I have a magician who did'nt function because the led (the led in the up part, them which is blue, green...and red ) remain led...
in my opinion because it don't function!
Is possible to baypass it?

It is possible to by-pass the LED but that will not solve your problem. The LED turns red when the main battery is totally discharged eventually discharging the backup battery. It also stays red if the unit is plugged to the charger without the main battery installed.

I don't know the stat of the backup battery...

In my opinion the problem is them on the first post...
There's a very small toggle switch on the lower-right hand side when the device is facing down. This switch is usually toggled on when the battery cover is inserted. Most probably, either the tab which triggers the toggle switch or the switch itselft is broken.
Did you try and unlock your phone before this happened???

Help....seems that my Magician is dead....making a long phone call (1 h) after call end, display switch off and Notification led become fix Blue (bluethoot was off) and then i try to hard reset. Led switch off and no results. I try then to put the power supply cable and the led become RED.... !!! (neve seen red.....) pda is not switching on anymore...any details on the reason of this RED light ???....please.....

Red LED means the battery isn't connected or the device can't charge.
Try taking the battery out for a few hours and try to switch the device on again.
My brother in-law had the red LED issue too, we solved it by 'kick starting' the battery with two wires and a 9v battery. (At your own risk of course).

Red Led doesn't mean that the battery is not connect with the device. It simply means the cover is not properly intact. Try taking out the battery off the device, put it back in the slot. Place the cover carefully and completely. And then connect the device to AC power supply. It would definitely come *alive*

so cover is ok...it seems to be properly fixed, even the smal swithch that create some unwanted crash few months ago is now working properly...
i made a 1 h long phone call with battery and charger (usb from pc) and after line felt down, bluetooth led blue on (was off) and screen with phone but no changement by touching it. so switch off by power off and ...dead...now without battery but with charger (or usb from PC) RED led on. With batttery AND charger RED on, and with battery all dead. i cannot reset anyhow with or without battery /charger....need it...sh*t.....(ops...sorry)

what I will suggest is, you should get a new battery instead!!
Got the same problem now!
Both my wife and me got a Magician. Hers is dead now - same symptoms.
First guess was dead battery as well. But I exchanged it with mine fully loaded. No difference!
Usually when you plug the powercord into the device orange flashes up and device boots. Here nothing happens.
I'll have some electrician have a look at both. Maybe he can find the fault by comparison. But I don't expect a lucky outcome.
on back side of ur device when u remove the battery cover, u see a small black switch on the right side just next to the battery.
put the device on charge..with cover off---it will show red light contunuously on.
now manually press gently that black switch and see if ur device starts to charge.
if u see a yellow light any point of time doing this u may have to get this little switch repaired or do a temporary work urself by kepping it at place manually bu something.

Anyway, hers is running again!
Two days ago I took it fully apart. No obvious fault noticeable. I left it the way it was now to prepare it for shipping. Today my wife asked me I should try it just once again. So I held the battery on the connector and plugged the USB cable and then: it booted!
But the internal battery doesn't seem to recover. It stays at 0% (1h "charging" since then).
I have to correct myself: Even the internal battery is charging (but it takes its time).
my magician is also dead and just the red LED is burning when i put it in the USB! Can anybody help me?

your device battery detector switch(little switch) is broken or logged-out of Main Board.
when it broken,the red LED is on at all.

i am opening my jam case,bring the switch out and conecting sides of switch by a piece of wire.now a day there no problem with openning the battery case or.. but my WM cant recognize the battery level.it's alway 0%.and even the charger is connected no orange led i can see.but the charger charge the battery and battery works for more than one day!!!!!!!!
any one with the same problem!????
or any one having solution!

I'm gettingn red led light too when charging from wall outlet. Charging from usb is fine. a weird thing is when my battery came down to 50%, imate jam will shut down and won't successfully reboot. some people from this form mentioned it's an indicator that the battery is dying.

First post here! The charge icon on my 8125 is stuck on the charging icon. Sometimes I can unplug the phone from the charger then click on the battery and it will still show as charging. If that wasnt bad the battery lists as a constant 100% but then dies???? I did a hard reset and all still a no go? Any help?

Have you flashed your rom?......If so re-flash the rom.....if not call the At&t warrenty dept.

Nope no flashing of ROMs here.... too scared lol. I kinda did not want to go through the warranty dept. thought maybe someone else had this problem.

bump for a solution! To add on to my problem the green led stays solid and the screen does not time out (doesnt not dim automatically). When going into my power settings it detects my battery but the power remaining stays at a constant 100%. The battery is the original manufacture battery, no flashing of any sort has been done to the phone. I dont even tamper with the registry. Confused....
update.. I flashed the phone with the offical HTC rom and the problem still remains. Running outta solutions to try. Has no one encountered this problem?
Daily Bump. Could it be a hardware issue?
Bump. I changed the battery with my wifes 8125 still get the charging icon. Clicked on the battery status and it reads as charging? My phone dies very quickly now as the screen does not power save and the LED's remain solid. I also used a cotton swab to clean the usb and battery contacts.
So I said screw it and flashed a newer Radio. 2.69.21 I got the green led to flash now instead of staying solid. The icon still shows as charging but a little closer i guess. But now battery is listed as unknown and there is no battery status.
Hello, i get Qtek from friend which is not working, i want to repair it.
It doesnt turn on, when i push power button, on the all screen appears like white strings and thats all. I have tried soft and hard reset , but nothing to do. The only good thing i see- that when i plug in the charger, red LED turns on.
So where do i could find the problem?
Is that normal- when i put battery into its placce, there immediately red LED turns on? (dont push any of buttons)
the red light means that the battery is dead or no charging...leave it a few hours to charge like so without tryn to turn phone on....also make sure that the red connector which secures the battery in place is functional because there is a switch on the mainboard trigerred by that connector and when it's not locked the phone won't start..

Dear user, does there appears any sign (led changes color or else) when the battery is fully charged?
orange led => battery charging
green led => full charge
red led => battery very low (stay in this until your xda turn on)

Red LED lits continuously. No other signs of life. Tested battery from my device with onother Wizard and all works good (battery is full). Tryed soft and hard reset, nothing.
Is there any other solution than buy a new device.

Hi, I've the same problem on my Kaiser. Yesterday evening I put it charging and this morning phone is dead, only red LED while phone is on the charger.

yes, sorry my english, when the phone is charging, the LED turns green when charged (it only does when off)
It's a known bug. The Phone LED does not turn green when it is charged in the switched off mode. Not too big an issue though, you can switch on the phone and check it.
Currently , there are no known workarounds for that unfortunately.
