Hi,
I am trying to sim-unlock a wallaby xda I. After successfully putting on xda-developer ROM on it via sd card, it came on but still asked for sim unlock code in phone mode.
This is T-mobile pw10b1. However, in device info, after the ROM upgrade it identified the device as pw10a1????
I was frustrated so I pushed the pin in small hole (battery disconnect) and now the device will not turn on at all.
any ideas folks?
thanks for your patience with my frustrated post.
try plugging in the charger, then turn it on!
should power up!

My device: XDA O2, with wallaby boot loader 5.17
Tried to flash RSUv1.15(GPRS_421_ENG_O2) into it. Update froze at either 48% or 53%. Tried it 10 times over, while waiting infinitely but the device just auto-booted itself after each froze. Deleted the autorun files from the startup director on the XDA. After which it did not try the update at bootup anymore. Instead the device is now dead :
On boot it just gives a white screen and everything fails / nothing can be done. The device cannot be connected through USB, and nothing on either SD card of MM card will install.
I tried to flash wallaby-patch-tool.nb2 to fix the key problem with 5.17 bootloader but as GSM fails at the bootloader: it just ignores the disk. I tried the patch tool on a SD card and on two other MM cards it does not work on any of them: as the damn bootloader checks GSM first (and gives GSM ERROR)
Also since the device is trashed it does not apper to load its battery, I assume it must be quite dead soon. (is there any way to load a battery on a software-trashed XDA O2??)
I have another fully working XDA O2 at my disposal. That machine is running older version of CE, GSM and 5.15 Bootloader. I tried flashing the OS from that device to the SD card, succeeded in getting it there - but the broken device will not flash itself from the SD card since it has "wrong key", and the patch tool fails to work because the GSM fails before it even checks any cards in 5.17..
The GSM cannot be copied to the SD card from the working device, because copying the GSM requires connecting something called RS232 and running some program nobody has heard of..
Is there anything I can do? I even tried copying the 5.15 bootloader from the working device to SD, and flashing that to the 5.17 broken device: no success, since it fails the GSM at bootloader startup, and the card has "wrong key" anyways.
How can I recover from this?
When you do reply, please reply in full generously abundant and exquisite detail. I am unable to follow instructions such as "just do this and that" if you do give instructions please be very detailed: tell me where to load the files (paste the links) and preferably go step by step through the process.
I have noticed that some other people have this exact same problem. If you give good enough guidance maybe we can create a help file to address this same problem in the future as well.
Thank you in advance!
A further problem with the other XDA
A further problem emerged with the other XDA:
- now it only boots to bootloader, and refuses to power up properly
pressing the power button does nothing. Soft reseting does nothing. Hard reseting does nothing. The only thing that seems to work is pressing the powerbutton+softreseting at the same time == entering the bootloader mode. There the machine passes all tests and seems to be fully functional. however refuses to power up.
I tought maybe the SIM slot is improperly closed, tried closing it better, and manually pressing the switch inside - doesn't work either.
Also tired inserting, taking out, and reinserting the XDA to the cradle, with either the power button pressed at the same time or not (this seems to work sometimes when the XDA O2 in unresponsive) but that doesn't work either.
What to do? how can the device be powered up?
Still stuck with this same situation
Hi all,
I'm still stuck with this same situation. So far nobody has even tried offering any help to me. What can I do? Do you think I should just give up and toss the damn device to the nearest body of water I can see, or what?
look for "repair.zip" in the forum, for some people this helped.

Tried that. That doesn't work since that repair requires that the device works as far as the today screen - my device dies out well before that. As described above it dies right in the start: just frozes up and displays a white screen with a blue bar in top, and after that does nothing, runs nothing, reacts to nothing, etc..
Any other ideas?
I was updating the ROM on the sx56 and it just stop. Now it is stuck with in a white screen mode and activesync won't recognize it. What can do before this goes into the fire place?
Please Help me....

Stefan
Thank you for that suggestion but ActiveSync cannot recognize my SX56. I have tried several ways to over come this as suggested on this site. I find myself in deep water.
But there is no active sync required for sd-card flashing !?!?
Stefan
Now I am getting it, I must have a SD Card reader to carry this out. Then place it in my SX56. Thanks
Thanks "LumpiStefan:"
It work and my SX56 is working great, thanks again.
i was installing new rom on my device.when it was 12%, the computer got locked and i had to reset. Now,my baby did not reflash again.i tried again but himaupragadeutility gave : communication problem. what can i do now? can anyone help me? so a few people know this device, the others even do not know what pda is. what i can do?????????????????????????????
Try putting your device into bootloader mode and making sure your XDA is plugged into the mains as well. There's also an upgrade program which bypasses country id checks.
Good luck.
I got the same problem with my Qtek 2020i today!!!!!
The device is dead and i can't put it into bootloader mode!
I need your help please
Try taking the battery out for about 1 hour. This will run the backup battery down therefore wiping the ram. Put the battery back in, connect it to the mains and put it into bootloader by pressing power, action and reset for about 3-5 seconds until serial appears on screen. No backlight so look carefully.
I tried to remove the battrey for 1 hour but it's still the same!
any way thanks for trying to help pug.
I have searched a great deal, but I cant find the answer so I will ask. I have been having troubles with my wallaby, its from tmobile usa, and at first the battery wouldnt hold a charge, so i bought a new battery, but it still dies within 30 seconds of being off the cradle, no matter how long it has been there. I thought maybe it was the software on it so i have been trying to flash it to tmobile usa 4.01.16 via sd card, but i use xdatools, wrote the rom to the sd card, and I soft reset but it just dies, so i have to put it on the cradle for it to start up again, and it show the screen to start the flashing process, any ideas or suggestions to help fix it?

Hi...
I was trying to Upgrade my O2 XDA Exec Rom with Windows Mobile 6.5 by explode. The process went successfully till 99% and after that it ended up with Error. Then I unplugged my pda from the pc and tried to restart the device. I was surprised that the device did not respond to any of the following
Soft Reset
Hard Rest
Boot Loader mode Start (Bulb + Power + Reset)
It is totally blank screen whatever you do.
When I connected the device to the pc with usb cable, a Red Light is shown for 2 seconds and then goes off and a message comes up on the pc that "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED".
Then I tried to Remove battery from the device for a whole night and the next day morning i did all the above procedures again to get no results.
Kindly Help me out
Thanks

Im new to this forum and spending a few weeks doing searches I have found a new world of things I can do with my M5000! Only problem is I have the same problem as this guy. The problem started with no GSM, No Protocol version and no IMEI number, After countless rom installs and failed all I thought I left the sim in? Took batt out, No sim, Put the batt back in and now it wont turn on or do anything.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem or its it an expensive paper weight?? Im lost without it!
