Touchscreen problem

Have a "small" problem with my touchscreen, it requires to be aligned every day,and by that i mean that the alignment doesn't hold much long...that means sms typing is extremely hard when you push one letter he shows you another that lays next to it .Is it due to the touchscreen or the system....i didn't do any ROM update i still have the original software on him:
ROM Ver.: 1.12.01 GER
Radio Ver. : 1.12.00
ExtRom ver. : 1.12.151 GER

i think it it the problem of touch screen.after extrem use of touch screen its loes the alinement for this you replace the touch screen from your hardware guy.

Hi i fixed the problem with a ROM update and i didn't install extra programs that i had before like ( Pocket plus or Calendar ++...... ), anyway now i don't have to align the screen. I don't know is it the ROM update or the additional software but the touchscreen is now working perfectly.
So if someone else have a similar problem don't replace the screen right away.

Maybe with you it was, my MDA is now working perfectly and i don't need to align my screen every day as i did before.That doesn't mean that all have such a problem,i am only telling you my experience with it.

Hello, in my magician is not everyday, hapens all the time that i turn on it.
I had replace it 3 times, but i can find a good dealer of touchs. You knows one that seel a good touch?

I've had that problem for a LONG time and today i finally got tired and decided to fixed it...here's how i've done it: You just need to lift a little bit up, a few small metal pins which are all around the touchscreen (see the picture in attachment). This will force the touchscreen to remain in place and will end all your problems related to touchscreen alignments.

(* the pins have nothing to do with the touchscreen, they are what holds aluminum shell on the plastic chasis)

i had an o2 mini with 1.11 rom and its touch screen was not quite sensitive.. had to tap or drag stylus very hard..
but after upgrading to 2.03TX.. to my surprise.. my PDA now has very good touch screen response!

i also got a unit mini xda from a friend, he said it is dropped and can't tap screen. i hold and press the screen, then slide up and down, side by side, and now its ok.

Probably it's problem with flat wire that connects screen with mainboard.
You need to open yours xda, find that wire, unplug it from mainboard, clean its pins with alcohol and plug into again.
From this time mine xda doesn't decalibrating anymore

I was just thinking to upgrade my mini since it response too slow when i tap the screen
but now it works just as it is new.

My cell also had the same problem. There is a bunch of wires coming from the back of touch screen, these wires fix inside a socket. There is a black color cover that fix the wires inside that socket. During mishandling that cover got loose, that's why your cell loose the screen setting. I fixed that cover and now my Jam works perfectly. (Do it if you have the courage to open your cell)

Hello, I just bought a used O2 mini and had this same problems. I finally found a quick way to restore the calibration that goes out every restarts.
Using resco registry editor, I found the data stored here->
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/CalibrationData
So I make 1 clean alignment and quickly went and export the Touch key into my Storage. Now every time the alignment goes haywire, I just import the data back. Hope it helps.

Align Screen

Hy everybody.. today i've bought a qtek 9100/spv m3000 from a guy...but when i've opened the phone.. he says to "aling scree" and in the center of the screen is a target...when i tap in the middle of the target..nothing happends.. just when i tap in a corner.. and after that if i tap.. the middle of the target.. it moves.. but it does nothing.. when i tap it in the center of the screen ( why.. does somebody knows.. why ? or how to bypass the screen align ? please.. help..

You have to align the screen in both directions (horizontal and vertical). After that it should work...

got a similar problem. You probably have a dead spot in the middle of the screen, like me. You gotta try and get as close as possible, but then on every other marker you gotta hit it in the same spot.
If it won't go to another marker do a hard reset or try a different rom.

U don't understand.. almost 1cm and 1.5cm from the middle of the screen doesn't work .. im sure that the digitizer of the lcd display is broken ..

uninstal FTouchFlo and softreset. work 100%

I have had this issue also on an O2 Mini S, luckily it happened 1 month before the warrantee ran out.
I noticed the screen was getting a little unresponsive in the center of the screen and then I hard reset the device before it was sent back to O2, after this I couldn't even calibrate the screen.
It was replaced in the end.

Touch screen problem ?

Hello, I bought a second hand prophet. But I have a problem with the screen : the screen does not respond exactly where I put the pen. For exemple, on the keyboard, if I put the pen on the "E" key, it is the "D" wich is pressed ...
This only happen in the middle of the screen. No problems on the top or the bottom of it.
Of course I tried to re-calibrate the screen many times but it does not solve the problem.
Does anyone know where does this problem come from ?

Like I said, I already did the re-alignement. But it didn't solve my problem.

Well it is very likely that your touchscreen is damaged but not your LCD. There is actually 2 portions to the screen which most ppl assume there was only one(well I did initially until finding out later when my screen broke and got it replaced). Anyway, if you've tried re-calibrating it and doesn't work..maybe your screen protector (if you do use one) maybe be at fault? Other than that, worse case scenario, it is your touchscreen that is physically damaged. FYI it is not really expensive to replace compared to the LCD part.
Speak to njbridges if you need to get it replaced.

I had the same problem. Unfortunately it was a problem with the touch screen which was fixed under warranty.

Hello.
I tried to do that, because I had problems to align screen.
I changed the touchscreen with another from a broken LCD. But now all I can get is a white screen, then a sound (like the starting sound when you make a hard reset or remove batery) and after black screen again.
What can I do to bring it back.
I've noticed that the touchscreen had some white glue where is the connection with the LCD. Do I need to replace that glue, maybe is a special glue with small voltage conductibility ? Or ? Help!
Anyone changed the touchscreen ?
PS: I think I will start a new post, maybe I will get some answers!

When you buy a new touch screen you buy with some conectors or only the plastic rectangle ?

well... i have to cut with a scissors the conecters to conect right on lcd screen... and it worked

When you say cut it means that a part of the conectors still remain on the touchscreen (under the touchscreen). Or no conectors at all on the touchscreen and that means you removed the connectors (pulled out).
Do you know if I have any chance to take another touchscreen from a defect device and work ?

i have a Swisscom XPA v1605 (htc tytn), and i had wm6. On wm6 I have problem with touchscreen on start button, a I hardreset the phone. After that my touchscreen does't work, and I can't calibrate screen and continue with starting up guide....What sould I do??? Someone answer PLEASE....

check that the front bezel is not dented and suppressing the touch panel around the sides, if not,,, you will need to replace the entire lcd...
also check if there are any objects( sand, pocket lint) stuck between the touoch panel and bezel.

I think, is there any posibility that the rom is false, becouse that phone should have wm5. Lcd is workin fine , but I can click on calibration. was I mentoned that the phone was wokin fine before that happen.(HARDRESET)

Try reflashing the ROM, I had a similar issue where it just stopped working and re flashing was the only cure.

Did the device come from Swisscom with WM6? If so your probably best contacting there support about it, they may be able to give you the download location of the rom. Advanced screen protector !!!

, but unfortunately after I applied to the screen , I couldn't tap on it ?
Did u use it before ?!! and what do u think the problem ?!
I tried to calibrate the screen again , but It didn't work !

check if you can use the touch screen on WM6 /Snap view , if you can then good news , all you need is to restart your vista or fall back to last restore point.
If you cannot use the touch screen on Vista and WM6 side , remove the screen protect and try ... if it works ...you are safe...atleast your shift is working fine.
if it doesnt work after removing screen protect , contact HTC service.
