How many of you thought AKU 3.3 was going to fix VoiceCommand v1.6? I DID, and so far, it's the same crap. I see no difference in the VoiceCommand 1.6 with this new AKU. I thought for sure I'd start hearing the anouncements over my BT headset.
What do we need to get this application to work right? Is it a bluetooth driver issue? I read somewhere that Bluetooth 2.0 is provisioned differently (DLL's arn't standard.)
I'd like to get a thred started to maybe pull Bluetooth DLL's off of phones that have AKU 3.3 where the bluetooth headset works properly with VoiceCommand v1.6.

I also expected AKU 3.3 to solve the problem with MS Voice Command 1.6. But I'm in the same boat as you are. And it's strange because everything was programmed by Microsoft: bluetooth stack, WM Mobile and VC 1.6
Probably by different teams (AKA left and right hand, if you understand that phrase).

Ok, so MS and HTC aren't playing well. And here we get this shiny new upgraded rom. MS and HTC SAY they are working on it, but as long as this issue has existed, I find it hard to believe they have even made the attempt.
This ROM SHOULD have fixed everything, and yet we are stuck.
I personally have given up hope of it ever working correctly (at least by MS or HTC's work) I will continue working on a fix that WORKS 100%, I've been getting closer, but It will take some time.

Have you installed M$ VoiceCommand v1.6?
The problem is with Bluetooth.
The first feature of v1.6 is that you can place calls with a Bluetooth headset. However, when you activate the headset, the audio is still routed through the Pocket PC and not the headset.
The second feature is that notifications are to be routed through the headset. This doesn't happen either. THe headset activates, the audio is still routed through the device.
Microsoft said that it was because of two things, 1. AKU 2.3 is an issue. 2. HTC modded bluetooth stack on AKU 2.3. Both said that feature works with AKU 3.3.
Now that AKU 3.3 is out, nothing has changed. No improvements with Bluetooth Stereo, and no improvements to make VoiceCommand work.

I'm having the same problem although I was about to go to AKU 3.3 to try to fix it, I haven't yet. Honestly this is the only thing bugging me about my phone right now.
I have an 8125 with AKU 3.3 that works the way everyone in this thread wants their 8525 to work. Is there anything anyone could suggest looking at for comparison between the two (specific registry keys, etc.) in order to find out what we need to do to make it work?
Has anyone tried this with the RUU load of the Cingular ROM. It has a ver different radio that contains the Bluetooth stack?
Just a thought.

I see, thanks. It sounds bad- however I have used mine with a SE headset and IIRC when I tested voice dialing it worked fine... will test it again...
Confirmed: Voice Speed Dialing working fine here with a SonyEricsson HBH-GV435 headset.
I press the top button on the headset, I hear a beep first in my ear then I hear the typical dull 'noise' sound of VSD (both in my ear and from the TyTn), signaling I should start speaking (VSD simultaneously displayed on TyTn), I speak (into my headset), it recognizes and plays it back into my ear and launches the call. When other party picks up we talk via my headset. When we're done, I press the top button on my headset again and call ends.
Isn't this what you're looking for? I mean I understand it's not actually MSVC but in terms of functionality...? What extra MSVC offers if there's any?

Ok, this is NOT happening for me. I have a Jabra XJ10, a Cingular 8525 with the stock ROM (forget the version but it's 09/2006). I assume the other people in this thread are having the same issue I am, which is, they can speak INTO the headset but the confirmation (the robot voice that asks you "call blah blah at work, or mobile?") does NOT play back through the BT headset. I can only hear it through the built-in speaker.
After it dials, BT audio works properly as usual.
So, once again, everything works except the robotic voice is never played through the BT headset.
The OEM Cyberon dialer is crap -- and it requires voice-tagging all of the contacts you'd like to call.
This is one of the biggest reasons to want to use MSVC...

No one is talking about AKU 3.3 and VoiceCommand in that thread. A new thread that is specific to AKU 3.3 and a TyTN/Hermes is justified. Did you even read that thread?

szlevi, the issue is not with the built-in Voice Speed Dial. It's with the after market product Microsoft Voice Command (you have to purchase it separately).
I agree with everyone else. I was under the impression that AKU 3.3 was supposed to fix this, as M$ implied it was an OEM problem. I'm really ticked that HTC haven't fixed it yet. They're becoming even less responsive than ever.

The AKU 3.3 rom is not finished, or even in polished condition. Heck - that's why it's called a LEAK. Why get all bent out of shape about something that isn't finished.

You may be correct teknics, but I don't think so. Usually when HTC provides ROMs to carriers for testing, it's the final product that will end up being the shipping version. The only thing that will make HTC release a newer version is if the carrier finds a "show stopper" that will prevent them from releasing that version. A carrier will not retest a version just because it changed from "TEST" to "SHIP", they'll want to see that the version numbers are still the same.
Nevertheless, it's still unexcusable that we have had to wait this long for a fix, whether it is M$'s problem or HTC's.

I just installed the newest Cingular test rom and VC does work with the hack located in the link above. I am using version 9f. I have not tried notifications but I'm sure they don't work correctly.

I've got a problem with Dopod 818 Pro's voice command software.
The software that is use is Cyberon VC 1.6, which is different from Jamin's Voice Speed Dial 1.1
Using Jamin's Voice Speed Dial 1.1 (I've flashed Jamin's rom), I can use bluetooth headset button to activate and dial very successfully every time.
However, when using Dopod's software (Cyberon VC 1.6), I can only activate the voice command once using my bluetooth headset's button. After that I cannot use it anymore and have to reboot the Dopod in order to make it work again. I noticed that after the headset is turned on, it never turns off again using this software.
I'm using a SC HBH-662, 818 Pro AKU2 WWE.
Do anyone experiences this problem? Is it a problem with my Headset instead of a software problem. (I'd need to consider replacing my bluetooth headset). If everyone is experiencing this problem with Dopod, then I think it is probably a software problem, or there are any registry setting that I can use to fix it?
I have noticed the same problem, though not everytime. It seems that if you use the software to dial a phone number, and then end the call, the headset shuts off and may or may not work again with voicecommand.
Anyway, yes, it's weird. I'm using a SE bluetooth headset as well, but I think it's software related.
Anyone not using Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset having the same problem? If yes, I think I'll just downgrade it back to imate rom.

I just loaded the new Dopod ROM and selected the few files from Ext ROM that I wanted and noticed that Cyberon Voice Commander worked once with the bluetooth headset (nxZen) then refused to work after that. Hopefully some genius here can help figure this out. Cyberon's VC seems really good, just need it to work over bluetooth.

AX2 and Plantronics Voyager same issue. I think it is similiar to the issue people are having with MS Voice Command on the Wizard using the Reg hack to redirect the BT Headset button to activate VC
I'm having the EXACT same problem, with the same headset (hbh662). Interestingly enough, I installed MS Voice Command side-by-side with Voice Commander. Once you activate Voice Commander the first time (and it makes the audio gateway connection to the BT headset), you can use MS Voice Command to issue commands through the headset. The problem is that it seems to only be able to do this once, and then you have to reset. The other thing I've noticed is that all audio is rerouted through the headset; if your phone rings while the BT gateway is active, you will only hear it in the headset (but you get to hear Voice Command anounce the caller). Ah well, at least it works for about 10 minutes per reset. :?
I have exactly the same problem with you guys with my SE HBH-610a and i.Tech Clip R35, and some other SE and i.Tech models which I have also tried. Can only activate once, and will not work again until a soft-reset. This has been like that since the shipped ROM, and the new ROM didn't fix this problem.
Voice command over BT on the i-Mate AKU2 rom works great though, and works 100% of the time!! Though both from same company Cyberon, the one on Dopod is VOICE COMMANDER, and the one on Imate is VOICE SPEED DIAL.
I have tried un-installing Voice Commander from my Dopod and installing Voice Speed Dial (from hack in this forum), but didn't get voicedialling over BT to work this way on the Dopod. Sigh!!
Has anyone contacted Dopod on this matter? If I-mate can implement Voicedialling over BT correctly, I don't see why Dopod can't!! I will write to Dopod. Can't imagine calling their hotline again...the last time I called, I had to wait at least 50mins before my call was answered.

I have Qtek s100 since exactly 2 years. I am very happy and even after relasing so many HTC PDA phones after that, I really did not think of changing my phone. Now I see P3600 as probable candidate to replace my S100. But in addition to size and processor, I would also be looking at some key features as justification to change. I am not going to use 3G or 2MP camera. so, lets narrow down to Free/very cheap phone function on this phone.
- anybody tried to install Skype client to make audio calls on wifi connection?
- Also anybody checked function of SIP voip client like SJPhone again using wifi?
If these features are going to have problem with.. I would still stay back with S100 happily.

This is only available on the Eten X500. I finally decided to get this instead of the Trinity coz I dun use the 3G and the GPS is a lot better on the X500.

It is a limitation in Skype. Try using a headset. Not BT though, since the processor can't handle both Skype and BT headset at the same time..
With my LOOX 720, we also have a "large" speaker (badly positioned even if you wanted to ignore that it is a loudspeaker and put it in your ear) and a small "phone" speaker (placed correctly where you would put your ear), although FSC never released any VoIP app for the device (and LOOX is not a phone).
Skype (and other VoIP apps) worked as you say. Audio was coming out of the main speaker, plus they (Skype) ignored our requests to use the correct speaker (or didn't know what to do about it).
Then some guys noticed that the small speaker was ALWAYS outputing audio (in apps/games etc.), but since it is a small phone speaker, you have to put your ear on to hear it. Also this gives more "depth" in 720 audio (since the tiny speaker does its part). Anyway, that was an interesting discovery because it led to research that gave something more important:
A simple registry entry could shut-off the main speaker while keeping the phone speaker working! No need for soft reset or anything! Some even made a little program for this (which also keeps different volume levels for when on and off since eg. I want volume=2 when loudspeaker is on and volume=4 when only ear speaker is on). Toggle it whenever we want (I have a shortcut in my today screen for it).
So I am thinking... look for something like that in Trinity also? It should even be simpler because I am sure Trinity has pretty clear and distinct volume values for both speakers (since this IS a phone after all).
Maybe a shortcut to a registry key could allow to control the speaker volume... like in the loox. I'll try to search registry... Anyway, this is a known issue for skype, so probably they will be working on that on future releases, maybe it needs customization for every particular model. _http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=71698
Skype and Bluetooth
I use a stereo BT headset and it works great (iTech clip S38). I used another program to toggle, but battery life went to a couple of hours, even when not in use. If you Skype a lot, or even once on an international trip, the cost is well justified.

It is possible now with the last final (not beta) version of Skype (2.2.20 or something like that).
The problem is, this final version doesn't work for all phones. You can see the list of supported devices on Skype download page.
The Trinity is not supported on this final version. You can only use chat function, and when you place a voice call, the application automatically shut down.
That's why we keep running the previous beta versions, which work fine, but the sound come from the back speaker
I tried this final version on my wizard, and I confirm that the sound does come from the ear-piece, for the first time in skype history. But strangely enough, this 'new' skype is only compatible with 'old' phones...

I think something goes wrong when the Bluetooth stack tries transfer the Skype audio to the Bluetooth headsets it gets all messed up with lots of echoes and sound disconnects and, latency and so on. However playing any multimedia files on the phone work perfectly through my A2DP Bluetooth headset.
Like a said SkypeForPocketPC-2.2.0.18-Beta.cab works perfectly only when you use the corded headset that attaches to the mini usb on the phone, or just the speaker that is on the back of the phone the “external speaker”.
I have also tried to use a whole bunch of 3rd party applications that redirected the sound to my older mono headsets. I tried three of them, and that did not work either. It’s something when the speaker sound gets transferd to any BT device.

I Just got an ETEN x800 and istalled the Skype Switch and took skype for a test run ,, ya,ya, the sound gets redirected to the earpiece,,, ya, but it sonds like sh_t also..

DTMF ,Fring, PPC Skype, And A2DP.
For the Skype sound problem not going through the BT headset someone on this site suggested using fring which is a fantastic idea, however it’s always something... with fring you can place a Skype out call but during the call you can’t navigate company’s phone menu during the call like, “press 1 for billing” “press 2 for sales”. Is there a way to transmit a DTMF signal to the input of a Bluetooth A2DP headset? I don’t mean literally, just a sound redirect, in other words trick it into thinking it’s me making the DTMF sound.
I can’t find anything on the net except for Dial-a-matic, which will not work. I also took a look at Pocket Dialer v1.03 but there is no way to redirect sound. I also thought that maybe Kai’s ContactDialer would work but I don’t think it does, or I don’t understand how to use it and get it to work.
I also wonder if all of these problems are salved on WM6 I was looking at upgrading to the new HTC P3470 but the processor is slower than the p3600.
God,, do I want to get rid of that stupid weird mini HTC usb headset, ridicules for a $700 phone.

I know this has been covered a bit but I have a quick question. MS is saying you need to have AKU 3.2 to get VC to announce caller's over your BT Headset. Has anyone found a simple way to make this work on an earlier ROM. Lately I've been running mostly Molski's ROM, but I dabbled in Faria's 3.2. I swore I had BT working totally with a 2.26 ROM, but am I on crack?
I liked Faria's 3.2 but I was missing too many calls. Is there any way to upgrade just teh BT in an older ROM to make this work. (I'm sure my inexperience shows in this question. If its impossible to do, just say the word and I'll patiently wait for a new 3.2 or 3.5 ROM or just forget about this)
I have two answers to your question.
The first is use the A2DP hack found in this forum and get a stereo bluetooth headset. The iTech Clip R35 or S35 both come with the two headphones; one with only one earbud, so you aren't covering both your ears. When you have a stereo bluetooth headset, all sound, including the calls from MS Voice Command are redirected to your headset.
The second is use the program found here:

It basically redirects all sound to bluetooth (probably a cheaper and easier fix); I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like it might be the solution you are looking for.
I also liked having the feature of calls announced through bluetooth, but it never did seem to work. I have been meaning to download the program from the site, but just haven't gotten chance. If you try it, let me know if it works.

I've used BT audio with v1.5, and it wasnt for me. i still use it to listen to podcasts via my headset on occasion though.
The nice thing about 1.6 when it was working (mist have been with Faria's ROM) was that I didn't hear my normal phone ringtone through the headset. It rang like normal through my headset, but it would announce the callers name. Its a cool feature.
edit: I must have been wrong. It does divert the ringtone through your headset as well. This gives me hope that I can work somethign out using BTAudio.
Yeah it is a cool feature. You can go to the notification settings in voice command (Settings -> Personal -> Voice Command) and change it so that notifications are done when bluetooth is available (the second radio button). If the notifications cannot sound through your headset, they will come from the phone speaker so you will still be able to hear who is calling without looking at your phone. Doesn't really help if your phone is in your pocket or if you can't hear it, but I guess its the next best alternative.
I have a cooked T-mobile 2.26 ROM and use MS VC 1.6 over my BT205 no problems. I was previously using the original O2 rom and has it working on that too so both an AKU2.0 and an AKU2.3 work fine. To install try this:
remove VC if installed
remove headset pairing
soft reset
create headset pair and leave it switched on
install vc1.6
soft reset

I'm not having trouble using BT with VC. I want the Incoming call announcements to come over BT.
I installed Farias 3.2 and it worked, but I decided its not a huge deal. I'll try playing around looking at some of teh links here and see if I can't work somethign out. Thanks everyone.
I would also love for voice command 1.6 to announce incoming calls to my bluetooth headset. Interestingly, low battery announcements come through the bluetooth headset, but not incoming calls. Hmmm. Any suggestions/luck getting this to work?

Just wanted to let everyone know I tried it out today and it works as expected. Phone audio gets redirected to BT headset on incoming calls.
but does the ringer get re-directed also? cuz if so thats DAMN ANNOYING!

I had troubles with VC 1.6 at first, but now it seems to work OK. Maybe I accidentally followed Riptos's instructions. Don't know.
Also BTAudio is working to redirect audio when I want that to happen, since VC now closes the audio after it finishes.
The only remaining minor glitch is that after giving a dial command, the little simulated dialing noise comes over the phone speaker not the headphone. So if the phone isn't right by, I don't always know whether it has dialed or not.
Any suggestions?
I tried the CallerID program. It works just as described. The only thing is that is takes up ~443.48 KB at startup. I just installed it so I don't know if it increases after a while.
I have a question. If I understand everything correctly, with a AKU 3.2 ROM this CallerID program isn't necessary if I want to get Incoming Call Announcements over Bluetooth. Right??
Has anyone gotten VC 1.6 to announce incoming calls over a STEREO Bluetooth headset? Seems like the discussions have only been for a hands free device. Anyone?
I don't have a 3.XX ROM and Voice Command notifications work on my stereo bluetooth headset without the program because I think wtih stereo bluetooth, all sound is redirected to the headset. I didn't do anything or change any settings, it just worked. I obviously have the A2DP hack installed, but that's it.

I have a Cingular 8525 (Hermes 100/TYTN, I believe) running WM5 on the stock ROM from Cingular/AT&T (the recently upgraded one). I am trying to redirect all audio output, no matter what it is, to my Plantronics Model 340 headset. This is a monaural headset, but I don't care, because all I want to do is listen to voice podcasts and audio quality is not an issue.
A few people have told me about the program "BTAudio," but I tried this and it doesn't appear to work on my phone. Running the BTAudioOn program produces a soft hiss in the headset, but other than that you hear nothing through it. BTAudioOff turns off the hiss.
I thought that maybe this would work better with the WIDCOMM stack that you folks have been working on, but I can't find an actual install guide for that or anything saying "hey, this is ready to go and you should use it now."

Thanks! anyone else have other ideas? I would prefer not to go with trialware as there exist other solutions that work fine on other handsets.
I feel like there's just one little thing I'd have to tweak somewhere to get it to work, if only I knew what it was.
Actually, a couple of things happened here:
1) At first it didn't work.
2) Then I held down the button on my headset, and the Voice Speed Dial application started itself, all the audio was redirected to the headset for about 5 seconds, and then it stopped.
3) Then THIS stopped and wouldn't work anymore. Then when I pressed the "play" button in the Today screen plugin, it started working (for the two-minute trial period). I haven't been able to make it work again since.
I think there is some chance I could make this work if I could disable the Voice Speed Dial application, but I don't know how :-/

i just got my first bt headset, its an anycom aris21.
the pairing with my blueangel worked like a charm, but after a day of useage, i noticed several issues i kinda dislike....
- i can not start a call (start phone) with my headset, when blueangel is not in PHONE menu! is this normal? can this be changed?
- how can i disable the phone's speaker (and mic), when using the headset? its pretty anoying to know, that the caller could be heard by bystanders...
- people seem to have problems hearing me! can i change the microfone volume of the bluetooth headset on the ba?
- how can i find out what BT stack i have?
- i have now helmi_c's WM06 installed, no changes to bluetooth made.
what recommended changes/updates/patches/... should i try for better performance?!
what to install for best results?!? is that BroadcomBT1.7 still the way to go? what cabs do I need?!
i know, that some issues have already been adressed, but things are changing so fast here, that i have problems being up to date about all issues! so forgive my ignorance and please help me!

Yeh, the Blue Angel is a bit strange with some bluetooth devices.
I have the following issues with WM6 on my BA, which did not exist with 2003SE:
1) When Bluetooth is active, the device turns on by itself every minute or so. I understand that this is a hacked "feature" to prevent the bluetooth from turning itself off. This is probably the most annoying thing about WM5/WM6. Is there any fix I am not aware of?
2) When I start from scratch and pair my carkit (Parrot), everything works OK, except that BA's sound putput, i.e. for Microsoft Voice Command, is coming from the BA instead of the car kit. This is too low a volume, to be clearly understandable in a car. With my Universal (also on WM6) this does not happen.
3) After pairing my Asus GPS, nothing works. If I delete all paired devices and just pair my Asus without being in range of the car kit, it will work. If both devices are turned on (car kit and GPS Receiver), none works properly.
I don't use my BA on a regular basis anymore, because I have my Universal, which works flawless. However, I see no paint in upgrading to WM5/WM6 if one ends up with LESS functionality than the original 2003SE.
The only feature I will be missing is the fact that no RAM memory is used, which means one does not loose everything when the battery drains.
Are there any tips to solve these three problems?
The WLAN "bug" is not really a problem: even with 2003SE I had to occasionaly start and restart the WLAN for it to work properly.

1. Same here; i think is my hands free set limitation.
2. I get the same using the Broadcomm stack; use the MS stack.
3. Depends; if you use Broadcomm/Widcomm, you have an "about" box; if you use MS, i don't know.
4. i get it working, but with audio in hands free AND speakers; annoying.
5. don't know, try Google.

What Bluetooth Stack you use ?
First, I use the existing MS Stack on Helmi WM6. BT GPS and Handsfree couldn't run at the same time.
Second, I use Broadcomm Stack 1.71. BT GPS and BT Stereo could run at the same time, but Hands-free function didn't run at all.
Give me a light please.

A few of your problems could be from the bluetooth headset you are using now-- such as when people can not hear you clearly. I currently have a sound id sm100 bluetooth headset and it works flawlessly....although i still can not activate voice calling from it(it activates it on my BA so i have to talk into my BA and not my headset). It could just be your headset.

Yeah, Bluetooth in BA really sux... you have to choose your bt handsfree wisely, make sure you try it on BA properly before buying it... currently I am using i clip II mini, and it is giving me the same behaviour as shazzy84's

Well I found a way to solve the BTA2DP problem. It supports stereo & is just fantastic. you can find these by the following link http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware & this software works too http://www.trianglepowers.com/PPC/ViewApp.aspx?ID=52 (have to register to download). I prefer Teksoft freeware as I am using it. Sometimes it takes a while after a few toggle u get it right
