I was playing with the regional settings and change the time format to hh:mm:ss.
After 12:59, i realized that hh means military time (13:00, 14:00 instead of 1:00pm, 2:00pm)
So I changed it back. But my times are still stuck in that military format. tried restarting, rebooting, changing to military and back again... but NOTHING.
HELP!
Bump!
One of the Gurus here could figure this out for me, no? It's driving me crazy! I'm tired of having to pull out a calculator to know what time it is (okay my math isn't that bad, but you get the point).

My phone automatically adjusted itself for daylight savings but now all my alarms go off an hour early. For instance, I set an alarm for 3pm and it will go off at 2pm showing that it should go off at 3pm but still showing 2pm on the phone clock. Hope that wasn't too confusing. Anyways, has anyone else dealt with this and know a fix? Thanks guys.
alarm fix
set your alarm a hour later
lol sorry some had to say it apart from that have nothing to suggest
You might try changing the time zone and changing it back. I had a similar problem with my Cingular 8125 after DST.
All you have to do is reset the alarm time, that will be fine. I got the same problem when my phone ajust to DST.
Hey guys .. newbie here. Great forum by the way, I'm very glad I found this place as it sure does have a lot of useful info on it!!
I'm having a similar problem here, and I'm curious if there might be a patch for it. I have a Cingular 8125 and my clock keeps going back an hour all the time, which in turn messes up my alarm, appointments, etc. I did change the time zone to -7 Eastern instead of -6 Central but I'd really like to get this fixed for good. I heard there's a patch available, but dunno where to find it.
Any help is appreciated!
I left it charging all night, then this morning I took the usb lead and connected it to my laptop to copy some songs over. I unplugged it and then left it 30 mins and got it out on the train to listen to them. Anyway it just rebooted suddenly, showed "hero" and then a reddish icon showing a battery so I took it out and put it back in and it works. Any idea what caused it?
Mine has rebooted itself on a couple of occasions but only after it had run for more than a week without a soft reset. My WinMo phone has to be soft reset at least once a day so I'm not complaining.

Hi, thanks for the answer. Does this happen often? I've had my phone for over 2 months now and this is the first time it happened. The icon definitely looked battery related. Has anyone else had this problem, as I'm wondering whether to send it back or get a replacement battery or something
I wouldn't worry too much about it.
nothing to worry about.. think this gonna happen if you dont reboot the device manually for a long time (lets say at least a week).. mine does it also from time to time, not really often.. its okay
Mine was funny last night. It had over 80% charge and when I ckecked for email it was off. Tried to switch on and it wont. I took the battery out for a couple of seconds and back in. It was alright. Few hours later My home and other screens defaulted for no reason. Never happened before!
Hero gets funny now and then! It probably wants to ignore all our commands and over rule anything it doesnt like.
For your info, I am on latest MCR and radio .......6.18
Network:3 UK
PS: I dont know if altering APN has anything to do. I changed APN from three.co.uk to (3Internet;three.co.uk;3UK) without brackets.
I had to do it like that because Hotmail will only connect via 3Internet and moddediskoot for Skype will only connect via three.co.uk and thridly sipdroid will connect via any.
Hi folks!
Few weeks ago, my HD started to NOT to show actual time on homescreen.
For example, as I'm writing this, it's 19:23 and my HD shows 19:05.
I didn't figure it out why it does that...
When I soft reset it, that helps, but after 12 hours (or so) it starts to do it again...
I did search for the solution, but without success...

That's exactly the same problem happen with my HD. Even I already flashed my ROM.
Anybody can help.....?
@ksunarko - do you get this straight after the flash? Or after you've set the phone up, installed the apps you want etc?
It could be an app you both have installed which is causing a problem... I've not heard of the issue from others though.
Although, recently my phone has twice shown the time as 00:00 on the wm6.5 lock screen, Manila is OK though. Soft-booting sorts it out each time. It's been alright for a couple of days though.
Problem report
Lately I'm having this problem too. Mine stays two hours behind. 2 hours that make the diference for my time zone. So I've synced my location and that did the trick. It changed my time zone back in the clock settings and corrected the actual time. But still this is a problem, because if this happens over night and you have set a wake up alarm in the morning for a important meeting you ain't gonna make it...
I recon there is a registry setting that defines your default timezone, so if you change that to your time zone should do the trick... I think .
Also,
I'm not sure if it's related but, since this started happening I'm having signal issues sometimes I can't make myself clear to the other person when talking. It's always braking up so I have to ask if he/she understood.
Also I was keeping it only on the gsm band to save some battery... and I figured it could be operator related or that something's gone wrong with GSM signal thingamagig so i've changed that to auto band (3g+GSM).
Should I worry, is my HD a gonner should I sell it, get a newer model...
What do you think abuot it?
I've recently started to have odd time related things happen on my HD2. Alarms set for 4:45, for instance, go off at 3:45 (not always; just occasionally). With my local time set to US Central Daylight Savings, times for other zones, including Eastern in the US and Central America are off by an hour (fast).
Anyone have an idea of what settings I should check?
The real oddity is that these times change from day-to-day or even during the same day. Today for instance, the times in other zones were off in the morning, but show correctly this afternoon.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is this a custom ROM? I know I've seen several chefs posting changelogs like "Timezone issue fixed, hopefully" lately.

Standard ROM. This morning all times are correct. ??? Can't figure it out.
could it be your pc is causing it? i once came across a situation where the user had chosen 'no' when his pc had asked him 'do you want to automatically adjust for summer time', and he set the pc time manually himself, , but this then sent his phone wacky because it WAS trying to auto adjust, but every time he synced it would move back an hour, and then re adjust when he restarted it (the phone), and so half the time it was an hour different than the PC.
Probably a long shot, but your post brought it to mind.

I have my PC clock set to automatically adjust for DST. So far today everything is correct. Just plain odd.
Thanks for your reply.

are You experimenting with android? it's my main suspect. on my device I set g-alarm for 5:00 am just to be surprised with alarm at 6:00 am. :/
today I am testing my hd2 again w/o any androboots during the day. we shall see...
just to let You know, today everything was as it should be. ... I don't like android that much anyway...
So, Love my HD2 still, but...the bloody thing deleted itself last week on Friday.
I seacrhed the forums and found this to be a well-known issue, but no fix that I could find and I want to be able to sync with Exchange without worry.
I was wondering if anyone has a fix for this "lock-out" issue.
PS-yes, I have hacked the registry to give me SOME of the original options back for the calendar other than snooze five minutes, but I want my old options back (2 weeks, 1 week, 2 hours, etc.)
To HTC:
This is very upsetting and I hope that this gets read.
With all its foibles I still loved this HD2.
It does not do the calendar well: I need things to be able to snooze for more than 5 minutes. I would like the functionality back for multiple snooze options.
The battery life is pretty poor.
Other than that I have loved this device-UNTIL NOW!
Last week my phone locked me out.
I am synched to my exchange server at work and policy mandates that I use a password for this in that I work in an FQHC.
All of a sudden I wake up and the phone will not let me in.
Now, I am not employing a genius password it was "2222." That was it!
I tried again and then once more and the phone prompts me to input characters to make sure that my keyboard is taking the strokes properly. It was.
I removed the battery and tried again. Still nothing.
I note that with my fumbling around that I have exhausted 6/8 of my attempts.
I wait to call HTC.
I get on with my IT department first and ask them if they forced a password change. They had not.
I called HTC and was told that this was terrible...have I tried removing the battery?
Yes. Then I am asked to do it again.
I do so. When the phone comes back up it states:
"You have one more attempt left. If you enter the wrong password again all of your data will be erased." Mind you, I am not pushing any keystrokes, just resetting the phone.
Then the rep asks me to do a soft reset.
Stupidly, I do so.
Upon rebooting the phone informs me that it is resetting the phone to factory defaults, wipes the whole phone INCLUDING my SD card which had photos, movies and other.
I look on the forums and see that this is a KNOWN issue since back in MARCH!!!
All of my information is gone.
I will not be able to sync to the exchange which I need for my calendar and work emails because I refuse to lose EVERYTHING again.
I spoke to another HTC rep yesterday and he was simply aghast. Very knowledgeable gent, but did not know how to address this issue.
So please, along with the calendar, the battery, and some other much needed updates...what is your team doing to resolve this "lock out" issue?!
I can almost deal with the other problems, but this one?!
Please, let me know.
Very sincerely,
for the snooze, use bsbtweaks "windows dismiss x notifications" tweak.
or go to hklm/system/shell/notification/oem find customUIDLL and change the filename to,well, anything. bsbtweaks adds a "2" before the ".dll"
Will this work even though my company forces out a lock as its exchange policy?
I found some interesting answers in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=582660
it has nothin to do with lock, it simply stops the htc snooze/dismiss popup from showing, so it defaults to the windows one.
for the lockouts ive never used lock so never seen the problem, so can't help.
I found an answer that seems to work (for now) in an old post linked to a WinMo Blog:
Enable/Disable the Exchange security policy - HKLM\Security\Policies\00001023: 0 = Enabled; 1 = Disabled
I just did this moments ago and the forced password is now not being forced, but I do not know if they push the policy out more than once (like every 24 hours). I guess I will find out!
I saw some other keys:
"HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies" folder.
00001005 to 1
00001006 to 1
Have not touched these yet.
I am a little worried that if they kick the policy back in I won't have the proper password (or any) and will not be able to get in, but I guess this one is going to be trial and error for a bit.
