I am trying to do online banking using my hermes I can log into my account view everything but when I make a transaction I get the confirmation box (ok to continue) then the next page transaction doesnt go through..!

Just a thought but in 'tweaks2k2' there's an option to make PIE appear to sites as Internet Explorer 6. There maybe a registry setting for this as well. (not saying this would work though!)

Perhaps your bank uses Javascript, which Pocket IE does no support. Try Opera or Netfront, they support JAVA.

Thanks for the tip ill give opera a try, ill report back let you know if this solves my problem.
Yeah it worked ok with Opera so it must be the javascript is there anyway of getting javascript in IE ?
No,IE cannot handle it. IE plug-ins like FTX and PIEPlus also do not handle Java well enough for secure transactions. You better stick with opera
thanks for your help

get this new browser for xda 2
http://nfppc.access.co.jp/english/index.html
and u can access http://go.icq.com and run icq as an applet and problem goes away. make sure in the browser plugin setting u enable JAVA which is packaged with it.
The catch is that the applet consumes about 400 kilobytes when initialized each time, so i tend to leave it running and not close down the browser period. U can log out of java applet and keep it running if u dont also close down the browser.

thanks for your pointer to netfront, but that means i have to pay for something that was previously free - and that's not in my stingy nature

I've got a multi-server running here that you can access it via the imov client if you want, just pm me and I'll set you up an account. I won't guarantee it to be up and connected 100% but I try as it's also where my mail server is.
Since installing Opera 8.5 Beta any links I recieve in emails can't be "clicked through" to either Pocket IE OR Opera 8.5 B
Anyone know whereabouts in the registry I should be looking?
Hmmn...I have the same problem with hyperlinks anywhere not just email.
Having installed so much stuff I couldn't nail it to anything...are you sure this was Opera?
I'm wondering whether getting rid of it will rectify this..have you tried that since you have had no replies...??
I can't believe we are the only 2 that are experiencing this..
As far as I know, it's go to do with the associations with HTTP, HTM and HTML files.
Check the beta feedback forum on my.opera.com for the fix.

Thanks you were right...tho' I didn't manage to find a reference to the problem on Opera site.
I installed Opera 85B on the SD card, and either because the prog is dumb, or I didn't read the install instructions properly (or both), all the associations (http, https, htm, html etc) in the registry thought that Opera was installed on the device not the card.
Once this was sorted all my links work fine.
cheers
Hi, i've got a big problem accessing sites like ebay or libero (for italian people) where i've to insert user and password. when i browse the site everithing is ok but when i try to insert username and password for the authentication it doesn't work and the main page is dislpayed again as one of them is wrong but no error message is shown, simply is reloaded the main page.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
maybe it use java or something pocket internet explore really is not much of a browser anyway
try using opera mobile
Try to install "Opera Mini" broswer which is free and check if your problem is related to IE browser.
Thanks for the answer, i'll go to try and let you know
that's great.

Great. So the issue was missing Java functionality in pIE.
I'm trying hard to like my x1, can anyone help?
Whenever I try to access OWA using either PIE or Opera I get a page cannot be displayed error. Anyone else seen this and got a solution? OWA works fine using my E90 S60 browser.
Thanks, Martyn.
Just tried it on Opera 9.5 build 15202 and it renders really nicely - pleasantly surprised!
Doesn't work in my Opera Mobile. Can't remember the build. It's the one with Manila favs from Itje's thread.
It works nice and is really fast (as always) in latest Opera Mini.

Try Opera Mini.
I'd not like to use Opera Mini for sensible sites
like OWA. It transmits logins over a proxy,i don't
think it's a good idea...
why don't you use Active Sync? You can sync it
manually and e.g. only for the last days. But for
the most it uses less traffic then visiting
the OWA site everyday...
Better yet, set up your push email. It keeps a HTTPS session alive. You just need to install the certificate on your PC to set up the sync, which you can get from OWA.

How?
Will it work without OMA (mobile access)? I don't think so. We don't have a frontend server to support ssl connection from mobile devices, and I'm pretty sure I've tried everything.
If you have a magic way to make it work I would really like to know.
I've been having the same problem...
...and I tried Activesync, but I get a 'certificate' error. I can't figure out how to get the certificate on my device.
I spent days searching the web for an answer... and I gave up after a while.

If you have the .cer file, you just copy it to your device like any other file and run it from there. It should install. I had a few weird cert errors when trying to get mine to work but random poking and prodding seemed to get it up and running eventually.

To be honest, I don't know, I'm not the exchange admin.
My company's fairly tightfisted when it comes to IT expenditure, so I'd be surprised if they forked out anything extra.
A cursory glance at MS's documentation implies that it shouldn't be necessary because as far as the exchange server is concerned, it can't tell the difference between WinMo's client and a regular web browser. I stand to be corrected by someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
Try installing the cert and setting up your server in Active Sync. It should just work.
I had problem in my work getting this working but after a clean install of OWA on our front end server everything worked properly. The only think needed on the X1 was to import the cer file if you going to use Exchange/Active Sync connection as someone has already suggested.
IE and Opera always worked it was just Active Sync which had problems.
I've just recently got an X1 and been trying furiously to get active sync to work. But as I don't have access to the exchange server at work, I've been trying to find out how to obtain a copy of the cert from my outlook.
Haven't been able to find anything, any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Grab the cert from the OWA website, cause it should be SSL encrypted. The browser shows the encryption with a small lock symbol. Click on it an get more information about the cert. When you opened it, open the cert for the CA shown on the last register. In there choose "save to file" and copy it to your phone.
On the phone open the cert with any file explorer, that will import it into the phone's cert store. From now your phone will trust your company internal CA.
This way is only useful, if your company uses self generated certs with an internal CA. You can see this, if your browser at home (the pc there has nothing to do with your company) show an cert warning, if you open the OWA website. If you really can't get acces to this site from the internet, forget all of the above
Brilliant! I'll give that a go when I get home! I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks again mcfisch!
I just realised what I did wrong the first time. Under server, I put the wrong address didn't I. However, I've come across another problem, Where it asks for the login credentials, there' username, password and domain, what do I put under domain?
Its all sorted now! I can't believe I was being such a dumbass! I was over complicating things way too much!
Happy days!!!!!!!!
Hi all,
since a couple of days I have a new HD2 and it's fantastic!
On my old Diamond I was able to enable the NTLM support in Network section of Opera config file but, with a big surprise, in the current configuration (on HD2) the NTLM is missing (in the Network section and other of configuration file).
Since I need authentication for ISA proxy (via NTLM) on company intranet (my connection is through dedicated APN that link directly on company intranet) I can't use Opera on my HD.
Any suggestion or workaround?
IE works corretly but don't suppport multi touch zoom so I would like to use Opera.
The previous version of Opera installed on Diamod (last italian official ROM) work perfectly.
Thanks all!!
I'm interested in this too (just bookmarking the page really).
I use IE as Opera doesn't work, but would rather use Opera. I browse private folders via IIS and don't have the opportunity to log in with Opera.

Doing the same (bookmarking), just for fun I tried to check some webapps on my corporate Intranet set up with IIS integrated authentication and it worked perfectly with IE. I didn't try with Opera. Will do on monday and see if I can come up with a solution

Opera doesn't offer a dialog to enter domain authentication. It just says "the server requested a login authentication method that is not supported."
It seems pretty sure of itself
I'm not entirely happy about this, but there appears to be a workround...
http://forums.asp.net/t/305782.aspx
Doesn't help if you don't have admin rights on the server, of course.
You are right on both accounts! It IS very sure of itself. As MS would say, this is not a bug, this is a feature or this is by design.
As for the workaround, I hadn't seen your post until now and being sysadmin for a lot of IIS servers, I thought about the same solution, tested and it works. I came back here to report about it but you beat me to the post by almost 48 hours -
Anyway, it's not a good solution and not everybody with a HD2 has admin rights on the IIS servers of his company.
So we are stuck with IE until maybe a new version of Opera mobile. After all, Opera on desktops supports it (sort of...)
Ok, thanks for support.
What sounds strange to me, is that Opera installed on my old Diamond implement the NTLM authentication and the version on HD2 (newer) not at all. Moreover I installed the Opera 10 beta and, in this version also, the NTLM support is missing (I don't find it in the configuration file).
Why they removed it?
