hi guys
i have problems with my cingular 8125, i had problems with touchscreen so I opened it cos i thought i'd clean it and resolve the problem.. but I wasnt able..
anyway, I put all pieces together and now it wont recognize on my pc.. i tried reinstalling activesync but it didnt work.. since I need to perform a ROM update, i dont know how can i make it now.. I checked once more the miniusb plug, and its okay... did i bricked smthg in it? when i load bootload mode and connect USB I see USB icon on the bottom of lcd screen, but when i try to run RUU, i get error 260...
how can i flash this friggin ppc? I have no warranty and i still have problems with touchscreen, now even USB...
any help appreciated..

Try reinstalling the standard Cingular/HTC ROM. I had a similar problem, searched tips, and this worked for me, and I could once more go to any ROM I wanted.
i tried that.. tried hard reset dozen times... tryed unchecking all usb connections in AS and than plug in but it wont help...
it gives me USB device not recognized... cmon guys, help me....
im out of ideas...

Wow... that was useful comment...
You could try booting into Safe mode, open up device manager and it will show you all your USB devices, even the ones that are disconnected, uninstall all the activesync/wizard ones and then reboot. Worth a try.

hi folks,
I am in real trouble. while trying to unlock i hard-resetted it, but now the phone is got stuck in tri-colour mode, I don't know what to do. Basically now it went like funny. it would not turn on, while u put it on to charge it will show the tri-colour and also if i leave it on charge it is getting hot. Do u guys recon any chip to be hitted?
if u need to know anything else pls let me know.

Not actually, basically one of my friend tried to unlock it in first place. I don't really know what he did with that. but the phone is totally dead now. If anyone can help me that will be highly appreciated because this phone is not mine, this is customer's.
If he tried to put rom on it what consequence would happen and is there any way to get out of there?

It's me again. I think on this the software is missing. Because if i connect it to the computer it brings on the tri-colour and shows usb connection. So, the software i think missing. If anyone can give me a link how to put the software in there i will appreciate that. But still i am not pretty sure why it is getting hot while charge and why it is not turning on even it charged.

Try it ... search for Tri-Color or Bootloader Mode.
still no solution
No success mate. I have downloaded the mtty. and it says usb port cannot open. but if i go to com3 it allows me to write something over there. i write boot on it but nothing happening , and actually i don't know what would happen?

If you cant ... use a other PC. Vista have some bugs and Windows XP 64 too.
My Phone does not see USB connection for Activesync but is does see it to charge. Also my PC doesn't see my Phone via the USB
What do I need to do to establish a active sync USB connection
It will connect via blue tooth - but I need the connection back.

try to put ure phone in restore or boot screen mode then try to plug it in , coz it happened to me as well , as i m typing now....
That doesn't work.
I have installed a couple of roms since this issue became an issue but i installed them via the microsD.

Are you able to connect usb, and see the contents of mirco sd card
sometimes the "usb to pc" setup may be set to disk content instead of activesync
check : settings/system/usb to pc
Ive had this problem a little over a month now, couldnt find a solution neither. For me an error comes up saying "device not recognised" (i opened up the device, checked for any hardware f ups, couldnt find any.. Although it cant be software either coz if flashed so many times after it with the same problem.. Really weird. If you find a solution, id love to know it to.

I have install roms before the issue and since it happened I have done via the MicrosSD.
There must be a way of sorting this

you could try a task 29 or install a original rom to see if the problem go away

Sorry I cannot connect to my PC in any way other than bluetooth or MicrosSD so I cannot use Task 29.
I'll try a stock rom.
Does anyone know where to find the latest stock ROM from orange UK

Task 29 cannot be done because of the USB port not funtioning.. and flashinga stock rom didnt work, maybe it needs to be done by USB?
BTW, should say this before, once you flash stock, you cant go back to HSPL as HSPL can not be flashed without USB..
hey guys i need help i recently flashed to cloudyfa 2.3 rom and im having problems with it. so i decided to switch over... but in unable to do so because whenever i connect my device in SPL mode to flash rom... i hear the attachment of usb sound but the serial on bottom of screen doesnt change to USB and so forth i cannot flash any rom....
i have HSPL 1.56 .....

hmmmm maybe a strange thing but could you try a usb port that is directly connected to youre mobo like one of them on the back of youre computer and if that doesnt help try a differnet cable on that port

hey chris... glad to see you here... but unfortunately i tried both... different ports and different cables.... the problem still remains... and the worse part is that the current rom im using its not working on my cell at all... cell freezes more than randomly and doesnt even restart. i have to take the battery out wait 10 secs than reinsert to start it again and it keeps messing up my clock time to plus 1 hour even though daylight saving is turned off in this rom
EDIT: Fixed the problem...somehow my htc driver on windows 7 had gotten corrupt... deleted it and reinstalled the drivers and its working fine now... thanks alot for the help CHRIS
Just bought a used HD2 (TMOUS). I checked the bootloader and it already had HSPL installed. However, I wanted to flash stock ROM and do task29 prior to installing HSPL again myself.
I flashed the stock ROM v3.14.531.1 via microSD card method. Then I tried to run task29 and it failed. Bootloader wouldn't detected the USB connection. I also try to install HSPL but it doesn't work. I get an error: USB COnnect Failed!
When I connect to PC or wall charger, the phone charges perfectly fine. I even see the icon that says its connected.
When I am on the bootloader and connect the phone to my PC via USB, the white background area says "Serial" and it doesn't change to "USB".
I tried using different USB cables and also different PC, but still no luck.
What is wrong? Why can't I connect via USB? Help please.
Have you tried droidexployer? Doubt that'll work but worth a shot. What might be wrong is you don't have the proper drivers installed.

Droidexployer is for devices running rooted android. mine is still stuck on windows, i can't install hspl in order to run android...
i am sure its not a driver problem because i have another hd2 which connects perfectly fine.
Have you tried it on a different usb port on the pc? Sometimes one will work while another won't for some reason. Also remember to check the options in ActiveSync or WMDC to ensure usb connections are allowed, seems a stupid mistake, but one I have made myself before. If all that fails, maybe try on a different pc or with a different usb cable. Sorry for the super simple answers, I see you're not a brand new user, but its often these simple little things that hang us up

I seen your comment that said you already had hspl so I just assumed it was on android, sorry. Yea the different usb ports is a great idea if it wasn't for the fact that you even tried it on a different computer as well. Since you said you bought it used would you mind saying where from? I've known people who have problems with they're phone & can't find out how to fix it so they try and sell it on ebay. If you did get it from there the best thing to do is contact the seller and explain your problem. Ask if it had this problem before and say you don't want this phone if it's not repairable. With ebay you only have a short time to file a complaint if it leads to that.

same here but I have EU version of HTC HD2...
also i Have MIUI 1.8.5. Gibgerbread 2.3.5 and same thing with bootloader...when start phone everything works fine !!!

yes able to charge phone....i think its manufacture something cause tryed to connect to other PC with other USB and still same prob.

Get your self a new sparkly xoom and wanna put android on my hd2. Oh well no mobile internet for my xoom. Unless any one knows of any wm6.5 app/prog that'll do it?

Hi guys, i have installed the motion rom but i have one problem the cable of the charge it removes and it gets back(plug and unplugged) i have tried most cable but the problem is not fixed...i have an answer if i install a stock rom with odin the problem can be solved? If you mean that your device cant be charged by anyway try reflashing the ROM i've had this problem too and a reflash fixed it

Seams that the USB port on the phone is sustained a damage a one of the second pair of pins is either burned out or broken & first pair is not in a very good shape either. So the only real solution in your case is to get it to the repair service & get it fixed by replacing the USB port.
By the way this is something you learn to live with Samsung phones (all do it happens & on other brand's).
