Email issues - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

This may not be the correct place for THIS question but I will ask anyway...
I would like to view email that has HTML code embedded.. For example I receive email from www.comics.com They send me the funny's everyday.. I can not see this because of some sort of limitation on the WM5 email client PRE installed.
Any idea's ? Any third party email clients ???
Also.. Anyone have a IMAP email account ?? I can not view any email in the HOME folder (inbox) I can only see email in the SUB folders.

Sending attachments through web email

When I use pocket explorer to check and send email using my web-based email accounts such as yahoo or gmail, the button to attach files to the messages doesn't appear when I create email messages.
Is this a natural problem of pocket IE? Is there any way to attach files to messages using web-based email and pocket IE?
most likely this has to do with how much PIE supports scripts/java and other things. I'm not so informed of exactly what the problem is, but suffice it to say that it is not supported in PIE. You might want to try netfront.
sorry, you can use a webmail like gmail which supports pop3 and then you can simply load those settings onto the Magician and work from there, that's what I do and it's far more convenient. If you don't have a gmail account and want one, PM me your email address and I'll invite you.
aha, thanks for the info Xilicon! Thanks for the offer as well. I have a gmail account already, but I haven't set it up for pop3 yet. I'll do that soon as I can. Thanks again!

Mailbox Copy

I'm looking for a function that allows me to copy multiple mails from one mailbox to the other.
Specific: i like to copy my mails in my pocket-outlook inbox to the inbox of another account on my PPC device.
This would save me copy-pasting mails, as pocket-outlook dont allow me to send/receive when im out and have only wifi or gprs.
(i know the story on the exchange and imap mail servers, im using pop3, and this mailbox function would be a great help)
anyone know this function, or can build this function for Windows Mobile?
kind of solution
I came around a mail-program that claimed to support mail copy between p-outlook mailbox and another self-setup mail account on your pda
See http://www.pocketinformant.com/ under Forums, Public/Beta Builds
there you can find FlexMail beta-version.
This mail-program claimes to handle the mail copy.
unfortunately, its not working yet on the beta version as I write this reply
BUT:
it supports the selection or te mail-account service when you reply, create or forward a mail.
This means you are able to send out a mail from your poutlook inbox via the mail-account you have setup. So no need to do a mail-copy to the other box.
For POP3 users that use activesync , this is a solution to handle pop3 email on you PPC when you are out. (as you cant send/receive the poutlook mail-account.
You only need to put yourself in bcc to get the send mails back to your PC-outlook.
good luck!

setting email send address.

Hi,
Firstly i appolagise if this has been answered else where, i have looked and it may not be in the right place but does come under software i guess, not the easiest of things to word.
Basically i use my diamond to connect to my exchange server which hosts my personal mail, i have a forwarder which forwards all my mail to the exchange, so i can easily pick up my work mail from my person exchange.
This is where my problem begins when i reply to a email or send it uses my exchange mail box.
I have added the work mail box to my phone with a rogue pop3 for source email so i am not pulling the same email from 2 sources, and specified smtp correctly and used the right username\pass.
I hoped by doing this when i send an email or replied it would ask me which account to send from however it uses which ever account you are in at the time of creating the mail.
I don't know if anyone else has achieved this or even tried anything similar.
Any suggestions welcomed.
thanks in advance
james

Opening .eml or .msg attachments on HD2

First XDA post. Love the forum but never had a need to post before. I am a long time user of windows mobile and the primary reason I buy windows mobile phones is because of their ability to open outlook item files.
I recently purchased the HTC HD2 from T-Mobile USA that is running windows mobile 6.5 Professional. When trying to open an outlook mail attachment I receive the following error message, "The attachment is of a file type that could be unsafe. Messaging will not open this attachment".
My profession requires me to proof-read emails before the are sent. My company does this by attaching email drafts created on a desktop by Microsoft Outlook and are typically .eml or .msg files and sent over email. These file types were supported and viewable in WM5 & WM6. How do I enable them in WM6.5?
I am currently using Energy's ROM and the stock T-Mobile USA Radio but I was having the same issue using the Stock T-Mobile ROM. I am comfortable with registry edits if that's what it takes.
Please help if you have any ideas. I've searched all over the web. If anyone would have the answers, you guys would. Thank you.
So I figured it out. After weeks of downloading multiple 3rd party email applications I also created a windows live email address which can receive emails from my work email address and push them to my device and I could open them in the default messaging program.
I found that I could open the .eml attachments using the default messenger through my microsoft live account which was strange and all I ever wanted but when I replied, I did not want it to be from my live account, I wanted it from my work address.
I went through all of the settings to see what could possibly be different and found the live account was set up as a pop3 and my work account was imap4.
I deleted my imap4 settings for my work mail and created a pop3 for the same address and now I can open .eml & .msg email attachments. Yay!

So just where are those imap4 settings? Are you setting up your work email on your phone as an Exhcange client with IMAP4 settings? Or is that on the MS Live setup?
I have this issue with email from my work Exchange account to a personal email account that I have set up on the phone (Imagio/WM 6.5). I want to accept some forwarded items (like personally specific HR-related docs) and some calendar items to update my phone's calendar, but I do NOT want my employer to "own" my phone, so am not willing to set it up as an "Exchange extension" (don't want that remote control, or 90% internal email spam to deal with).

HTML Mail and Copy & Paste

I have my wife and my phones syncing with our Exchange server. The problem we are running into is that the mail app doesn't display HTML e-mail correctly. It shows the simple text version of the mail. This causes problems with some links that my wife receives for her work from the MLS realty website. They are long, complicated links and the mail app doesn't mark them as links correctly so that they can be opened. I even tried to copy and paste out the URL, but I couldn't find any way to copy and paste from within mail. Am I missing something, or is there really no way to copy and paste from mail? Also, how can I enable the mail app to view HTML mail?
Bump......
Just as a followup to my own question...
The HTML mail problem with Exchange is only with Exchange 2003. I added an account hosted on an Exchange 2007 server and it displayed HTML mail fine. I even found a whitepaper from Microsoft that mentions one of the new features of Exchange ActiveSync in Exchange 2007 to be syncing of HTML mail, so it is on the server end. The iPhone mail app and Touchdown for Android both display HTML mail from an Exchange 2003 server fine, so they are doing something to overcome this limitation.
