ActiveSync Calendar MSVCR71.DLL - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I use CHT9000 with ActiveSync 4.2. Other than the occasionally hard reset it needs, it is working well. One problem that has been killing me is ActiveSync 4.2 with Outlook Calendar. It keeps giving some error on the module MSVCR71.dll and it dies. If I choose not to sync calendar, it works okay. I searched the whole wide web, it seems to be a problem here and there but no one has provided any solution.
I've gone restored to factory setting and it works for a week. The problem keeps coming back.
Anyone has experience on solving this

HELP - Syncing qtek 9100 to Outlook 2003 SP2

I've searched and haven't found any help at all with this. I'm trying to sync my 9100 with outlook 2003 sp2 as indicated in the title. I can establish an activesync connection and sync notes and files as well as explore the device and install software, however whenever I try to add tasks, contacts or calendar to the sync options I begin to get an error.
Basically what happens is that it will save the settings and then I get an incomplete sync with an error code of: Support Code 85010014. I've searched the microsoft site and can't find this code anywhere. I've followed the activesync 4.0 troubleshooting guide, but since I am establishing a connection that doesn't seem to be the problem. I've been a PocketPC user since day one so I'm not new to any of this, but I'm really at my wits end with this issue. I've hard reset and reinstalled activesync more times than I care to count. I can also still sync with my old jam just fine. Any help would be appreciated. Are there any unique configuration issues for 5.0 devices relative to Outlook 2003? Does it not like running in cached mode? Thanks in advance for any help.
If you are trying to connect to your home machine try:
Delete Any Partnerships From Activesync & the Device
Uninstall Activesync
Uninstall (Not Repair) Outlook - you'll probably need your Office CD for this.
Reboot
Reinstall Outlook
Reinstall Activesync
Cross your fingers
This has seemed to work for some people but not everyone.
There is a known issue with folder redirection on corporate networks. The Activesync team is aware of this and an upcoming version of Activesync will address it. For the moment the the only workaround is to turn off folder redirection. Unless you are a sysadmin, this is not likely an option for you. If you are in this situation, then unfortuantely you'll have to sit tight - like me.
Hope this helps.

I also had to uninstall both the latest outlook junk update as well as the junk update from office sp2 to get as4 working properly.
Success. What worked was to delete my current Outlook profile and account and then set it up again. The first time I did it I didn't delete the outlook.ost file and the new account settings just referred back to that file and I had the same problem. The second time around I deleted that file, configured my outlook settings and got that working and then syncing started to work as well. It took a little time, but has been working well since then. Thanks for the help. It's really strange that my jam and ipaq continued to sync thru AS4.0 just fine, but the qtek wouldn't. Appears to be some weird combination of WM5.0 and AS4.0 that causes the problem.

OTA Push Email Activesync issues

I've search and searched to find a solution to my recent activesync over gprs woes.
For a few weeks, it was working like magic and I could sync all my data to my exchange server over GPRS. Then suddenly, last night it stopped working. Completely. Gave error code 0x80004005.
So far, I've been able to figure this out.
If I hard reset my device, it all works fine again. Strange.
If I hard reset my device yet restore my information/programs (using sprite backup) it doesn't work.
Now, get this. If I uncheck "Email" in my sync options, it works fine. I can sync wirelessly my contacts, calendar, etc. If I include email, however, then it doesn't work and gives me that same error code.
Any ideas? I don't want to hard reset and start completely new (ie., not use my backup to restore programs and settings).
Any help greatly appreciated!

From ceebz's link:
Problem could be caused by a specific folder or item on the device. The problem persists unless you delete the item or items, which can be difficult to identify. Usually a new sync relationship syncs successfully.

That is VERY true. It could be as simple as a single email in your inbox. Try this:
1) Make a sub-folder under your inbox
2) Move all mail to that sub-folder
3) Try to resync your mail
Did it work? I bet it did. Then that proves the problem is one or more emails in your inbox. It is up to you to figure out which one, but I would focus on one that came in the day sync stopped working.
Nope, guess that didn't work-- i deleted all the items for last 3 months from in box, still no go =(
I thought it wouldn't help anyways since it will let me sync IF i hard reset and do not restore anything at all before syncing.

Are u trying to sync your Sent Items folder? I had the same problem and after searching for almost 2 days, I discovered that that was what was causing my problem. After changing my sync properties, all was working well.

FIXED: ActiveSync Trouble - won't connect

Today my ActiveSync connection stopped working.
It tries to connect for a while then it comes up with "ActiveSync cannot connect to the Windows Mobile powered device. ..."
WM5torage works, so does pinging the Wizard.
Things I tried:
-Using the repair option from Active Sync setup
-Reverting the Wizard to a 3 day old backup made with SPB
Nothing worked :-(
What else (other than a hard reset) could I try?
See below for solution. And don't touch the notification queue if you don't know what you're doing
check if you firewall is blocking the activesync connection
if this is not the case ... good luck
try reinstalling activesync..
or get the latest one..
Install this cab application and select serial instead of RNDIS, just tap at YES button, and activesync will work perfect
Activesync gone mad
I am having the same problem with activesync not actually syncing my contacts and calender despite making all the noises I usually associate with a successful sync. My contacts are not updated and my calender has none of the appointments from outlook uploaded to it.
I have done a soft reset. a hard reset, gone back to activesync 4.2 and nothing works. I have also tried the usb switch that is mentioned elsewhere and no joy. I have other ppc's running PPC2003 and these are fine and update almost immediately, its only my xda mini s that is being a sod. I never had a problem before activesync 4 and several other machines before the mini s. I should also mention that my outlook files are fine and work on all other machines.
It is bad business that the world is becoming dependant on such bad software as this. It is not progress to make things worse and Mr Gates should be held to task for the problems caused from forcing us onto unreliable software in the name of progress. I was happy enough on activesync 3.8 and WM2003 and never had problems.
Please, Please someone give me an answer before hammer and xda meet in heated discussion.
I have the same problem with my MDA and both my PC and Laptop. I have been trying to resolve this problem for months. It is unbelievable that it is so hard to resolve this issue. I have been posting on this forum and on others and still am looking for a resolution. Maybe someday, someone will resolve this issue. Thanks for your postings and help in trying to resolve this issue. Frustrated beyond belief.
Sorry, this did not work either: Install this cab application and select serial instead of RNDIS, just tap at YES button, and activesync will work perfect
Update to previous
Just an update. I have tried this on another machine using the pst file from my machine and it syncs fine. Clearly, there is some problem on my machine with my software.
I have also removed outlook and reinstalled it. Also removed all profiles on main machine. At present, my calendar will sync but my contacts will not. Outlook tests say there is nothing wrong. Short of a complete software install I can not see another way to cure this other than the big hammer.
Go figure.
p.s.
If I had a hammer and Mr Gates was in front of me I would not be held responsible for my actions.
I found a corporate firewall that was preventing sync, I have to shut down the service and then it worked. Strangly, it would sync over bluetooth without stopping the service. A bit OT, but I can't seem to browse while synced. It asks for proxy info which I type in but it says bad user name/password. I KNOW I'm putting in the right proxy info (it defaulted it from my PC which browses fine) and correct user name/pw/domain. Any ideas?
FIXED
No firewall, no ActiveSync, no connection problems at all.
Fixed it by reverting my database to a backup.
When i had the well known alarm clock troubles i accidentially (= out of ignorance) deleted the whole notification queue.
Word of advice: Don't do that, it'll screw everything up

1. What is the purpose of the Notification queue?
2.What does it have to do with ActiveSync connectivity?
3.How is Notification queue set to make AS work?
Still cannot resolve my connectivity problem with my MDA. Thanks in advance.

Still looking for some help on this.
check this solution:

Is this related to the inability to pass-through browse while on activesync? I am able to sync fine, but when I try to browse I get an error saying bad proxy info (which I've check 1000 times). Or sometimes when I'm messing around with the settings I get a "lost connection" message rather than the invalid login/password. So frustrating! Will switching to the serial type of connection help me?
ActiveSync must be one of the most frustrating applications out there. I have tried all recommended fixes and still cannot get ActiveSync to recognize my MDA. The last time I did a sync was 9/06. Too much BS using this application. I have searched all over the web and cannot find any application that will allow me to update my PIM file without ActiveSync. So, I guess I will finally give up on this. Thanks to all of you who have tried to help me. Thank You!!

0x80883001 - AS error?

I've had this come up a couple of times - major PITA - where you have to do a manual reset of AS - loosing updated information from the previous update. I googled that error and searched for it here, but found nothing helpful and no mention of it in the forums here. Anyone have this before or know if there's a way to fix it? I'm running g4 with the tnt 4 or 1537 (?)
Anyone? Bump!
happens to me too
it's sooooo obnoxious. I havent been able to find a pattern yet. It just randomly seems to give me that error. I'm using the htc kaiser w/ wm6. i do sync my pda between my laptop and my desktop. I've done that before with my htc blue angel and never had any problems with it.
it seems to happen at least once a week. the annoying part about it for me is that I have to delete all of my calendar items, contacts, and tasks on my laptop's outlook so I can sync them.
I don't have that problem anymore - and not sure why. I've switched roms so many times I think it might have been related to the rom - or maybe even the dst updates.
Work around
According some microsoft posts (users, nothing official) this is caused by syncing email containing sub-folders. I haven't tested other than to stop syncing emails. It works fine if I don't sync Emails.
Good luck!
I've seen a lot of ActiveSync errors (I hope that's what you're talking about, or I'm going to sound very off-topic). Use DotFred's Task Manager to remove all duplicate notifications from your device. 9 of 10 times, this will resolve ActiveSync errors.
I bet you're right. I think it has something to do with snoozing reminders on the pda and the pc and them getting out of sync...
Solved... no
I red that if you dont sync email it will work - i tried:
While geting errormessage i vent to activ sync and disabled syncing of mail. After that i start synking. This sync ended up doing a resync, wich means tatt all voice commands and keyboard shortcuts went directly in toilet.
I will keep this setting for a while and se of error comes back.
Please keep positing possible solutions, this sync error is SO frustrating
its the same with me here...
it does anoy me so bloody much...
i will deselect email as well. lets see
resync everything again, cvause something on the server has changed... thats always the message...
it sux!!!!

I can connect and flash but no sync with vista!!!!

I am new with a touch HD, I had a Himalaya and a prophet before, now a new HD since yesterday. I could sync with VIsa a couple of times, but when I saw that I had synced with 2, I removed both to start clean again, but now I can't sync any more, I always get a message that there is a problem with repllog.exe.
I tried everything. I reset the hard spl I reinstalled my original rom, nothing!! I still can't sync and I don't know any more what to do.
It is very strane that I can flash a new rom, but no sync!
I can sync on windows XP! But I hope to find a solution, coz I want to contue using Vista

I have a laptop with Vista and WM7, but sync only with WM7 and it worked until tonight. I changed to Vista and it started to sync with Vista, which I stopped because the outlook version was not up to date any more.
Later I discovered that I had 2 pc's to sync, and I removed both to start over clean and then it happened. I can't sync any more, I always get a message that there is a problem with repllog.exe.

PS I used Restore_Stock_SPL_114_2

Shameless Bump
Strange, not sure what the problem is. Only thing which comes to mind would be to upgrade vista drivers
Problem solved after flash
I flashed Dutty's V2.3 (after hard spl) and now without changing anything, my HD syncs again!
Same issue --- HELP!
I updated to Windows 7 (clean install on a Dell M1330), and started to get problems with HD freezing randomly when not connected, after I started syncing with Windows 7 - also losing all Contacts data - kept getting message that a change had been made on the server which required me to resync. When I did so, it lost all my Contacts data - this happened several times, so I thought it's time to tackle the issue. Attempted to resolve the problem by reinstalling WWE 1.56 (using USPL). Now I get the same repllog.exe issue, which prevents me from syncing at all. Using Office 2007 suite for Outlook etc. I'm pretty much at the end of my tether with this device now... deleted and reinstalled WMDC, uninstalled, deleted and reinstalled drivers, hard reset and eventually clean reinstalled the HD. No change. I'm sure it's something simple, like both devices trying to overwrite one another - but cannot find the answer yet.
...starting to solve it...
OK. After all this BS, maybe it's not so difficult.
I deleted the relationship (yet again!). Then set up a sync relationship, but with NO items selected. This time, the sync completed successfully and immediately.
(this empties and rebuilds the repllog file)
Next, I repeated the exercise with only contacts selected. Now it syncs Contacts OK.
So I suspect that the problem will be with the email files. Maybe I have to set up the accounts on the 'phone EXACTLY per the previous settings before I try to sync the email to them?
Anyway, I've got contacts data and a working sync relationship, so at least something achieved at last.
...and hey presto. It now syncs perfectly, with everything except Tasks (which I don't use). So I guess it has something to do with conflicting settings between the app on the PC and on the sync setting.
Hope this helps.
