS settings.
Do you know if your network uses PAP or CHAP if not try changing to the other one under Settings->Connections->GPRS Setting
Have you tried a 3G sim ?
Other than that nothing I can suggest.
Good luck
When I perform hard reset
Is says work and now i changed to The internet
Well the settings are tryed on the phone and IPAQ everything work well
3G+ Bosnia = NOT GONNA HAPPEN IN 100 years
Authentication is PAP
and there is no username and password nor domain name
Right. I'm trying to manually configure GPRS and MMS on my set. I have the documents needed. However, as I get to the connection naming part, WM2003 is claiming that "A connection already exists with that name".
This is a set from a card that formerly cannot support GPRS and MMS; no other connections have been set at all. I have checked all other connections in the Connections wizard, and ensured that the default My ISP and My Work Network have nothing else set inside.
So far, I've heard that hard resetting the handset will solve this problem. Trouble is, I do NOT want to do that.

Are there any registry values or temp files to clean up regarding connection information? Is there any application that can help me clear lingering connection information? Will the connection work if I simply set it to another name?
Hi,
I have a M700 unlocked from orange. I followed the instructions on flashing the radio and can confirm that the GPS works. I am on T-Mobile "Web and Walk".
I am having problems accessing the internet. I click explorer and navigate to news.bbc.co.uk. A box appears and says "Connecting to Orange WAP, Connecting to GPRS, 3G..". A couple of seconds later the bbc page appears immediately followed by a box that says "Can't Connect. Dialled: The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed tap Settings".
Does anyone know what the problem is?
For example, in settings, Do I need to "Add a new modem connection" or perhaps something in Advanced/Exceptions.
Many thanks for any help.
Your problem is that your M700 still has its settings for Orange, so your internet connection connects to the Orange servers, which take a short time to realise you have a T-Mobile contract, so close the connection,
You must remake all your connections (MMS, Web, WAP etc) to point to T-Mobile's servers, which will then make use of your Web'n'Walk capacity.
Go to HTC's Update Page where there is a link to download a network configuration tool- this has to run from the PC via ActiveSync
i thought u could just set the phone up with T-Mobile access points.
Thats what i did on the phone. Took like 30secs but im on orange.
cheers i will try later
kame1986,
pls can you advise on "T-Mobile access points".
are they on their website. had a good link and cant see anything
I had the 'modem disconnected' problem last week. I could not fathom it from any settings, nor did setting up new connection settings for orange internet or WAP do anything.
So I thought i'd try a good old fashioned soft reset, and hey-presto success!
I get this on my HTC
I get the modem disconect message every now and then, the only way to cure it is to restart and all works fine.
I have also had an issue where the phone wouldnt connect to the network a couple of times, again a restart and all is well.
Hi folks,
yesteray I got a german O2 XDA Guide and i have problems with setting up the Connections. Wi-Fi is correctly configurated and properly connected with my router, but neither IE nor Opera can acces the internet through it. The same case when i try with Network Provider.
The odd thing is, that the "connect with" dropdownlist in "Settings/Wireless configuration" (sorry don´t know the correct engl translation) is empty, though correct SSID is displayed in "Networkname".
Also when i go into "Networkcard configuration" the dropdownlist "connect Networkcard to" is empty for each network adapter.
Is this a bug or did i miss anything? pls help
I´m using ROM version: 1.09.207.5(40104)
It seems the wi-fi is NOT configured correctly.
Try other security settings. Or try no security on the router, see if it works
