Hi All,
i am trying to create an application and in that i want to trap the power button action. What i mean is if the user tries to go to Sleep Mode or Powers Down the Device i want shutdown gracefully and indicate to the server. How can i handle this? Any help is appreciated

Within my code I am using the SetWindowsHookEx function with WH_KEYBOARD_LL to catch low level keyboard events. This should alert me to the user pressing the power button.
However it is not always catching the button press. Whats more is that I dont think the unit is powering down at all because the unit stays active synced.
Has anyone seen this problem, or know what could cause this.

Install Mortscript then use this script. I use it on my Touch. I hate the power buttons on these phones. Except for the Wizard. That was a nicely placed/tactile power button.
Thanks for the responses guys, Can I clarify that I need to power off the unit NOT put it to sleep (hibernate), ie I want to replicate what happens when you press the power button for 4-5 seconds completely power down the unit

As the title explains itself, my powerkey is sort of broken. It randomly "long presses", this means that I randomly get the phone options menu (Android). This is pretty annoying as the phone wakes up.
I managed to get the 'long home press function' acting as the sleep / screenlock command.
I have no warranty and 100% sure it's a hardware problem.
I tried buttonremapper to disable the power button, but did not succeed.
Can anyone help to permanently disable this button, or did someone else was able to fix this button?

hi I m a new S4 user and I encounter a problem.my screen timeout and my touch key light never go off base on the setting I made. This problem will only happen when I power up the phone follow by keying the code to turn off the Wi-Fi power save mode. I check on all my screen timeout and touch key light setting all is unchanged but this setting just don't take place,I need to press the "power" button to off the screen and touch key light.is there any hidden features that can solve this problem? Another question is can the Wi-Fi power save mode able to off permanently and no need to always go in to disable it everytime the phone is power up? Thanks hope you people can help me out.

Anyone has an idea how to disable the power button for waking up the phone? Fingerprint works fine, there is no reason for me to use the power button to wake up the screen. It's more a problem, because i press the power button very often, but i don't want to. Sometimes the phone wakes up in my bags so i just want to disable this. Is there any chance to do this? I would root my phone for this, no problem.

Nobody can help here? I'm sure it would be possible, I already used this on my HTC phone. Please let me know if someone knows how to disable the button. I think there must be some changes in the keylayout file, but no idea how to get this working.
