Voicemail notification work-around - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Dear All,
As many other users of this forum I have been looking for a way to know I have new voicemails. Since the text messages do not come through on many networks (Vodafone NL in my case) I needed a fix for this.
I have found this Today plugin in a German VF ROM and it seems to do the trick. No sounds of alerts but at least I can see that I have voicemails... Let me know if this works for you!
Bye to you all.

SMS issue with Swiss provider

Hello,
I've issue with the "voice mail" notification on my Orange Hermes
My provider say it's an error of the GSM implementation from HTC
I've try to upgrade the Radio part without success ...
an Other idea ?
Same problem on Vodafone Germany. There's no solution for this I fear, so
we're stuck with the stupid voicemail icon on today screen.
Problem lies within handling of the special UDH Voicebox SMS Vodafone sends,
Hermes does not put them into inbox. Might be solved if someone is able to
patch this handler (might be deeply hidden inside WM5) or write some MAPI
interceptor.
BTW, VF UK users can configure some different voicebox that delivers plain SMS
the the phone, but that's obviously not available for us.

MMS - Picture Arrives, 2 days later TXT arrives...?

Hi,
I'm using a Sim Free Touch Diamond 2 on T-Mobile UK. Got a strange problem going on at the moment.
When someone sends me an SMS (From any network T-Mobile, Orange, O2 etc). I usually get the MMS with the picture downloaded within a couple of minutes. I can view this on the phone as you would expect. BUT, two days later I will then receive a TXT from T-Mobile saying that someone has send me a MMS, please go to http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/pmcollect - When I go and login the same picture message is waiting for me...?
Anyone else had this problem? Strange thing is that this only appears to have started happening since I returned from a trip to europe.
I've tried T-Mobile customer service - all they can suggest is that this is probably a setting on the handset....
Can anyone help or throw any light on this?
Cheers,
A.
Hi
I am having the same problem.and also experiancing sms coming through late or not at all. however i actualy work for T-Mobile.. and know its not a problem with the D2..it is more likely network issues. but am not aware of any issues..i will speak to technical next time i can and will let you know what they say..i is starting to bug me as well but it is some thing that started for me back in June and i was using my D1 at the time..
Hi there,
I have a similar problem.
When I receive a MMS I only get a sms/text notification saying that I have received a MMS and that I have to go to the t-mobile website. I can't view the mms on my phone.
Is this because I need to install a program to view the MMS?
I am able to send MMS, I just sent a MMS to myself and I received it without a problem, but as a sms/text message, not the MMS itself.
Really annoying!
Hoping to get an answer.
Cheers!
It sound like a problem with your settings...
Go to the t-mobile website :
http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=home&cat=SOFTWAREDOWNLOADS
and send the settings to the phone once installed do a soft reset.
you should install both MMS and internet settings...
if this still doesnt work then you may have to try setting them up manualy ..
Heres a link to the manual on how to do it and the settings you need:
http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=selectphone&phone=HA176
if that still doesnt work you will need to call customer service there maybe a problem with the settings on your account. tell them you have done the above steps cos they will want to do them again with you and if you get someone in the phillipines this not a easy task.. they should transfer you to technical support and they will sort it..
any more problems just ask as i have worked for T-Mobile for nearly 4 years..
Thank you!!
It worked!! Thank you very much!
The first option didn't work as I have a dutch number. I did try to send the mms options to my phone via the dutch t-mobile site but they don't have the settings yet for this phone!
I then googled for "t-mobile mms instellingen" (settings) and I found them. Did it manually and now it works like a charm.
For the dutch people interested, here is the site with the settings:
https://www.t-mobile.nl/persoonlijk...lgestelde-vragen.aspx?q=algemene instellingen
Thanks for pointing me in that direction!!
Cheers!
You normally get that text about going to the website to get your MMS when the network thinks your phones not MMS compatible or you don't have MMS messaging live on your acc.
Hi sorry only just getting back..
managed to speak to technical and what they said is they need 5 examples.
date time number and postcode of area you where in.
so they can raise the problem and get your mms profile reset and should then be fine.

No notification of new message

Hi, I have a very strange problem, my HD mini doesn't notify new messages in any way, neither ringing nor vibration. I installed SMS Hotfix from HTC, but it didn't help. I have checked all the settings both in Sense and also directly in windows, I also enabled "wakeup on new sms" or how is it called.
Please, what can be the problem??? I have the most recent European ROM, Radio: 0.63.05.05, Protocol: 32.26.05.04U
Ok, I have absolutely no idea how is that possible, but it was all due to the fact that I changed the language of manila (well known registry tweak)...
Look here, let us know if it helps
Works like a charm thank you very much... (I swear I tried to search first)
let me thank you too. finaly sound with incomming sms. working graet!! thanks again!!

[Q] No SMS-notification when receiving a voicemail !?

Hi all,
Need some help here.
I've got my Omnia 7 for almost a year now. I always received an SMS notification when I got a new voicemail. Since recently this doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure when this stopped functioning.
I have recently updated to Mango. A while after that I applied the Samsung Mango update. I suspect one of those updates causes this, but I'm really not sure.
I do get other SMS messages.
I have tried to put my SIM in another phone, called myself, left a voicemail and got an SMS on that phone immediately. Also the other way around, I put another SIM in my phone, call the number of that SIM, leave a voicemail and I did not receive an SMS. This proves, the problem is with my Omnia 7.
I've tried Network Profile. Select another operator. Then select my own operator. Just to make sure all operator settings are applied.
I checked with my operator (dial voicemail and use menu). The SMS notification is enabled. I tried to disable the notification. Restarted the phone. Then enabled the notification again. Restarted the phone again. Still not working.
Anyone has another suggestion? Setting in diagnosis app? Registry setting?
Thanks a lot!!

It's a common bug, M$ is fixing it:
“There have been reports of issues centered around voice mail notification via SMS. This is a known issue and Microsoft have a fix available that will go out in the next possible Windows Phone update.”

Ok. Cool! Thanks for the heads up! So it's not just me. There are some OEM updates planned for next week (read that on WMPowerUser.com). Maybe that will fix it. I read the temporary fix might be to delete the "sms conversation" from voicemail number after each message. Will try that. Maybe WP7 sees it as duplicates or something.
Ciao,

My pleasure
Can't wait for some more updates, Mango needs some polish.
This drove me nuts when i realized it was happening, couldn't for the life of me work out what was going on, rang my network and had them reset voice mail, didn't think it was a phone issue as all my other text msgs arrive fine. At least I know now >< very annoying bug as i use my phone for work and need to know if i have msgs on voice mail.
Have just been going through same arguments with Optus in Australia.
Discovered there was an SMS waaaaay down the list of threads from 321 (VoiceMail) that had one message in it with the current date and time acurately showing the current number of messages in my voice mail box.
It seems that it is somehow updating the previous SMS rather than sending it as a new one.
For a temporary work around I discovered if you delete the SMS thread from your Voicemail then the next notification will be treated as a new SMS and will indicate accordingly. Unfortunately you have to delete the thread every time a new Voicemail is received.
