Please help!!!
I run an xda iq on o2, with a hp ipaq rx5900 travel companion pda.
I'm trying to get my iq to share the gprs connection via bt with my ipaq so i can browse the web and download my e-mail to it on the move.
I've tried configuring my ipaq to connect with the iq through bt dial up networking using the following:
Dialling no. *99#
Extra dial-string: at+cgdcont+1,"IP","mobile.o2.co.uk"
I've even tried configuring the o2 GPRS settings on the ipaq directly i.e: u/name as mobileweb, password;password, primary dns; 193.113.200.200, alt dns; 193.113.200.201, but nothing works!!
Anyone have any clues?

Mike

Hi folks, sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search before posting. Currently running Ipaq 3660 and Ericsson P800. With Orange (UK) with 30mg GPRS connection for eMails, Internet etc. Pretty usless eMail client on P800 so I have set up Ericsson as a Generic IrDA modem on Ipaq (pocketPC 2002). Everything works great, connection wise.
Thinking of purchasing 02 Xda II but O2 signal is weak near home base. Would only be able to use GPRS through Orange most of the time. Would I still be able to connect with the P800 through Xda II, as above or simliar i.e. Bluetooth connection with dialing into ISP.
In summary: Use the Xda as an eMail client and P800 as the modem?
Many thanks in advance.

I have tried using the T-Mobile tool for suggestions to use my MDA II as a BT modem to browse the net on my laptop using GPRS:
http://us.t-mobile.mywds.com/
T-Mo will not help ("we do not support MDA II in US").
I am using the the Ambicom BT SD/CF PC Card Adapter for my laptop:
http://www.ambicom.com/products/air2net/bt2000cf.html
I have been unsuccessful getting my laptop to take advantage of the Bluetooth connection.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
My ultimate goal is to be able to view web pages full screen on the laptop and access company VPN (we can't access the VPN on the PDA).
Ambicom techies are clueless but I am guessing we have some regulars here who really know what they are doing!!!
The connection works flawlessly on my Nokia 6310i so it must work, just need the proper settings.
Thanks in advance.
Use the build in radio modem. Start Bluetooth (visible mode), search for the device and create a connection. Following services are offered:
SSA auf Pocket PC (Dialup Networking)
OBEX Object Push
For using the modem, launch the radio modem, select Bluetooth as connection type and press the start button.
Start the connection from your laptop.

Hi there,
I have an O2 XDAiis. I would like to put the SIM card from this into my Nokia 6230i and use my XDAiis as a PDA connected to my mobile through bluetooth. I have a IPAQ and am able to connect it to to my Nokia 6230i through bluetooth dialup networking but I cannot seen to be able to do this on my XDA. The connectivity I would like is a dialup modem and GPRS… please help
Thanks
Fiona
PS I am using the latest rom and bluetooth drivers from O2
HP iPAQ hp6515, its so better than i esitimated!
but unfortunatry, this doesn't have Bluetooth Dial Network Client service, eigther! like a Blue Angel!
it's means can not connect to the internet with GPRS thorugh the another Cell Phones such like a Nokia.
(of course PC can conect internet with GPRS through HP6515, this is another profile)
Now i got it, pls vist to my blog and see.

Way to go!!!
I have a Ipaq 4700 and have managed to pair it up with my Vario II and able to go online and browse with the Ipaq but will I be charged as I havent entered any dial up number or selecting bluetooth modem, is this using a differnt connection as to the web&walk? maybe wap instead of 3g ? I dont fully understand these diffrences so I'm not to sure
I have sussesfully used it as a usb modem for my laptop for awhile and everythings ok there, as the laptop conection dials *99# and uses the web&walk.
Thanks for any advice, Chris
