thanx in advance.

Hi, I already answered you in the upgrade forum as I saw the post there first.
Two things to add:
1) Please avoid posting the same thing in several forums.
2) There is an app called Wm5Storage that will turn you device in to card reader. If you have an SD use this app to access it without ActiveSync.

SD card blocked.Brand Toshiba
How to unblock the SD card.i cant format the SD card.

Did you check that the little plastic switch is not in the 'lock' (up) position?

yes it's in unlock position.

SD card problem

hey, can u all solve my problem? my SD card only can read...but when i want to upload anything to my SD card it can't upload the file...wat's going on?
thanks
how big is the card?
what program are you trying to upload to the card with?
kingston SD card 512 MB...i wanna upload it with my business doc. with pocket excel, adobe etc. format... but i can't upload all of these doc. dunno wat's gonna on mate...
are u trying to upload via an SD card reader or the pda itself?.
ohhhhh i know whats happening, i have this problem from time to time. its the conversion via activesync, even if you have a card reader the pda wont be able to open the doc anyway becuase there is something in it that it dont like.
sometimes macros upset the conversion or a weblink
wooo... ic2...is there any solutions to solve it up man?...when i wanna upload a doc. via activesync i can't upload it...but when i upload the doc. through card reader i can upload it n when i used ppc to open the file i still can open he file sometimes... maybe i missed some program in my ppc?
thanks 4 ya co-operation
yeah ive given up trying to move stuff around via activesync, you can turn off the conversion in activesync options.
there are other activesync type programs around ive never tried them though
could it be that you put the sd in read only mode? there is a slider on the side, on position locks the card so you can't write on it, like floppy disks used to have

Installng TT6 to microdrive

Hi Guys' - I can't seem to find anything about this (maybe too bleeding edge ) but I don't want to commit my miniSD slot to just running TTN6.
Does anyone have any hacks or proceedures for getting it to run off the microdrive instead. I have the full package - DVD + miniSD.
I tried copying the entire 1GB miniSD to a folder on a 2GB one and trying to manually install from there. It does install but upon running claims it can't see any maps...grrr.
Regards

go Tiger!!!
you need to put the maps in the root folder of the sdcard/microdrive
pocket mech
pocket mechanic can move programs from one drive to another, cleaning up the registry, links etc.
but can it move programs from sdcard to another sdcard with only one sd-slot?
well you could still move it to the microdrive first and then change the cards.

You can enable USB Debugging, get the proper drivers installed, and use Droid Explorer, that is what I do.

Thanks for that information - yesterday I downloaded the drivers that were supposed to help with this but I still do not see the external from the pc.
What is droid explorer that you mention?
Thanks

Droid Explorer.
From what I've read, this is a honeycomb issue I've tried everything and can't see my external sd card on my pc. I've tried multiple programs that claim to work, but haven't found any yet.
I can't install droidexplorer on my computer, if errors out because of 64bit. I made the changes in the registry that are suggested with no luck.

I know that this is probably covered in another thread but, since it was mentioned in my resolution, I am curious the benefit to rooting?
Is it worth it for an average user?
Seeing external SD card
bweave - I am repeating what I have said in the "lost files from my sd card" thread, but here goes. I use the old fashioned method of mounting my sd card in a r/w card gizmo (I use a cheapo Wal**** Targus card reader writer) I attach this to my desktop via usb and then can see the card as a mass storage unit in Win 7. I can then delete files or add music/pictures/movies and when done I put the card back in my a500 where I can then see and display the files perfectly. I do realise that this is not the most tech savvy way of doing it but it works and touch wood I have never lost or corrupted a single file. In the other forum thread several people were continually losing files from the sd card. Now if you are talking about external usb hard drives and not just the sd card then I can recommend the app "USB Mount All v1.3" from the Marketplace with this you can see and mount/unmount all external sources - cards, thumb drives and hard drives. Hope my two penneth worth might be of assistance.
Sorry bweave forgot to mention if you use USB Mount All you will need to be rooted

I'd rtaher go and buy a microsd reader for my computer then root the tablet.. $4.05 with zero risk of bricking anything.

[Q] Transferring Files from your Computer to SD Card

Hey,
No matter what Android ROM (SD option) I choose to use on my HD2, I cannot seem to transfer files onto my SD Card. Let me explain... I plug my phone in, activate the disk drive option, drag and drop some music into my Music folder on the phone, disconnect, go into the File Manager on my phone and nothing is there. If I plug it back into my computer and check the SD card, it's all there. Why can't my phone see it? Is there a different location I need to store this stuff to access it? Is that why the phone has trouble seeing stuff off the SD card because it's in use?
If any solutions could be offered, I'd be extremely grateful . Apologies if a similar thread exists, I've searched and searched and can't find anything to solve my problem!

Hi,
My suggestion is to always use a card reader, thus avoiding any chance of data corruption.
Some programs have i a specific libraryfolder. Files placed elsewhere cannot be found.
Pick any explorer app to check if that app can see the files or use anothe player.

There is an app called "DROPBOX" that will help you transfer files over to SD without plugging it in a bit like Bluetooth

Language is not a problem... a few questions:
1. Have you used "USB device unplugging" from your PC, or have you just pulled out the plug? Sometimes Windows is buffering and writing the files (especially large ones) even if it displays message that the process is complete...
2. After purchase, have you formatted the card from the phone's level?
3. Are you sure that you have copied the file into EXTERNAL SD card, not to INTERNAL memory?
4. If you'd try to copy any small file, what's the result (before doing that, see 5 below)
5. Have you moved the file (copy on PC would be erased), or have you copied it (copy is still existing on your PC and you could use it)?
If you have moved the file - dedicated for SD cards and/or for PC data recovery software may work for you to restore it.
6. Have you reset the phone? In some cases I experienced the fact that copied file was not visible on the card until I made the phone reset

first thx for the fast answer !
1. I just pulled out the plug.
2. Yes I format It to "Exdata" there Is also "NTFS" that I can tick. But I formated with Exdata.
3. Yes I´m very sure
4. I copied also a small file (5mb) It´s the same result :/
5. I moved and copied files.
6. I came from 16gb sd card It´s perfect worked. Do I really must reset the phone ? :/ or just a option?
just a question: Why is there no option for format to "fat32"? There are only Exdata and NTFS.

Ad 1: try to repeat with: unmount the device on PC
Ad 2: OK
Ad 3: damn...
Ad 4: Lucky you, you have a copy
Ad 5: same as for 3...
Ad 6: I do not know, but I had that behaviour a few times with my phone/64G card, so I suggested it to you.
To format 64G as fat32, you'd need the special software (please read more info here. BUT, please remember that I'm not certain if your phone would recognize that partition correctly.
With fat32 same problem

The pc read the card normally.
Only the videos are deleted.
Download GUIFormat & use it to format the card FAT32, put files back on & try in phone again.

Put the card in the reader, connect to PC, try to copy the video and other files. Try different types and sizes.
Remove card, put it back in PC. Are all files visible? If so - place card into phone, turn it on, and verify it.
