I don't know if someone has pointed this out somewhere before, but for those of you with T-Mobile USA that need the network settings for your phones T-Mo has this configuration page
http://tmobileus.wdsglobal.com/phon...Number=&captchaEnabled=true&manufacturerId=41
it has MMS settings, GPRS settings, and PPC as a modem settings.
*EDIT* Ive notice that when I use 216.155.165.050 in my settings for any connection it doesn't work, if the same thing happens to any of you try 216.155.165.50 since for some reason that will always work for me.
TMO MMS WAP Settings
Could we post this info on the wiki or make it a sticky? I get asked about this regularly from newbies who can't figure out the HORRIBLE search feature on this site.

Can someone point me in the right direction I've doen numerous searchs and talked to tech support (useless) . I have a 8125 that I picked up, although I am a AT&T sim card user (our company hasn't upgraded yet) so I unlocked the phone and it works great. although I can not access mmode or anything email or Internet related unless using wifi.
Can someone point me in the right direction for some instructions on how to get this thing set up to work with the legacy AT&T wireless system?
You need to manually enter the AT&T GPRS and MMS settings.
Call up AT&T and ask for the necessary information. They'll give it to you.
PM me you're email address I have the cab file that I can send to you.

Well they don't exist anymore and the guys at Cingular could only get me so far. that's why I'm looking around for it.
Mark, you have a PM, thanks in advance
Cab file didnt work Mark. Only change it made was resetting my today backround to the default. all the settings are still the same.
is there a list of settings or a walk through for setting it up manually somewhere?
It should have worked.
Here is what I have:

This network uses a proxy server
WAP 10.250.250.250 9201

Hope this makes sense.
Another option is to go to the Cingular web page and choose Support, Phone/Device Support.
Select the following:
Network: former AT&T Wireless"
Manufacturer: Siemens
Model: SX66
Use the information in Device Setup to configure the browser/internet and MMS settings. It won't match exactly because the SX66 is a 2003 device, but you should be able to figure it out.
I have a At&T 8525 that I have unlocked to use with Suncom service in USA but I am unable to access the web and I am looking for the correct settings to do this. SUncom will not give the settings to me, also if possible the directions to install if settings are available-thanks

Give this a try. It doesn't have the 8525 listed (of course). But I'm sure you can choose one of the other devices and the info should be somewhat standard.
gprs settings for suncom
I am using an HTC TyTn, it is very similar.
the settings that i haqve gotten to work after much trial and error are as follows.
make a new connection called "internet"
Cellular line GPRS
access point name: mobileinternet
user name, password, and domain are blank
and thats it.
MMS settings are:
create a server i called it suncom mms
gateway: 66.150.33.115
port:9201
server address: http://mms.suncom.net:8088/mms
connect via: i set to my isp (im not sure if this matters but it is working)
wap version: WAP 1.2
The wap version and port number are fixed on my phone. I have found that the port number is more inportant than the wap version.
I hope this helps.
thanks for the settings but I am still unable to send MMS --I set the WAP as the gateway #is that the correct place to enter it
Hi I have a Tytn II with Dutty's WM6.1 Official UC 5.2.19199 RTM
and I want to use these settings for the MMS but I don't know how to create the server.
I've looked through the phone but can't find it.
Can anyone help me out?
1 thing he messed up on..on the connect via dont put " my isp" put the internet
I just got off the phone with my contact at AT&T, GPRS Data settings have changed. You no longer need to provide a username and password, the other settings are all the same. I'm not sure if this is old news or not I figure I'm just going to get it out there. The isp.cingular APN still works, but its being depreciated apparently, so to review:
APN: wap.cingular
use header Compression.
Everything else blank. (Proxy optional)
These are the new settings which should already be on new devices that ship, so everybody go fiddle with your GPRS settings.
I'm using it and I noticed lower ping latencies.

Settings?
I too am looking for the settings, specially for MMS. Internet and SMS seem to work fine but MMS is a 'no-go.' Oh, I too am on WM6.5... and does anyone know what happened to T-Mo's configuration pages? Now it's a pay service?!?!
yea i need these settings too can someone post them on this page??
these settings are readily available on the internet.
If anyone gets charged any fees for using this dont complain to me. this is not exactly the best setup but it does work. all it is is the tzones proxy work around with a step or 2 added nothing that hasnt been posted before. but still its not my info i'm just passing it along.
In Settings/Connections/GPRS/T-Mobile Data:
Tmobile Data Connects to: WAPNetwork
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com
Add a 2nd GPRS option:
T-Mobile Data 2
Connects to: Work
Access Point: wap.voicestream.com
T-mobile internet
connects to : internet
access point: wap.voicestream.com
T-Mobile MMS
connects to : T-Mobile MMS
access point: wap.voicestream.com
Then create TWO Proxies:
Settings/Connections/Proxy
First Proxy:
Name:Tzones Proxy
Connects from: WAP Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
Second Proxy:
Name Tzones Proxy 2 Connects from: Work
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
after all of these settings have been completed install this cab http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...8&d=1253220068 and reboot your device

Internet:
Settings/Connections/GPRS/T-Mobile Data and T-Mobile Internet

I have used internet2.voicestream.com for access point as well, but do not notice any difference anymore.
I recently acquired an HD2 that is locked to T-Mobile. I am using a "Rebel Sim" to allow me to use an O2 sim card, however, I am unable to connect to the internet without Wi-Fi.
I have looked around the next, and even email O2 direct, and nothing they say is helping. I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to fix this problem.
Sorry if this post has already been asked, I searched the first 40 pages in the General Forum, and found similar aspects, nothing that answers correctly.
Thanks for your help
Callum

Ok, so i tried the link, and it now works, yay, however i can only update the whether?
I assume that the mobile internet must be working cos it has a counter as well, logging how much time i spend on there, any further ideas?
sorry to be a pain.
What's not working for you then Callum ?
Basically, I have set up the internet, so I am now able to update the whether without Wi-FI, however, I am still not able to use the web-browser without Wi-FI.
go to settings menu all settings connections connections advanced select networks. In there it lets you set the default connection for different types of apps. try the different connections, see what works. You may find it is trying to default to an old connection from when the phone was locked, who knows.
weather - rain, sun, clouds
whether - a choice or doubt between two or more alternatives
