ROM 4.00.01 and DualBandGSM ?

I have just ugraded my Qtek ROM to vers. 4.00.01 (pocketPC2003) and the RSU4.21.
BUT since then I cannot see my mobile carrier anymore Orange CH (switzerland), but all the others...
Could that come from the new soft not supporting dualbandGSM 1800 ?? or naything else.

PS CAN I DOWNGRADE MY ROM TO 3.17 FROM THE O2 web site??

i believe that the current 4.00.01 is with the US radiostack
leaving your phone at 900/1900 and not 900/1800 which is the EU std

European XDA/MDA with Radio Update
Same here in Germany. First I upgraded my TMO (Germany) MDA to ROM 4.00.10 without the radio upgrade. It worked (and still works ) very well with the old (by only supported :? ) radio V3.23.00 protocol 32S54. The only thing I noticed is: the carrier (T-Mobile Germany) is not displayed (in the Today screen) and the connection bar graph is changing very often from "good" to "worse". :shock:
After this success I upgraded also the radio unit, but I better have not done that! No (neither 900 or 1800) carrier is detected by the phone anymore I tried a lot in the bootloader but nothing helped me
So I downgraded the radio to 3.23.00 with the RSU utility which is downloadable from TMO Germany. And everything is okay again

Seems the same problem... but luky you are, as I don't have the older RSU available...
Does anybody know where I could find the RSU 3.16 or 3.17 FR ??

I don't know if it works but why aren't you flashing the RSU with the one from the english o2.co.uk site ore the german one? Isn't there a support page for your french xda? (From witch provider was the xda sold? AFAIK orange has its own new SPV)
The English rsu seems to be ver 4.21 and is located here http://www.o2.co.uk/personal/xda/docs/Radio_Stack_Upgrade_v421.zip
The German RSU is also V4.21 but I don't have a direct link. Just click http://www.o2online.de/o2/business/datenloesungen/xda/downloads/index.html and go ahead.
The RUU seems to have the version 3.17 (UK) or 3.19 (Germany)
Look here http://xda-developers.com/rom/ RSU-> the "Phone BIOS" and RUU->"The PDA sw" So I think the RSU is not written in a specific language but only for a special region (US and Europe). But the RUU is.

problem solved
I actually could solve the problem by going in the bootloader and switch to DualBand GSM 900/1800. BUT then you CANNOT go in the BAND menu or it automatically switch you back into 900 ...

vpa 4 (qtek9000) roms

hy, i have an vpa 4 (vodafone germany)
rom 1.20 (tmobile germany)
radio 1.11 (i have found it anywhere)
extrom 1.30 wwe (from xda-ftp)
i want to update to 1.20, but not this from tmobile. i have tried rom-version 1.30 from qtek, but there i cant make any changes in the registry without having trouble after that (the same changes like under 1.13), i cant save anything in the extended rom, the datas will be destroyed (dont understand it). under 1.13 i have used my ext_rom for own datas and progs.
my question: is tmobile the only one with an 1.20 rom? i dont like the tmobile splashscreen (i have an universal from vodafone). on the phonepad also is the tmobile-logo
my english is not so good, hope anyone understand that what ive wrote.

Xda Exec (HTC Universal) shows NO GSM when booting (error Radio Stack)

Hi everybody,
my Xda exec have a problem on radio stack .... don't get any GSM signal ... when booting show "No GSM" and Device Information don't shows Radio information or EMEI anymore!
Looking the xda-dev foruns I founded "Problem 5: Device shows NO GSM when booting" in http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems, but the instructions are to HTC Hermes ... Then I asking .... -"it's the same solution to HTC Universal?"
Anyone?

i have the same problem with my 02 xda exec (htc universal) tryed flashing the rom comes up with error 114 every time no matter what i try to re flash the radio stack it still dont want to no

I would think to reflash the complete ROM with another radio version, also MTTY tool

1. flash your universal to original ROM
2. use HTC Universal Super CID Unlock from buzzdev (thanks buzz)
3. if you want to upgrade to WM6 just make sure that you not upgrade radio too
i still have a question for this case but my Uni got GSM again

QTEK 9100 dead in Three colors screen

Hi Masters, My Qtek 9100 after appliying WM6.Crossbow.WWE.HTC.Wizard.v5.2.660-sck update ROM procedure, the device remains in the Three color screen with the codes:
IPL 2.26.0001
SPL 2.26.0001
GSM (not appear).

Have some of you the original ROM for Qtek 9100, or where I can find a fix?

Well, your WIZARD is not DEAD - just starting in BOOTLOADER mode. Looks like you did not flash it right! SOLUTION: Flash it again - in case the WM6 won't flash try another ROM (best thing: your shipped one!).
Since you'e a QTEK owner you can register at the QTEKs homepage with its IMEI number (you can find it under the battery on the label) and download the latest ROMs ...

Still remains in Bootloader Mode
Hi June2003, I try to reflash the phone many times, but the status is the same, one of the thinks that I concern is that the Rom Update Utility ver 2.5.2 not show me the current version of my Qtek (the version the lastest ROM in Qtek site doesnt work) and the upgrade version.
Before the execute the process, I read some posts into this forum that Qtek 9100 aka Wizard could be upgrading from WM5 to WM6, and this is the reason about my phone is freeze.
Any advice......

Upgrade problem
I was downloaded firmware from UK site, but still have the same problem. Instalation of new firmware starts well, and read my version from htc and when i clic next on next step, my htc goes in bootup mode, conection between pc and htc was broke, and on my phone only i can see herm200 IPL-1.00, next row herm200 SPL-1.04 and botom of the screen USB.... nothing happening...
Any one can help me?
