I am very impressed with what you guys are doing...a real credit to the world of pda's. I am pleased to say that i have manged to unlock my xda lls, but i have just got a xda exec, and was wondering is there any way to unlock it rather than having to ring o2 to do it???
What makes you think it's locked?
If you read these forums you'll find that all O2 Execs sold so far don't have a SIM lock. Have you tried another SIM in your phone? It should work.
@Rolexx,
welcome. Are you sure your Exec is locked? Which network are you trying to use in which country? My Exec, purchased two weeks ago, is not locked.
Sorry to ask such basic questions
Right about now i feel like the blond that rang up pc support to complain about her computer not working and the first question they asked her was, is it plugged in??? To which she replied "ooops".
I just checked#, and it works. I think it was cos i automatically assumed it didnt. Sorry guys/girls....
lmao
hahaah coool..
strange you ask it without testing though ... i myself would always check first haha
this one was one of the best around here !
thanks for it
Well everyone, I did it! I managed to get the Cingular 8125 for $314.00 shipped next day from cingular. Got lucky with a nice sales rep.
Being that I am on the former AT&T wireless, I need to unlock this thing!
So, I am pretty much starving for knowledge here. I've combed the forum with little luck.
Anyone care to help out?
I am interested in Carrier Unlocking, and CID unlocking, flashing with button's cooked rom (which i was told to do but have no clue where to find this) , flash with radio rom 1.13. Any help would be awesome!
Thanks very much! Im very excited here!
Looking forward to responses.
Dan
I guess something i am not quite up to speed with is the phone also being the "wizard"
what else is this thing refered to?
I found the lokwiz post about unlocking. Is this what I will need for the 8125?
I just want to make sure Im doing this stuff right.
Tomorrow the phone is supposed to arrive, and I just wanna be ready to do what is neccessary to get it up and running
Thanks.
You got the phone for $314 with or without a contract? If you got it for $314 without a contract, please let me know how you did it and the name of the sales rep and everything. I really really want this phone badly and I don't want to get a new contract. And by the way, lokiwiz is the right program you need to unlock it. The 8125 is based on the original hardware called "Wizard." Lokwiz will work on any phone based on the "Wizard".
lokwiz is he right ting, unlocked my 8125 a couple of days ago.
Hi guys!
Well, I started with an SX-66 Blue Angel, and for the past year, have been enjoying my Cingular 8125.
It's a little slow; wifi takes some time to connect; the screen could be bigger, but overall, I am pleased with the device.
I am up here in Canada, on the Rogers network.
Now, I have to get a new PocketPC...
I was wondering if I should get another 8125, and just "be happy" that it works alright, ORRRRR, should I spend an extra $200 and go with the TYTN???
If anyone can offer any insight, it would help me greatly.
I usually think "NEWEST AND LATEST IS BETTER!!!" but lately, I have had some issues with that train of thought. I'll upgrade something only to think, "Darn! This one is missing feature XYZ!"
So, if anyone has gone from a Wizard to a Hermes, please let me know your thoughts, especially if you use Rogers as your GSM/GPRS provider!
Thanks so much!
Mike

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi all,
Just a quick question - does anyone know of any Australian X7501 vendors?
Or should I give up looking here and just track one down on eBay?
Thanks!
DMcG
Yeah it is better to give up.. get on ebay.. or asking a friend to bring u one from oversea..
i think australia will have to some time iwht iphone of even later
Cool, thanks.
The reason was that HTC has not plan of bringing it to Australia/New Zealand.
I had an email asking them exactly this question way back in March/April. They said that Telcos there wanted to charge them an arm and leg for "testing fee", which HTC absolutely refused to pay. That was one of the key reasons for not bringing it in. I don't understand the political and commercial side of these things, so I mine from Singapore. As it turned out, the connection to Telco was totally a non-issue, so I did'nt know what testing and configuration they were talking about.
The only problem is warranty. If anything goes wrong, I'd have to sent it back to Singapore. Touch wood, so far there has been no problem.
Wow, really? That's perverse. "Testing fee".... bloody hell! I wonder if that'll happen with the iPhone?
Thanks for the info! Answered a few questions.
OK, I finally got my hands around 1 and I want it. But I am in a contract with TMO, and I need a step by step (if willing and able) on how to obtain the phone (without contract obligations) and be able to use it on TMobile Service.
I want to drop the G1 (Dream) for it.
Any suggestions?
Don't know if you still care about this, seeing as how it's months old but I had a friend ask the same question. I did a little research and as of right now everyone is saying it's not gonna happen.
Unlocked GSM Palm Pre is selling on few sites. Has anyone bought it yet?
This is way not the right forum.
