various 8125 problems - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

hello everyone, I have a stock g4 cingular 2.25.11 phone and I have a few questions.
1) How can I make the orange notification light turn off when Ive read the notification such as a missed call or text message?
2)How can I get my Samsung Bluetooth headset to properly work with VC 1.6? Ive tried this program that says enable, and Ive used it but whenever I push the button on my headset it brings up the dialpad and I can hear all sounds through the headset (audio is completely redirected to the headset)
Thank you everyone!

BT headset query

Sorry if this is a question that has popped up before but I have searched the previous queries in BT headsets and found quite a few different problems but I don’t seem to have found anything directly relating to this so here goes
I recently purchased the Bluetake bt400 GII headset, and it works fine, it bonds ok and the reception is perfect
My only problem is that I can’t seem to get the headset to ring when a call comes through to my XDA II!
I has only done it twice and that was completely spontaneous, I have since tried many test call and the headset will not ring, however after the ringing has stopped and I get the missed call icon, if I press the Power/Talk/pairing button the headset rings once!
I have looked in the user manual and on the website itself but all I seem to get is either "the device and headset will ring simultaneously" or "sorry this device may not be supported"
Arg :!:
Any suggestions :?:
Thanks

Bluetooth Tools & Nokia Handsfree Advice?

I'm aware of the various BT issues with the XDA II, and therefore installed BT Tools thinking it may allow me to use my handfree kit. Unfortunately I'm experiencing problems and not sure if this is me doing something wrong or there is a problem with the software. Basically the XDA II does not route either incoming or outgoing calls via the handfrees unit. I have do the following:-
1. Installed the latest BT Tools.
2. Created a bond with the Nokia Handfree kit, when prompted for the BT profile (the BT Tools icon screen) I select headset only.
3. Enable BT on the XDA II
When I make or receive a call is there any button or menu I should be selecting to enable the handsfree unit?
From the Today screen, make sure bluetooth headset mode is enabled.
And if Bluetooth Headset Mode does not appear on the today screen:
Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items and make sure Profile is checked. That will put the headset mode switch on the Today screen.
Thanks for the suggestions, I must admit I had missed the headset profile on the Today screen.
Even with the device paired, BT enabled & the Headset enable neither incoming or outgoing calls are routed through the handsfree unit.
Any other suugestions welcomed...
With the new bluetooth tools you need to transfer the call to the headset...
I find the best way when dialing is to have the phone ready to dial, then i hit the answer button on the headset causing the phone to dial & transfer sound to the headset @ the same time.
When answering the call the headset should ring and you press the answer button on the headset to recieve the call.

When you say press the headset button are you referring to the headset icon on the XDA or the Nokia handsfree button?
If its the Nokia button , I'll try this tomorrow, if not, then the icon does not ring and when receiving a call it is covered by the incoming call window.
Many thanks...
the nokia headset button

Yep thats what I thought, I think I can confidently say there is a compatability issue with using the current version of BT Tools with the new Nokia CK-7W handsfree kit.
I've read the user manual for the handfree kit and that refers to switching/transferring the call between the BT devices using the button. The unit clicks as if there's something happening, but no call is heard, the unit works perfectly with a BT phone connected both Nokia & Motorola.
I would try uninstalling pocket BT tools - for using a headset it is of no additional value anyway. I do not have it installed and have never had any problems making or receiving calls with my SE HBH-30 headset.
Try using the earlier version of bluetooth tools, make sure you uninstall the version you have and also unbond/remove bluetooth pairings, rebond after successful install.
Pocket Bluetooth Tools is perfect! This is what I'm looking for, except I can't figure out how to listen to music thru my bluetooth headset.
Thanks for the great tool though, now I can make calls with my headset.

The BIG advantage is battery life and not having to re-enable the headset profile each time you switch on the phone! With both PBT and/or Profile not displayed, I also get more Today real estate to play with.
With BT on all the time, I'm lucky to get four hours usage out of my Xda II, with PBT turning it off after five minutes the time can go up to almost seven. Sure, there is a short lag between call coming in and the headset (HBH-65) ringing but I can live with that and it even works well with Pocket Zen Phone. I also like the last number redial facility it adds to my headset. PBT rocks!
I found one problem with this program. My device won't automatically turn off after installing this tool. The backlight turns off, but not the device after certain minutes set. Who do I report the problem too.

Hi everyone,
well, I got the same problem :x with my XDA2, also called Qtek 2020, and Nokia carkit 112. It just does'nt work, even with BT tools. But I wonder how you get the icon screen while connecting to your Nokia carkit...cause mine is going straight back to the "Bluetooth connected devices" screen. I only got the icon screen, enabling the profile selection, while connecting to my Nokia 6310i phone.
Let's hope that HTC is gonna come up with Handsfree profile soon...
Regards to all, special ones to our OZ friends!! Mates, I really enjoyed living in Sydney, even if Italy is quite convenient as well.

Headset talk button

I can use the talk button to answer incoming calls on headset. Anybody knows a way to use that button for voice calling etc?
Hello
Just been browsing and I notice you have asked the same question as me, I did not notice it before as I searched for handsfree.
Anyway, what model do you have? I am SPV M600, I only noticed this problem today as I have just installed MP3's onto my SD card. While I had the headphones on I tried handsfree and noticed I could not activate voice dial with the button although I could answer and close calls.
On all of my old phones, I just pressed the button, it activated voice dial and I called the number, but not this phone.
I have set up voice dial on the phone, voice tagged contacts, and it is working great, none are failing to be recognised.
Have you managed to sort out the problem yet?
I called my phone supplier they could not help as they do not have a technical dept, and Orange just wont answer the phone, customer service is dreadful lately.
Dodgy headset ??
I got my SPV M600 today and headset works fine, and the use headset selection under phone settings is greyed out as well
Sorry I replied to the wrong thread. I dont know how to get the voice dial on the headset.

Hi Spenner.
When you say your headset works, does it activate the voice dial software when the silver button is pressed or does it just answer and close calls?
Voice Dial
I think it can be solved with a registry modification. Unfortunately I cannot solve the problem myself. I tried all the properities bu I couldnt find any related one.
My phone is O2 XDA and just like you I only can answer and hang up calls by headset button.
i was asking about how to change behaviour of this button, hovewer nobydy knows
I would like to push it 1,2,3 times or push & hold and assign different actions for different pushes
it all used to work beautifully on my Orange M600. Then I upgraded to the Dopod ROm and the voice speed dialler i gone.
Bloody annoying! Can't work out how to get it back...

Microphone mute on carkit

Hi there,
I have not read the complete forum so I don't know if this has been discussed already, but I am stuck with this wierd problem.
I used to run 2.0.64.wwe on my T-Mobile MDA and this worked fine in combination with my carkit.
Because of some GPS bluetooth problems I upgraded to 2.01a.64.wwe.
When the phone is in the carkit, I can hear incoming sounds, I can recorde voicenotes (so the mic connection works), but when answering a phone call, the mic is muted.
I have tried with Mic ACG on and off, but there is no noticable difference in these situations.
Anyone got a clue?
Thanx,
Patrick.

BT Headset - Verification of connection Beep & or Visual?

ATT 8525, Stock ROM atm, had it for less then a week so far. Been playing with Ipaq's before for the last 6 years, it's nice to combine the usefulness and customization abilties of a WM PDA with a Phone.
My prev phone was a simple Moto V551 that I used for 3yrs. Last X-Mas, Wife got me a BT Headset (Plantronis BT320) that except for it's size I love it. With the Moto, when I connected them every day, I got a little "Beep-Boop-Beep" sound upon succesful connection of the headset with the Phone, and a visual one too. ("Plantronics XXXX has Successfully Connected!")
With my Hermes, it is dead silent. I mapped (with some great tweaks in here!) the PTT to start up the BT. I start it up, then startup the Headset. I never get any comfirmation, and unlike the Moto - if do things like dial a number, the sounds all come through the speaker and not the headset, and there is no visual comfimation of connection either. In the few calls I've received while driving since I got the Hermes, I do get them through the Headset, but I would sure like a comfirmation of the connection - audible/visual/both or either!!!
Does anyone know of a way (either a patch/cab or reg tweak) to get connection comfirmation / status?
I have looked / search pages and pages of posts - not found what I'm looking for, yet....Though I have seen a Cab that enable all sounds through the headset (and lose voice dialing - want voice soon!) but I don't think it does what I'm looking for anyway.
Thanks!
Id like to know as well
On the Phone Dialer screen, there is a little picture of a headset in the top right corner when the Bluetooth has a connection to a headset.
