I have a major echo / feedback problems when using my Xda Atom Exec handsfree. No matter what brand handsfree I use (wire, not bluetooth), all callers hear themselves speak. Same problems when using external speakers/conference call. O2 does not respond to my emails, do I have the only defective unit with this problem? I have upgraded to the latest ROM.

Hello all,
I'm considering moving up to the XDA Exec; especially now that I see many contributors here have worked out how to get it running well.
However I suspect that, with its bigger size, using a bluetooth headset will be even more important. My experiences with my XDAII were that it was never quite reliable enough to use day-to-day (even after trying different bluetooth stacks etc.)
So what are your experiences:
- does it work well
- how about the voice dialling via bluetooth
- caller id on compatibale headsets work?
cheers,
Pete
I'd say it depends on your headset, but yes: The Exec handles my Bluetooth headset more reliably than my XDA2 did.
I've got a SonyEricsson HBH-65 that was occasionally great and occasionally infuriating with my XDA2, but it seems much happier with the Exec. It's not perfect since it's tough to interpret the various bleeps and boops that the headset gives out and understand what they mean, but I'm getting used to it. It'd be a lot easier if the headset makers could give us more than one button...
With my HBH-65 and my Exec I can receive calls and use voice dialling to make calls (provided I've configured the voice dial commands already). The voicedial bleeps are a bit quiet in the headset but trial and error might improve things.
Some people seem to have problems using voicedial if their Exec is closed and turned off, but I don't seem to have the same problem. The first press of the headset button switches the Exec on and then a second one gives me the voice prompt.
Hope this helps
I've tried a Bluespoon AX and a Plantronics Discovery 640 with my headset and while they both appear to work fine functionaly, the quality of the audio is bad. I've tested the same bluetooth devices with other phones and the quality is much better.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'm going to go into to O2 later today and see if they've had reports of this before. Maybe I have a dud device.
I have an Exec, a Jasjar *and* an MDA Pro the Exec is mine, the rest is Eval.) and the Exec and MDA pro handle BT Headset fine. The Jasjar however keeps dropping the connection between the device and the headset. Flashing the MDA Pro with the Jasjar ROM made that the Pro also started dropping the connection between device and headset.
Conclusion, something is flaky in the Jasjar Rom.
There are a number of posts relating to this dropping of connection in this forum.
G'day
I have had the Jabra BT800 for a few months and never used it as it was pointless with the XDA IIs, but it works perfectly with the JasJar. It even rings about half a second before the phone does and shows the callers number (pitty it doesnt show the name from the phones contacts).
I am happy i didnt sell the BT800, as now i can keep the JasJar closed in my pocket when i just need to answer the phone.

ive used a jabra bt250v no problems voice dial is much better and works fine but i havent found how to get the audiogaeway working any ideas anyone so i can get tomtom throught the headset
JJ and Jabra BT 800 work well and voice dial works very well. Have made 1.5 hours in the last two weeks and not dropped calls. When used inside a car or in a room the signal is okay but as soon as you use the Jabra BT800 and JJ outside the signal gets weaker.
Here's something of an oddball question - I'm trying to figure out whether this is an issue with my device in general, the ROM I'm using, WM5, or my car...
Anyway...
I'm currently using a Cingular 8125 flashed with the 2.17 ROM that's been posted here. My car's bluetooth is the Acura HandsFreeLink system (preinstalled).
The problem I'm running into is simply this...
When I'm on a call and I receive a call waiting notification (which causes the number of the second incoming call to be displayed on my car kit), pressing the appropriate button in the car causes the device to switch to the second call BUT the call then gets transferred back to my handset.
I can't duplicate the issue using a bluetooth headset or by using another brand phone with my car.
Has anyone seen anything like this either with the Acura/Honda setup or with another bluetooth kit? Anything that can be done on my device to resolve the problem?
Thanks in advance!
Hi All,
Finally recieved my ATOM EXEC and must say I am impressed with this product, however I am wanting to know if anyone has tried to make or recieve any calls without using the Bluetooth Headset, or the wired headset. My problem is, that People can hear me but I cannot hear anyone through the phones internal speaker. However it will work on all forms of hands free. Can someone with an Atom exec, please confirm if they have this problem or not.
yes, the speakerphone on the Atom needs to be louder. At max volume, it's still relatively soft. Hopefully, there's some kind of fix
Not the hands free speaker
Hi thanks for your reply, I actually mean the speaker inside the earpiece when you hold your pda upto your ear, there is no sound whatso ever, and when I do an audio loop back test it does not work at all. How about yours?
yes, i was talking about the earpiece and it's really soft. Although my is working fine though....
for my atom exec, it works fine for phone call. No problem in any call(all in speaker phone and in bluetooth headset). I can hear sound of caller and caller can hear my sound. However, i've found problems when i use bluetooth headset to catch phone. It sounds hissing after i press accept call from bluetooth headset for a second then phone is normally.
My CHT version works fine, no such problem.

same as me work fine, only hissing sound when i catch phone..... (a little bit problem for me)
Atom Exec LCD still squeals like crazy same as standard Atom anyone else have same problem?
Have Atom Life with WM6 upgrade. When using it with my bluetooth car kit I can make outgoing calls with no problems at all. However when an incoming call is answered the bluetooth connection drops out (not the phone call) after about five seconds.
Have this problem with two different types of bluetooth car kits so it is definitely the phone. Have written to O2 however no response to date.
Anyone esle experiencing this problem?
I have had this issue on several XDA mini-s
When on the phone you can only hear the conversation through the headphones or bluetooth. Does anyone know of a fix for this.
Have tried the usual Soft-Rest etc..
Any ideas??
The microphone has problem
I think your microphone has problem.
You use a voice recorder program to test it!
