Hi there!
Anyone has an idea how to disable the power button for waking up the phone? Fingerprint works fine, there is no reason for me to use the power button to wake up the screen. It's more a problem, because i press the power button very often, but i don't want to. Sometimes the phone wakes up in my bags so i just want to disable this. Is there any chance to do this? I would root my phone for this, no problem.

Nobody can help here? I'm sure it would be possible, I already used this on my HTC phone. Please let me know if someone knows how to disable the button. I think there must be some changes in the keylayout file, but no idea how to get this working.

Hey,
On my JAMin I have the option in settings to stop any button from bringing it back when I've turned the screen off by tapping the power button (or whatever actually happens when you do that). Among the many things that annoy me about the HP firmware, I've found that the RW6828s also don't have this option in settings. Is there anything I can do?

Install Mortscript then use this script. I use it on my Touch. I hate the power buttons on these phones. Except for the Wizard. That was a nicely placed/tactile power button.
Thanks for the responses guys, Can I clarify that I need to power off the unit NOT put it to sleep (hibernate), ie I want to replicate what happens when you press the power button for 4-5 seconds completely power down the unit
Hi, hello and first of all I apologize if question will look silly or there is already answer which I couldn't find. My question is if there is some tweak or possibility to change button to wake my HD from sleep mode. In default you need to press on/off button to wake HD and get your screen light but the on/off button isn't quite comfortable. Maybe longer press of home button will be better? PLS let me know if there is a solution.
Pull the stylus out, wakes it up too.
yes that's true. Thanx. I didn't notice that beacouse I rather don't use stylus. Any other options?

You can download an alternative lock program, like LockBot, LockGo, or Lock 2.0. So you can wake up your phone with the trackball, or with the touch sensitive buttons..

As the title explains itself, my powerkey is sort of broken. It randomly "long presses", this means that I randomly get the phone options menu (Android). This is pretty annoying as the phone wakes up.
I managed to get the 'long home press function' acting as the sleep / screenlock command.
I have no warranty and 100% sure it's a hardware problem.
I tried buttonremapper to disable the power button, but did not succeed.
Can anyone help to permanently disable this button, or did someone else was able to fix this button?
