MMS problem

Hi All,
I have a trange pproblem - i cannot use MMS editor....
MMS server and configuration is there, registry keys are in place, but....
There is no "MMS" account when you try to switch message type..
Can anybody help ?
Regards
baudy
I have an O2 exec. I have the same problem, no mms account in message. Can anybody help to solve it, thanks.
Try using this CAB file, it's supposed to create a link to the MMS so that it becomes visible in Outlook. Once u install it, DO NOT soft reset until at least 20mins later........ Or at least I had problems when I did that. It's like the missing smses that has just been received......

Solved: No SMS notifications and missing SMS account in Pocket Outlook

Yesterday I noticed that I don't longer hear the SMS incoming sound (doesn't matter which soundfile is selected).
The message arrives and thats it no indication by either blinking, vibrating or alarm.
The problem only occurres with SMS, Emails and MMS are being notified in every possible way as it should be.
I had this problems once before and ended up with hardresetting my terra. Don't want to do that everytime.
I also noticed that the SMS/Text Message account in Pocket Outlook isn't displayed anymore just Outlook and MMS is avaible from the menu.
To avoid misunderstandigs I do receive SMSes and can open them at any time from Pocket Outlook. Just getting no notification alerts and missing the SMS account settings inside Outlook
Anykind of help or a link is very much appreciated.
Cheers!
EDIT:
Problem is solved now
How did you solve this
Hi,
I've got teh same issue.
How did you solve this?
Many thanks...
It's simple.
Just set "SMSAvailable" in the registry to 1 (enable).
This should solve your problem.
Cheers
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSAvailable"=dword:00000001
wtf
hi,
I think i ve got a more serious problem, with the same effects.
I can't see anything else at Messaging accounts, only a "Setup E-mail" button (no messages). I tried to set up an e-mail, but when i finished it goes back to the account select screen, and still only one option, to add a new email account.
After i press X and reactivate the screen on the Task Manager, i can see the Outlook's Inbox, but when i see the folders there arent messages only the Outlook e-mail.
I added the registry key you said, because there was only one key in that folder (nosentmessages 1), nothing changed.
I cooked this rom in my own, had i something missed to put in? If yes, are there any way to install that thing without recooking the rom?
Using WM6.1 Pro
Thanks

Did you try to edit the registry with the setting from post #3?

MMS menu missing

Hi
I'm new to this forum and not that technically savvy so apologies if this is a daft post.
I have a problem with my (UK) T-Mobile MDA Vario in that the MMS menu item is missing from the Start -> Messaging -> Menu -> Switch Accounts menu (I'm told it should be there).
I've followed the T-Mobile instructions for setting up the MMS server configuration and that all looks fine but I just don't see the MMS menu item to enable me to send a picture message.
Details when I start up the phone are as follows:
IPL 2.21
SPL 2.21
GSM 02.19.11
OS 2.21.2.6
Can anyone tell me how I can get the menu item onto my phone?
Many thanks
mms
why did you not look into the message folder?
it should be there
Thanks for the reply.
The only folders I see under the Start -> Messaging -> Inbox dropdown are:
Outlook E-mail
Text Messages
Is that the Message folder you mean?
Thanks
Claire
Official T-Mo Rom?
Some official T-Mo roms disable MMS settings editing. I believe T-Mo 2.26 rom does this.
Missing MMS folder
Hi
I had the same problem with my Cingular 8125. After many discussions with Cingular support and no success, I stumbled upon this cab. file, copied and opened the file to my device. I now have the MMS folders.
Have attached the ZIP file for Extended_ROM2.
Below is the cab file that worked for me.
MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Java5xx-CyberonVoice-CV-051220.CAB
I know how U feel. I am also new to these smart phones and only yesterday have I been able to configure MMS, Email and Internet.

Yes this is the folder where MMS would be along with Text and Outlook. Sounds like MMS was accidentally deleted as a new email account was being entered. You may have to hard re-set your device to get it back' or hit NEW at the bottom left, and enter MMS as the new account.

Does your camera have MMS option?
fixed! (well pretty much)
Hi All
Many thanks for your responses!
I tried installing your CAB file Rod and it seems to work a treat - the MMS menus and folder are there now and I can send and receive picture messages - result! When I restarted I lost them again though but I can live with that, I'll just install the CAB after each restart.
hotdog53, yes the camera had the option of sending via MMS but when I chose that absolutely nothing happened. Seems to be alright after the CAB install though.
Thanks again for your help!!

Hi Claire
Great to hear U has some measure of success. I can't remember offhand exactly which folder I installed the cab in, not sure if that would make a difference. Maybe U could try it in different folders. I have restarted my phone numerous times since and have had no problem. Maybe someone else could help out.I am now offshore India and had to leave my phone onshore, so no access to it for a few days.
Good luck
Rod

Softwareupdate, now problems!

hi!
I got a problem:
I did the official softwareupdate from the HTC website, but now I´m very unhappy!
as you know, all the sms are saved like a chatlog of ICQ or Skype. It is like this:
ME: ...
You: ....
ME: ... and so on!
MMS have been saved seperatly! But now in the new version MMS are saved in the SMS folder!
Can i change that? Cause i really hate it!
The version is: 1.56.407.2
yeah try search there are threads about
how to turn off threaded sms
thanks for your reply!
just the make sure: the sms should stay threaded, but the mms shall be seperated!
i used the search function before, but i did not know what to search for!
thanks ill try it later!
Edit: okay i didn´t find anything that could help me!
I want the old style back, cause windows deletes the sms after having received more than thousand by one person! but the mms should stay!
go to settings>system>sms settings and turn it from threaded to classic mode
thanks for your answer!
the sms shall stay threaded!
i only want the mms to be unthreaded again, as it was on my original rom!

You can find unicode setting from message tab, all messages-menu-settings-options.
If it's not working for u then try updating your ROM.
Now, you can download official ROM from htc site directly.
hey there,
the unicode thing is off and still im having those problems.. hope someone found a solution for it ??
This is a known issue and the sms hotfix has only worked for a small number of people - it's still an outstanding bug. There is a workround though, that works 100% of the time. You need to disable HTC messaging, and use the windows messaging app instead. Once there's a hotfix that actually works, you can go back to the much nicer HTC app.
The option to disable HTC messaging is available in BsB Tweaks. I'd recommend installing that, setting "SMS Mode" to use SMS "classic view", and soft reset your phone. If you have any messages stuck in your outbox, they still won't send, but any future ones will do.
BsB Tweaks is available here...

Good luck
SUPER !! thanks for the quick reply going to try that right now !

It worked for me, but then I had success with the hotfix too, so I'm sorted now. I still keep an eye on the outbox though
Good luck mate - hope it solves it for you.
Do the unsent messages remain in the outbox?
In that case, try setting sms mode to GSM instead of GPRS or wait a little while before putting the device in standy after pressing send.
When the device is suspended, it seems the gprs connection is sometimes deactivated and sms over gprs is not sent.
Worked for me; no more messages remaining in the outbox.

Yeah, that's another known workround, but it's not been 100% succesful. Can't wait till HTC sort this proper.
Installing the hotfix worked for me.
"-ish"
What I mean is that I have been able to send and receive SMS but not MMS. Installing the hotfix sorted out sending MMS, but I cannot receive. It may be something to do with O2 who have been having problems.
Whoa! MMS just worked and downloaded the picture, so it must have been O2.
