and GMT -8 is not tokio (im assuming its tokyo, tokyo is GMT +9), GMT -8 is PST (Canada & USA).
Just stop touching your screen when your calling someone and this problem will disappear...
or you can set both timezone to the same GMT shift.

Hi, I'm new to the whole phone edition thing but i've had my PPCs before.
At the moment I only have one major irritation.
When I recieve calls they are half the time "unknown" that is, I see no caller ID even though i should. When I do get caller IDs they are often wrong. My SIM card is from Denmark but I'm roaming in Belgium. My home number here starts with 0032 2 73 .... but instead my s100 thinks it starts with 0045 2 73... which is the country code for Denmark. Also, I recieved a call from Ireland which normally is +33, but instead it said the number was +40 33. It put the country code for England first. I don't know if its the people i'm roaming under here (i've tried switching between the different operators but it doesn't seem to make a difference).
Got any ideas? Thanks alot.
Also, I've had trouble finding the best way to have alarms. I find it's a problem that the sound level of the alarm depends on what your sound level of the s100 is. So if i forget to put the sound up on it before I go to bed the alarm in the morning might be really low. Got any ideas for that too?
Thanks alot!
Hi,
if got a problem with my magician that I cannot solve:
When I'm on the phone, the magician cuts the call after 8 minutes. Always. I have know idea what to do...
This may be a good thing if you are on the t-mobile network and pay 49cts a minute. But with 3cts a minute, it can be very annoying :?
Any idea anyone???

What is your ROM version?
This is a common problem in lower ROM versions; once you upgrade to at least ROM v1.11.00 WWE it'll be OK.
No, sorry. The ROM Version is 1.12.01 GER... Would an update to 1.13 help? Or is it a problem caused by some software piece included in 1.12 (like the 'photo contacts' problem that causes gprs to block)?
Any idea?

i suffer the same problem...i dunno whether it's 8mins...but it does cut off my call quite often...
and i'm using rom 1.13....
I guess it's not your Magican, who cuts your call. My operator allways cuts my call on 10 minute. I use some phones and have the same thing! May be it's yours operator?!
HELLO
Recently i have purchased HTC TOUCH CRUISE from USA, but I am working with UNITED NATIONS in Pristina KOSOVO in europe. i have installed Google Navigator on it to find Location GPS sometime working very well some times not !! BUT most of the time it shows Monoco in france Location!!! a mean longtitude and latitude ... ..ADDITIONALLY in kosovo we are using VALA sim card that belong to MONOCO in france telecominicaton based in MONOCO because there isnt any telecomminication service here ..on the street people selling VALA sim card and working very well.....
Any way i have used 2-3 different software to make sure GPS is working precisely but most of the time GPS shows MONOCO Longtitude and Latitude and interesting speed Atitude sometimes in the see close Monoco region ...between MONOCO and KOSOVO takes more than 500km ..so it shows different location . Also i have updated quickgps using local internet same...
so what should be a reason !!! how can i solve this problem...
If you answerr to this post i will be really appriciate!
Thank you in advance !!!
Hey all,
I'm using the G1 with Rogers in Canada. I've been having a problem with the timestamping of incoming text messages.
They appear to be time stamped 4.5 hours behind. ex. if i were to get a text message at 8:30 PM, it'll tell me that it was recieved at 4:00 PM which throws off the SMS threading.
Is there any way to fix this? I spoke to TMobile and they told me the problem is carrier related and not in the actual phone. Is this true?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thx

I have this issue when I travel to the Dominican Republic... It is the carrier, for some reason Orange dominicana give me london time on my phone and everythin is screwed up...
I spoke to Rogers multiple times today and got them to do as much as cancel my service and reinstate it. That didn't seem to fix it. They said it might have been a problem with my SIM card so I tried a friends' SIM in my phone and same issue
Is anyone else on the Rogers/Fido network having this problem??
I have been having this problem since I last upgraded my tytnII. I was also told it was Rogers but they have not been able to fix it. If anyone knows anything I would love some info on this issue as well.
Thanks

If it is your carrier most likely the solution will not be from them. For them to solve it would mean they have to update the way their server processes SMS messages.

Those time settings should be coming from the tower you connect to so I'd agree.
try adjusting Settings / Date & Time settings / and manually change the time zone and see if there is any difference.
If not, goto Settings / Date & Time settings / and uncheck Automatic network-provided values and see if there is a difference.
solution
so i found a solution to the problem because rogers tech support are pretty useless lol
i turned off the automatic time updates from the network, set my time to GMT London and then adjusted my time to the current time
then i cleared my call log and all my sms messages (the only 2 things that are time stamped)
and now it all works no thx to rogers

Hi,
I had a problem with my phone that was due to my phone provider.
It seems that some providers (including Bouygues Telecom) are providing sim card that make our device freeze or soft reset it self.
HP did make a pach for that problem but it didn' work for me.
there is only one thing that worked for me that you can also try if you are experiencing the same probleme:
Go to setting>personnal>phone>network selection
choose manual instead of automatic
this solved my problem, I hope it could be usefull for you.
the only issue using this solution is that u cannot go from 3g 2 gprs automatically (like if there are problems with 3g celular antenna..)
im sorry 2 hear my cab did not work 4 u
Hi
I tought it did work because my problem went away.
but last weeks, I traveled out of france and did not knew why I couldn't connect to foreign providers.
so I changed the provider setting to automatic and it did work, I could connect my phone in belgium, holland, and germany without problems.
The problems came back when I came back in France :
soft reset again all the time.
I did re-install your cab then but it didn't solve my probleme.
So I remebered that I changed the setting from manuel to automatic and I did the same from automatic to manual.
since I did that my phone is stable.
thank agains for the work you did with the cab, I don't use 3G beacause I have a very small data plan So I'm happy with my "solution"
try diff rom like fw0.88 or fw89
[dont know what u now have on your device]
maybe coocked rom even
as 4 3g VS gprs ,4 u it is only data transfer speed [i dont think u have higher price 4 using 3g but...]
now I am with the last official ROM from HP and radio firmware 88
In fact when I bought it, I flashed it whith a cooked rom and had my softreset problem.
So I decided to come back to official ROM for a time to test what's wrong on my device.
Now that I know, I might try an other upgrade, but I'm lazy (I did pass some time to set up my mobil shell).
I'll let you know if I find anything new.
I've tried your way and it work for me about for 2-3 days(because in big city i've gote 3G network)but after 3 days ,i went to smaller town ,and there's no 3G network. When i want to use my phone i was make to go to 2g network and... again same problem soft resets one, after one.
