HTC TyTN hard reset - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hello,
I am so unsure if I am in the correct community but I have a problem. My buddy was messing around and put a passwd on my phone and when I shut it off- I have to enter a passwd. Now- I'm mad. I been googling for 2 days and w/o luck I decide to ask for help. How do I preform a Hard Reset on the HTC TyTN AKA t-mobile Vario ii??
Thanks in Advanced

Do you mean that you dont remember the passwd and you want to reset the phone to remove it?

Has anyone used this site to unlock their device? I''ve ordered an XDA 2i from the uk and should have it here in Saudi this week, was going to use this site to unlock it. Any comments???
Yes, DareDevil, I used them to unlock my 2i. Great service, as they say only takes couple of minutes. Their support is very good too. Be aware though that you will lose various settings and stuff. I had to hard reset mine after unlocking cos I lost MMS composer and the Phone Pad input. Good news ( imo ) is that o2 Active disappears also
Also if anyone out there can help me with setting up MMS on it again, that would be much appreciated. I've found all the setting but can't seem to enter everything I need. Where do I enter the URL bit? :?
So, anyway DareDevil, yes I highly recommend them.
Sorry to be a pain in the proverbial rear, do you think it will make a difference if I attempt to unlock the device from Saudi Arabia as opposed to uk (which is where the phone will be from)???
Secondly, did you manage to get the phonepad input back once you'd done a hard reset??
Cheers
Leroy
Not a pain at all mate
Wouldn't have thought it would make a difference 'where' you unlock phone. You run a program on your PC/fone which you send the results of back to imei-check people ( via email ) and they send you unlock code. it's as easy as that. In fact if you go to their web site
www.imei-check.co.uk
it tells you what you have to do.
As I said, if you still not sure, ask their support team. They really are very good.
Regarding Phone Pad, yes, after a hard reset it came back. o2 Active never returned, though I'm sure that won't bother you.
The only problem I'm still having is my MMS settings are giving me hell!!
@shanedean
Maybe you can download the original ROM from the O2 website and run it as you already have your unlock code (and I believe a ROM update does not lock the device again).
No good to me. I've unlocked it and am using my Orange SIM, therefore I need to recreate the settings that I have on my M1000. This is probably a very simple process, but it's driving me mad.

Not registering to network after soft reset

Hello all,
I apologize in advance if that question has been asked before.
It appears that i have to soft reset my JasJar couple of times (3 times sometimes) to be able to register on my GSM network (t-mobile USA).
I tried a hard reset with default apps. Upon reset, it registers fine. But if i soft reset again, i get no network. If i soft reset again it works eventually.
Anyone has had this problem before?
is there any fix in settings somewhere?
Thanks in advance.
Sounds like maybe a corrupt main or extended ROM?
I'd recommend asking for a replacement.
Ant
Hi
May be try another sim form another provider and another sim from same network provider and if issue persists, then looks like faulty unit??
Hope this helps

Password protected device

Hi,
I've bought a cingular 8525 in the US expecting to be able to unlock it with the unlock tool Pof released. When I received the device and turn it on to my surprise asks a four digit password. It is a password protected device. How can I get rid of this password in order to proceed with the unlock of the SIM?
If I hard reset it will this allow me to enter my own password? Will hard reset affect any of the features or sofware that came original from factory?
I've writen to the seller asking for this password but have not got any answer yet.
Thanks for any help!
Moscou
Would that be a PIN from the SIM card?
A factory default Trinity even for those branded ones should have a default password set and enabled.
If its a brand new device, apparently they played around with it in the shop where you bought it.
If its a used device, the guy who sold it was setting a password.
In both cases you should ask the vendor about the password.
As the seller is not replaying to your mail, its possible that its a stolen one. How much did you pay for it?
well, the vendor said the consignant is traying to talk with his tech friends to find out what is this password but I don't know if he will come with a solution. That's why I asked if I hard reset it will cancel the previous password. I don't have any data in the phone yet for it is brand new so I am not afraid of loosing any data. I just need to know if a hard reset will solve the problem or if there is any other way to get rid of the password.
thanks,
Andre
If you don't have any data in the phone then trying a hard reset won't hurt because it'll re-install to factory (or currently installed rom) default settings. I don't know if this will get rid of the pin lock but it's worth trying.
Also, try a different SIM card as ww2250 said. This might be the problem.
Has anyone performed a hard reset and remember if the password was cancelled?

I have the pin for the SIM card I use in my other cel phone. I inserted the SIM card and typed its PIN and it didn't work. I believe it is requesting the device password.

I bought it at ebay express with a vendor with a hi score feedback. I've paid 400 bucks for it. The seller is answering my emails but didn't give me the solution for the problem.
Hard reset it. This will clear it.

I have three words for you:
Call your seller.
Seriously.
If he/she won't give you the password, demand a refund, and report them to eBay management. It probably won't come to that, though, since this was probably just an oversight on the part of the seller. There isn't much else you can do.
There are (probably illegal) programs available on the internet that claim the ability to circumvent or recover such passwords. I would be extremely skeptical about their claims, and their motives, but your desire to hack the phone may overwhelm your restraint.
