hi i flashed my rom a while ago and have been looking for a solution since my charmer will only work whilst plugged into the mains and not on battery or whilst conneted to a pc is there a way i can fix so it will work off of the battery or even a way of flashing the charner through an s.d card. thanks for any help or suggestions you may have.
one idea i had was to maybee reload the regestry with a registery of a working charmer if any one would be kind enough to put a copy of there exported registery i would be most gratefull.
I have the same problem. My idea was to replace the battery dll from the dud ROM with one that works with a charmer then get the battery charged up and perform a shipped ROM restore once it was over 50%.
Anyone able to send the battery dll to me at andystt(at)vvoc.com. I'll report back to let you know how I get on.

Hi,
I have an unlocked wizard (MDA Vario) which worked perfectly for several weeks.
It was switched off, I thought because of an empty battery. I attempted to restart 3 times but it hanged during bootscreen ...
But the big problem is that nothing happens when I connect it to my pc to recharge, it doesn't even seem to charge when I connect it to the adaptor to recharge
So if it's a hardware failure, I cannot return it under warranty because in this situation I cannot relock it .
Can anybody help me out pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase ?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Stoffel
Im having the same problem... alomost.
My bettery died and then it wouldnt start or charge. I was told to take the battery out and grab an old charger and expose the wires and directly apply the wires to the battery. It worked but my 9100 died again beofer it could fully boot and it still wont charge. I have tried the wire to battery charging method again and it doesnt seem to work anymore.
You may want to give it a try??
Out of curiosity, what ROM do you have installed?
Thanks to Dalamario the problem is fixed ...
He provided this link with an easy solution for this very annoying problem . I really thought my device or battery was defect

HI I am not sure whether I shorted the phone or whether I shorted the battery. Can anyone remove their battery and plug it in to a charger and see if turns on? I know that for my HTC Prophet, it DOES turn on without a battery when plugged to a charger. Mine doesn't turn on and I am hoping that it is shorted so I can return it to Cingular for a new one. I tried to downgrade the ROM and bricked it and shorted it in the process. Please help, I would really REALLY REALLY appreciate it. Does anyone know how to short the device just in case its just the battery so that when Cingular puts in a new battery to test it they won't know I tried to install a different ROM and void warranty???
PLEASE HELP ...PLEASEE!!!!!!!ANYONE????
mine will NOT turn on without the battery in it and the charger plugged in to it
Any ideas how to short it??? I think I just shorted the battery and not the device. Any way for Cingular not to find out I tried to do a ROM downgrade?? I need some ideas!!! I am so desparate right now. Can't believe I killed my phone!!! i loved it. Cingular is already sending me an exchange, so i really need to find a way to cover my tracks.
My sister's Cingular 8125 turned on.. anyone else

hi all,
hope someone can help.
For the last few months my Atom has been , lets say "tricky " to charge.
The red LED will flicker on and off, and sometimes it will be on, yet not charge.
On inspection , it thinks it is sync-ing, but connected to wall charger.
Manually ending sync program will fix this, but strange.
Is my Atom on the way out ?
The USB connection needs wiggling to get to work .
I have replaced the battery , so thats not the problem ,
and help/sugestions would be apreciated ,
cheers.
running WM6 exec rom , but had same problems with MW5.
Anyone ??????????????????????????

Same Problem with the battery
Hi, everybody. I'm the new guys on this forum. I need some help. When I use the internet function to download file or something around 40 minutes, the battery cannot be charged. At the first time I taught the battery has broken or the usb cable. So I bought a new battery to try download file again but the problem is the same cannot charge the battery. The conclusion of this problem only when I download file, if i didn't download no problem the battery can charge normally. Did somebody ever get this problem? I tried to upgrade rom but the problem is not solve make me add problem. The new rom make the atom life always hang so I downgrade the rom. Please help me btw sorry my english is very bad Thanks
hi every1,
i kno theres some very clever guys on this forum as many of my past problems i have been able 2 find fixes for. I hav searched the web but can't find much info on my latest problem and the info i hav found hasnt been very useful.
The problem i have is that a couple of days ago i put my tytn on charge when i returned to hopefully find it fully charged it had totally run out of battery and wouldn't turn on. with a bit of trial and error i managed 2 get it to turn on for a bit when plugged in - looked at the power meter and it said 0%. my first thought was that it must be a battery fault so i bought a new battery but i still can't charge my phone. I've tried it plugged into the mains and also through usb connection to my laptop and both have the same effect.
the problem has really puzzled me because i am able to transfer files through usb but cannot charge the phone. when i plug it in i initially get a red light but that soon turns to flashing amber lights and does not charge - i can turn it on with the new battery but it only has 50% left. i have already resorted to a hard reset and this did not fix my problem.
i would be greatful for any help or comments on my problem as i think its rather unique due to the lack of info on it.
i have an O2 XDA Trion (tytn) and it is running WM6 which i flashed myself but it is the official opperator update.
personally i feel this is a hardware issue, if anyone knows where i can get it repaired then that would be a great help too, i may try to take it back to O2 but i dont think they will be interested as i hav had it for about a year and i am now on orange but using the tytn.
cant wait 2 hear from u, thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
Matt.
Some things to try:
http://michael-channon.spaces.live...._c=BlogPart&partqs=cat=Hermes+Charging+Issues
NB. The rocking the battery on and off the contacts mentioned in the above link, is more of a TyTn II trick but it may work with the Hermes.
Assuming one of the gold battery connector pins onthe Hermes is not disconnected then what you are trying to do with these tricks (to put it crudely) is to reset the charging circuit that seems to have a habit of getting "stuck". Incidentally this is a problem that seems to affect many phones by different manufacturers.

A perhaps first solution that has worked for me in the past. While it may seem elementary... perhaps the pins on your usb port are dirty. When I had my palm, I pretty much had to clean the bottom pins with a needle almost every time I wanted to sync, since they got a little grimey and didnt make a good connection. Try taking out the battery, and very lightly taking a needle and seeing if there is dirt or grime on the connections. Then blow on the port really hard (even better, use a can of compressed air) and see if that solves it.
Can't hurt to try

thanks for the suggestion. hav tried these several times and had no joy, my phone does register a battery because the red light goes away when i put the battery in but there is no amber charge light just an amber light that flashes every 2-3 secs. do you kno anything else i could try or do u kno somewhere that may be able 2 fix it if its a hardware issue? thanks. matt.
in reply to jotek
i will try this as i wont do any harm but i cant see it helping much as i am able to transfer files accross usb no problem so i dont think theres any problem with the connection. thanks for the suggestion though. wish i knew more about how the phone works lol.
all ok now
just to let people know, i wasn't able to find anyway of getting it to charge again so have taken it back to O2 and was supprised to find it was still under manufacturers warranty so thay have sent it off for repair free of charge can take up to 2 weeks they said - what's the bets that its longer than that
Thanks for the previous suggestions
You mean your PC can read your phone, but your phone's battery cannot be charged somehow. Even the power is left 50 percent, you still cannot start your phone? It is strange. Have you try use the charger connect to your phone? Maybe there is something wrong whit a component about the pover switch.
Hello, although I am aware that this question has been asked a lot of times, none of the threads seem to offer a solution for my problem.
I have a T-Mobile branded MDA Touch/HTC Touch which won't boot anymore.
Also, my battery won't charge anymore.
It gets to the T-Mobile Screen and just freezes, and sometimes it doesn't even start up.
I tried hardreset, and the screen became coloured a bit, but then it just got black and froze.
All I did in the last time was install Opera Mobile and delete an Opera Mini folder, nothing else!
I didn't change ROM nor change anything connected to the system, it just went like that when it froze and I took out the battery and wanted to reboot it.
Do you have any solution?
Also, it doesn't do anything as I write this, maybe the battery is empty and since I can't charge it, it won't do anything, no hardreset, no bootloader, nothing.
Is there a way to charge the battery for so short that I can simply try getting in the bootloader?
Please help me, I'm desperately trying since 3 days or so
Hi
If you have a battery problem there's no way to enter bootloader, either get a battery charger or someone with another device. Don't ever think of flashing (if this is why you want to enter bootloader) without a fully charged battery.
Good luck
Thanks for the reply, ordered a new battery yesterday, I hope that that solves the problem.
I hope too, but how will you charge the new battery if your device is not charging? That's why I suggested a battery charger to rule out a software problem by hard resetting or flashing a new rom.
Let's hope the old one was faulty and with the new battery the problem will resolve by itself
