MortPlayer = no work with screen tap sounds - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

It took me a little while to figure this out. Mortplayer makes everything sound like the bionic man jumping or running if you've got the screen tap sounds enabled in Sounds and Notifications. Nearly pulled my (last remaining) hair out trying to track this down. I hope someone else is spared my agony.

I knew a man once who had one remaining hair. He grew it so long it whipped him to death in the wind. God rest him.

Dropped Wing in Cup of V-8 Splash Berry Blend

Dropped it right in. Took it out fast and pulled out battery. Whats the chances of survival. I took the phone apart. Cleaned with cutips and blow dried it. Its currently in pieces in bags of rice.
The chances of it working are very slim, honestly I think you just made yourself a $300 paperweight (heard someone else say this thought it was funny) but goodluck though

Hey, keep your fingers crossed. I had a Tmobile MDA and I was on the phone when I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and I leaned over to dry my hands and yup, you guessed it, dropped it in the toilet! When it fell in, I saw a large spark/flash. (The toilet was clean btw)...so I instantly pulled it out, and pulled the battery out. I left it on a cloth towel, and let it dry out for 4-5 days. To my disbelief, it actually worked again. The only issues I had after that, were 2 of the keyboard letters were hard to press. I mean, you could press them fine, but the letter didn't recognize until you pressed the button with some force. Don't worry too much, but I would definitely let it air dry for atleast a couple days before trying. If there is any water on any of the circuits when you try to power up, that's when you fry stuff! Good luck man!!!
wow what a coincidence running across this thread. I dropped my wing in the toilet last night and I almost cried because I thought it was done for. anyway I quickly pulled it out when it happened and took the battery out as well as my micro sd card and let it all dry for about 6 hours(i know that's not enough time). After I put it back together I was shocked to see that it actually powered up. Everything seemed fine at first but then I opened the start menu it started to cycle through everything on its own so I immediately shut it off and took it apart again and let it dry for 6 more hours. After I let it dry and put it back together it stopped moving on its own and everything works fine now with the exception of the down arrow. it no longer works for some reason and I am referring to the down arrow when the phone is in the closed position(the keyboard not showing). Anyway im thankful that the phone still works and it could have been much worse but not being able to press down in the closed position REALLY sucks. the moral of the story is to take better care of your phone. also, if anyone has an idea of how I can fix my down arrow not working please do tell however im assuming it short circuited or something but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, not having your down key def. does suck, but atleast the touch screen works, so you can still use your phone. As far as fixing it, don't really know any way to without cracking it open and doing some doctoring. I know you can use a softkey program and reprogram a different button on the face to act as the down key if you miss it that much. Hope this helps.
Well everything on the phone seems to be working correctly. However if you look at the screen at an angle its crazy looking. Definately some damage was done to the screen but if you look straight at it you wouldnt be able to tell. Maybe in a couple of days ill start to notice some stuff going wrong but so far everything is working. Thank God.

Yeah, I forgot mine did that too, but I think it was just condensation built up under the screen. That went away on mine, but it took a couple weeks or so. I don't think you will have anything crap out on you. If it hasn't already, I think you are fine.

Quiet Speaker

OK, so I have an issue. It'll probably take a universal solution, but since it's for a Slide I'm asking here, haha.
A few days ago, I was cooking and I had my phone out ( never doing that again D: ) and a bit of a buttery sauce splashed and got into the front speaker.
Now when I'm making calls, I can hardly hear what the other person is saying, it's so quiet. Is there something I can do about this? Maybe heat up the area and melt whatever's in there? I dunno what do since its got that little grill type deal.
I hope there is something easy enough that can be done. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I would not heat up the phone. Especially since the phone is over 90% plastic. What I would do is simply blow out the substance with a blow dryer set on cool or blow it with my mouth if I don't have a blow dryer. My girlfriend had a similar issue, but in her case she dropped the phone and I guess dirt got into it. I simply blew into the speaker (which is located in the back). I kept doing this for about 1minute straight and it worked for me. Whatever you do, do not use heat! Also try to blow out the substance with the battery unattached to the phone and the battery cover off allowing better access. I hope I'm not too late and I hope this helps.

[Q] Trackball trouble

This just began happening the other day and I dont know why. I didn't drop my phone, spill anything on it, nothing..it just started happening for some reason. The trackball will not scroll to the right anymore. It does spin to the right but no screen movement happens at all. If you have a Nexus you will know what I mean by this but when you roll the trackball you get like a gritty feeling as you roll it. I get that feeling in every direction except for to the right. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this or anywhere I can send it to get repaired. I also have the Vibrant and still have my G1 (also thinking about getting the G2 when it comes out) so I can send it off without worries of being without a phone.
Any help would be appreciated. I already tried a little WD40..no luck tho.
The trackball is probably just dirty (happens with all trackballs, ie blackberry and apple mighty mouse). Just turn in upside down and rub the ball vigorously in figure eights on a clean sheet of paper.

Thanks for the quick response..will try it when I get home. (I am using my Vibrant today) I will post back if it worked.
Put some alcohol on a napking/swab/cotton ball and then just roll it on the ball, press while rolling too a couple of times. Do it in a slightly fast manner and in all directions.
i have the same thing but to the left. Thanks for the tips, I'll try it out.
EDIT: norazi's method worked. lol

Who else plays with their kickstand. I do.

I was reading another thread and noticed another user flicks the kickstand in and out when they're bored I do the same thing how about you guys? Just trying to make small talk before I ask you all out. My name is Yevo.(fututlrama reference btw not actually looking for a date)

If I'm not doing anything, I'll mess around with the kickstand. I don't stay still very well you see...
Haha I do, everyone looks because it makes that clicking sound when it goes out then in.
I do the same... When Im on the phone at work I flick it... Or I hold the phone by it and spin it... I Probably shouldn't do that but oh well...
I'll admit, I fidget and mess with the kickstand whenever I'm in a boring meeting or whatever. Wore out the kickstand a bit on my first EVO doing that...
Yea, I flick it open and close all the time
I actually use it to prop my phone up. lol I use my Slingbox A LOT. I'll miss the kickstand, but it won't stop me from upgrading.
I know it is early in the thread, but not one penis joke?
I mess with mine all the time, I foubg that all it takes it a little pressure on the hinge side and it pops right open.
Haha yeah I do the same. I'll be standing somewhere reading on it while flicking the kickstand. It's become a habit of mine
yes i play with mine occasionally.
lol i do too when i am bored...
Only when my wife's out of town.

Exactly! I am constantly popping it up like that and slapping it back down
...giggity
-Just warming up!
yeah it doesnt take much to get my kickstand standing haha i dropped it when i was playing with it once and it fell on the kickstand, now it closes easier, opens quick, but stays locked in whatever position i leave it in
Haha, yeah, I flick it in and out all the time!
I'm actually surprized at how well it's held-up. When I first saw it, I was like well....that's going to break in a month!

I flick it out, touch the underside, then flip it back in place.

Man, that would have been a great marketing ploy: Built-in Kickstand, that also works for warding off needy girlfriends and other unwanted people - flicks in and out with ease!

Speaker Replacement

I got off work tonight and washed clothes, about 20 mins into the wash when it started spinning I kept hearing bang, bang, bang, bang. Went to look and noticed I could see my phone flying by. I took it out real quick, dried it off, and hit the power button and it seems to work fine somehow...I thought I was gonna be sad I'm pretty sure the hard case I have on it saved me from having broken glass <3 Seems to have had one casualty though, the speaker doesn't work anymore. Cannot play music or hear anything on the earpiece now. Bluetooth still works fine with my headset.
Are there any good sites to buy replacement parts? Doesn't seem like speakers should be too hard.
