Clock slow sometimes

Has anyone had problems with the clock, it sometimes seems to be lagging behind. Any solutions?

I have... and no solutions as yet except for soft reset.
The lag ranges between 20-30mins...
However, I've noted that the "problem" sometimes happens after I sync with my Mac. But since it happens only "sometimes", its a real pain to troubleshoot.

Yes, I have the problem too. But after a while, the time will automatically sync-up again. It is just pretty annoying.. Some times I got shocked when I look at the time.. haha..

Yep 20-30 min.
There's couple of noted reasons in other posts
- one, could be the ActiveSync
- again this could be due to system clock sync or outlook-exchange sync
- two, could be the Quick-GPS download, not sure of this though
So far only one solution seems to fix it to some extent, i.e. checking the automatically sync time with network in the Phone-settings, have to wait and see. Anyway, it atleast confirms the problem is with the s/w not the h/w

Started noticing the same problem, sometimes it can be upto 30 minutes behind. Is this a TouchFlo bug displaying the time?
I do have the setting to sync with the phone network set and still doing it.
HTC need to get this fixed

I get this myself too, i think its something to do with outlook, becuase usually when i recieve new mail the clock is corrected
are there any apps for WM6.1 that sync your time to the atomic clock servers?

actually dont worry about it, i was reading some other threads on the clock problem and have downloaded gTimeSync, i'll see how it works out

I got that the other day. My watch said 6:01am, my Topaz said 5:45am....But when I looked at 7:30am, they were both the same. In that time, I had not connected it to anything, but I had turned the phone function on at 7am.

set time zone popup

duno if anyones had this problem yet but my phone keeps popping up asking what time zone even tho ive set it many times. ive hit done clear and ok but it doesnt matter .. this becomes a problem when your in the middle of taking a video or responding to an emial or whatever and it pops up randomly. .. ive searched but im not getting relavent results .. any help is appreciated

I am having the same issue... was not happening on stock ROM but have had the issue with the 2.5 manilla on multiple roms.. the current rom i have only pops up once in a while.. but previous roms were having the popup every few seconds.. would like to know if anyone has figured the issue out also...

I think its an issue with Manilla 2.5. Thats why I have that feature disabled.
Are you guys using TP2 in T-Mobile service? I am using TP2 in AT&T, I thought maybe that was the issue! But I guess its the compatibility!

yeah its on tmobile for me tmobile branded as well... does it in all roms it sems very annying i was doing a recording and it popped up stopping my record same with video .. NOT GOOD.. hope someone who knows an answer will respond cus im surprised anyone did at all at this point

It has to do with the bands, if you are on 3g and lose 3g service it switches to edge which brings up the time zone pop up... it's very annoying.

ok well that kinda makes sense its nice to have a reason for its stupidity lol ... so why isnt there a fix ? the kaiser and mogul never did that.. the only thing ive sen was a rom i tried that had in the changelog something about time zone fix or whatever but it still happened on that rom too

This also seems to occur quite often after locking my phone and unlocking it with the pin number. Makes sense after reading this topic why the time zone selection appears after you unlock it. If someone can create a cab fix for this, it would be most appreciated! Thanks.

I am having the same problem. I tried to ignore it but it is getting kind of annoying. I have flashed about 6 different ROMs in the past week and it is happening with all of them. After finding this thread, I tried to make some changes to see if I could get the Time Zone settings to stop popping up and may have fixed it. I noticed that under "Items" in the "Today" settings, HTC Home was selected in addition to TouchFLO 3D. I disabled HTC Home and have not noticed the Time Zone settings pop up since then. If someone else can try this, we may be able to confirm this as a fix for the Time Zone pop ups.

If you go into settings>personal>phone> time zones that should fix the problem. I've done it on all my flashes and it works.

It has been over 4 hours and I have not gotten a Time Zone pop up... Has anyone else tried disabling HTC Home? If so, please post your results.

Since my last post I disabled auto update of timezone and still haven't had one. I was going to flash a different rom because of this, THANKS FOR THE ADVICE!!

Hero crashes every now and then, how to use logfile apps to check reason?

Hi all,
my hero crashed every now and then, i'm not sure what causes this. This really annoys me, because taking out the hero battery is a hassle. It happens like this:
- hero is in sleep mode for some time
- i can't wake it up anymore, doesn't react to any hardware button input. Screen stays black.
- i can't softreset
- only taking the battery out will help out.
Now i want to know who the culprit is, and use a logfile app. My problem is following:
will the logfile app help me at all, AFTER the crash has occured and i reboot the phone? Will the logfile have entries from BEFORE the last startup, or is everything lost by rebooting my device?

Shahpur, I have this problem and when I called HTC Europe they said they have never heard of this happening. You press every button and nothing happens. You don't know it's off because the screen is in sleep anyway!! And like you the only thing that gets the phone back is taking the battery out. And then it comes on again. I initially took sim and battery out when it happened, but after it's happened a few times I now know you only need to take the battery out which is a pain, because no buttons will wake the phone when it dies. They said it is probably a hardware problem and not software so a reset or upgrade of ROM will not make any difference and want about 3 or 4 weeks to repair phone, which is not even 2 months old.
Has anyone else had this problem yet? The phone just dies until you take battery out.
I've done 2 factory resets but nothing helps, and I don't want to send it back for a repair.
How often does yours do this?

hmm i would say it happens sporadically every now and then, maybe once a week or so.
But this is definetly not an hardware issue. If the OS fails to respond after getting into sleep mode, i can't imaging that this is a hardware fault which works flawlesss otherwise. I never had any problems with the hardware buttons when working with the device so i think this has to be software od OS related...i have a lot of 3rd party apps and i think it has to do with them...
I will not send my device back because:
you cant easily reproduce this bug, so i'm pretty sure that the repair center will not be able to reproduce and fix this issue. Therefore you might get the same device back, or another device which may also have any other problem like dead pixels, LED problems and so on.
Since my hero is working perfectly and has no other issues besides this annoying bug, i will wait for the next android update and hope that this will help the system get more stable...

well they said I was the only one that reported it and as I am in the UK and you are in Germany I doubt this is true. But I would be interested to hear if anyone else has reported this issue. It's really annoying, I get it every few days, and on Monday twice in one day. It's not where I am as it has happened in 3 different locations, but I don't have any 3rd party apps, or any apps downloaded, so it is not that I'm sure. Have you done the new update and had the problem since then as well as before the update?

i think i had the issue already with the old firmware, and the new firmware didn't fix it too. My device also crashed twice yesterday...
interesting to see that your device crashes without any 3rd party apps...so i think the best way to dig deeper, is to check the logfiles.
hope somebody can answer my logfile app question, so i can find out what was the last task before the device crashed.

Yep, there are no added apps on mine, yet........ So, don't worry about them, It's the phone that you and I have. But we are in the minority. I was offered a reconditioned by Orange, but I don't want a second hand phone with more problems like you say

Just as a matter of interest, what happens if you call the phone when it is in this state?

Mine is a SIM free purchase from Play.com

in my case it was most definetly a 3rd party app which caused the crashes. Since i have like 40 apps installed i'm not sure anymore which one was the culprit, but it seems like i have either uninstalled the app or a recent update fixed the problems.
i didn't get any freeze for many weeks now.

Got an email back from HTC advising a Hard Reset. Did this last night and no more crashes so far. Fingers crossed

Clock changes itself 1 hour continuosly

i have had a problem that has been plaguing me and my phone for quite some time now, i have asked around and combed search engines for an answer, i have never found the solution, but i have found others who had had the same problem looking for an answer, after all this time, i have just found the solution, and it has fixed it 100%
i thought i would post it here to save the time and hassles for anyone else having the same problem
the problem is that my phone would change its time 1 hour almost every time i would synch it up to the computer, i changed settings on the phone in timezone, and also the settings for daylight savings, i modified the settings using schaps config tool, and hard reset my phone countles times searching for a solution, but none of these methods worked beyond a day or so
it turned out to be a setting in the 'phone' settings 'timezone' tab, tucked away in an odd place, this checkbox was left unnoticed [one could be forgiven for assuming that time settings would be somewhere around the clock section] i guess being in the phone section it 'may' be updating the time off a phone tower or something???
anyway, checkbox is labelled 'automatic change timezone and clock' and this needs to be left UNCHECKED
Almost been a month now and problem solved
i hope this helps out anyone else having this unique problem
p.s. this would happen with WM6.1 Roms and also WM6.5 Roms

Phone keeps changing time zones

Hi all, my TMOUS HD2 randomly changes time zones from EST to PST at least 2-3 times a week on its own when I have "my location" picked as a time. Anyone else have this problem? I flashed to the new T-mo ROM about 3 months ago...Tj

My device and a friend's device is having the same issue. This is irrelevant to the ROM as I am running a Artemis after the 3.14 and my friend is on 1.48

mine just recently started doing that..keeps putting me in the GMT -5 (Indiana) time zone instead of the -4 (Atlantic) I've had to change it like 3 times in one day. Never had a problem with this b4. Wonder if it has anything to do with the ThrottleLauncher WP7 theme i installed on it the other night..because that time setting seems to be changing to.

my uk hd2 keeps doing this over the last week or so, randomly jumping ahead timezones. it's persisted accross multiple energy roms and a stock rom.

my HD2 was doing this but only when i would go home to visit in Richmond TX. When i would update weather manually it would switch to eastern time zone. I think this is because the phone thinks I am in Richmond VA so it switches to Eastern time. I havent found a viable fix for this but its not really an issue.
IS there a chance you are using your phone in a city or town that has a common name in another state? this might be the reason. While riding my motorcycle a while back i stopped in London Arkansas and my phone thought I was in London UK.

same Indiana time zone default issue. I HAVE THE LATEST 3.14 original ROM with c00kie's home tab.

Same here with the original ROM installed. I live in GMT+1 timezone and it sets my time one hour ahead at least 5x a day. Pretty annoying.

Hmmm... wondering if this issue has no fix, or if its not wide spread enough... It DEF has something to do with CUSTOM roms, because both me and my wifes HD2 worked like champs for a month straight out of the box, with location services and the whole nine with out ANY problems, I flashed ChuckyROM and here it is... No matter how many times i change the timezone, no matter how many soft resets, no matter how many ROMS flashed, the time keeps jumping... sometimes one hour, sometimes 2, it onlys corrects when i DISABLE all time syncs and locations... WHICH SUCKS and shouldn't be the fix... ANY HELP would be appreciated , THANKS IN ADVANCE

That happened to me a long time ago. And I remember I fixed it either by checking/unchecking something on the Windows Mobile Device Center (or ActiveSync), something in the sort of NOT synchronizing Outlook items (no problem with me because I never use that anyway; I use MyPhone instead).

think i have a fix
disable the option in settings - menu - all settings - personal - phone - gsm/umys services - time synch
you can leave the option in settings - data services - internet time sync enabled.
not sure why its changed, i have stock everything....

I know this problem.
And I think I know the reason for this "acting out".
It started for my HD2 at the day of the
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME change.
I believe the makers of that phone forgot to install
a daylight savings option.
It would be great, if someone could make a clock that will do that,
or that will verify the time with a different time service,
taking into account daylight savings time (winter/summertime).

Nope. Its a problem for org ROMs also. It probably has somting to do with the Internet-provider or the providers of weather-app etc.
In my case the "my lokation" in the weather-app is showing wrong place. This error appeared at the same time as the clock-problem.
