How create Emulator - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi all.
How can i create my own emulator by VS 2005 in my project and us it.(for example create window in my emulator).
thankc

What kind of emulator?
Eg emulate a gameboy on the phone? Or emulate the phone on your PC?
V

i believe that emulators are mostly like games don in pure arm code
they are not even programed using windows mobile sdk
much less minimfc or .net
if one wanna make exsotic stuff like that i'd avice one use a nativ arm compiler

windows Mobile 5.0 smartphone emulator.
in VS 2005 when you create projec and run it .it rans his own device.and i want create project and ran but where i can run my device emulator and do with it what i want.For example carete windows in my devace.
thank.

in vs 2005 you choose if the code is run on a device or on an emulator in the project settings

i want to write programm (for example create windows) and i want that my programm is run im my device which i create.
How can i do it?

Hi vijay555
Is there any emulator available (as per your info) for emulating my himalaya ROM on the desktop PC? Where can I get it???

Near the top of the screen there should be an option to choose what device to run on - Windows Mobile, or further down, Windows Mobile emulators. Just choose which device.

Destinator PN working on JASJAR

Hi to all
Just to let you know that i managed to get Destinator PN working on jasjar in true VGA mode.
How:
1º Install the destinator on device via setup / activesync.
(You should have the installation files copies form a w2003 device.)
2
Copy the files (exe and dll's) from the 2003 device.
From \DestinatorApps\Destinator to \DestinatorApps\Destinator
Create a shortcut of destinator exe on the start menu and is runing
Now the problem is that you have huge buttons………….. its no use...
For everyone used to vga devices (my self toshiba e800) you should know the reshack solution for true VGA on windows2003 SE.
(see the e800 forum on brighthand.com)
So open destinator exe on the pc with reshack
add the vga resource
copy it back to the jasjar
and it’s done...
The problem is the same as with 2003 in true vga the status bar appears on the midle of the screen
Screen shot:

x86 program emulator on Wizzard (WM 5.0)?

Hi!
Do you know if there is a working x86 emulator for our pocket PC devices?
I don't need speed, just compatibility. I'd like to use some special tiny program, that was written for windows 95, on my Wizzard.
I know some guys were installing some old "ordinary" windows on pocket pc devices, so there should be hope for me?
any information welcomed.
greetings from slovenia!
Admit it, you just want to play Star Flight.... I miss that game
Mamaich has a working version of Bochs I think, on his website. However, I don't think you'll get windows installed.
Where have you seen old windows binaries running on the PDA?
V
Veloxi on the WM platform...I'd buy that for a dollar!
I just have to add this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And this:

I saw a russian site where they guy had a dos emulator. but I do not belive it emulated the hardware needed for Win95. You are better off with a terminal service session on WinVNC, which I ise from my phone to a server in my data center.
I found this site (in German) showing pics of working windows 95 on a PPC:
http://people.freenet.de/renmi/ppc/
now we just have to find some manual describing how to do that
best
LOL...that looks cool but man, that has to be slow! Should be interesting to see what comes of it.
Guys, you can see that it says that it uses Bochs. As I said above, I think Mamaich has a release of it, or at least it should be generally available. That's a free, open source x86 emulator.

bochs - failure
hi. I am trying to play with bochs and dlxlinux
I have downloaded everything needed [except bochscr.txt - cant find it] but I think bochsrc.bxrc included with dlxlinux is good for me.
when I try to run it from dos box [functionality of pocket contoller] cpu grows to 100% for 1-2 sec and falls back to normal[0-3%].
every configuration I try cause same effect. on dos box nothing happens. no log produced [it is in configuration].
any ideas? anyone tryed it with success?
I run it with ..\bochs -q -f bochsrc.bxrc. ofcourse all files are correct.
Files are from http://mamaich.uni.cc/fr_pocket.htm

[HINT] Using Myriad JAVA taken from SE X2

Hello everybody,
Maybe a couple of you are like me not really satisfied with the integrated JBlend. It doesn't create shortcuts, looks bad etc. ...
For me the Java-client of the SE Xperia X2 did solve that problem. You can load it here: *KLICK* (Post 2)
Install it and if you're not using WWE-Rom then do the following changes within the registry:
ultrashot said:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\Esmertec Java]
"ProgramsGamesURL"="\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Games" ;this
"ProgramsURL"="\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs"
\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Games is a language-dependent part

Do a softreset and install any midlets you want. Shortcuts will be created by default (see my screen). With this JAVA-client it is also possible to run midlets in Landscape mode (2nd screen) - added Opera Mini to rotation support with BsB-Tweak.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If you want to open your midlets that are already installed on your device then go to Windows/java and simply click all the *.jar-files within that folder. They will now automatically install with the new JAVA-suite.
Maybe someone likes it as I do.
Cheers.
I downloaded the java from your link and installed it. however, I can't seem to find it in the list of programs. How do I access the new java engine? I am using WWE ROM.
As I said you have to reinstall your installed Midlets (can be found in Windows/java, *.jar-files). Then shortcuts will be created in your start menu. To see a list of all installed Midlets go to Settings (Wm6.5, not Sense), System and click on "Java".
Wonderful!
Thanks for sharing! Im using it now..
Great tip!!

marty
I have installed this on my Xperia X1, though when I try to run a file for Example: "Jbenchmark3D" it comes up with a message saying "could not start the JBenchmark3D application"
Any ideas what could be wrong? the icons for each app shows up in my programs list, they just done run (when I try they show the message above)
I hope someone can help..
Can it Run on Samsung i900/i908?
Hi, I installed Myriad Java on my Samsung Omnia i908, but whenever I run the Jar file, it just caused a certification problem. Can Myriad Java support Samsung i900/i908?
Thanks!
hey i tried to install myriad java on my omnia i8000 running winmo 6.1 official rom but it says "either it is not signed with a trusted certificate certificate error or one of the component cannot be found. try reinstalling." can u please upload the extracted jbed.exe in ur \windows dir please . . . . thank you.
I would like to know how can we change the fonts size in Myriad Java? In Esmertec Jbed, we could edit the fonts via registry tweaks, but I have not found similar tweak for Myriad Java. Anyone knows how?

Close all projects so that you see the small start window.
Then click Configure > Project Defaults > Project Structure.
There you can change the SDK path.
Or for just one project:
Open the project. File > Project Structure. Select SDK in the left column.
Looks fine to me, but for some reason it messes it up. I've even tried re-installing Android Studio.

It's in your dropbox folder. Did you try to import it?
Do you have a second installation of the SDK? A different one than the one which has been installed when you installed Android Studio?
Do you use the newest version?

Do you have a second installation of the SDK? A different one than the one which has been installed when you installed Android Studio? Nope, just the SDK with Android Studio.
Do you use the newest version? Yes, the VERY latest.

I use version 0.2.3 (I think it is the latest) with another SDK installation on Linux and I can create new apps.
Try to download the SDK on its own and change the SDK path.
With what IDE did you originally create the project?

Someone has got the same problem here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18033150/failed-to-create-new-project-in-android-studio-0-2-3
Or is it you?
Thats not me, but my SDK path IS correct. Very strange error.
Ok, I figured out what the problem was.
local.properties
I've had to manually set my SDK as '..\\sdk' to correct the path. It seems sdk.dir just gets added onto the end of the string (even if using quotes)

How to make the emulator faster?

Most of android developers suffer from the slow of emulator when testing their apps so i picked this method for you to make the emulator faster :good:
Windows:
Install "Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator (HAXM)" => SDK-Manager/Extras
Install "Intel x86 Atom System Images" => SDK-Manager/Android 2.3.3
Go to the Android SDK root folder and navigate to extras\intel\Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager. Execute file IntelHaxm.exe to install.
Create AVD with "Intel atom x86" CPU/ABI
Run emulator and check in console that HAXM running (open a Command Prompt window and execute the command: sc query intelhaxm)

}
Also don't forget install this one
P.S. during AVD creation add emulation memory: Hardware/New/Device ram size/set up value 512 or more
Linux:
Install KVM: open GOOGLE, write "kvm installation "
Create AVD with "Intel atom x86" CPU/ABI
Run from command line: emulator -avd avd_name -qemu -m 512 -enable-kvm
Or run from Eclipse: Run/Run Configurations/Tab "Target" - > check Intel x86 AVD and in "Additional Emulator Command Line Options" window add: -qemu -m 512 -enable-kvm (click Run)
P.S. For Fedora, for Ubuntu
Mac:
In Android SDK Manager, install Intel x86 Atom System Image
In Android SDK Manager, install Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator (HAXM)
In finder, go to the install location of the Intel Emulator Accelerator and install IntelHAXM (open the dmg and run the installation). You can find the location by placing your mouse over the Emulator Accelerator entry in the SDK Manager.
Create or update an AVD and specify Intel Atom x86 as the CPU.

For win: what about checkbox "Use Host GPU" in Emulation Options ?

The Use Host GPU option uses the host computer's OpenGL implementation (which is probably hardware-accelerated, on your real GPU) to evaluate OpenGL commands inside the emulated system. Put another way, when a program inside the emulator uses OpenGL for graphics operations, the work goes out to your real GPU, and the result goes back into the emulator, instead of emulating a GPU (which is very slow). The result is a significant speed-up, especially when you consider that most view and canvas drawing uses OpenGL in Android ≥ 4, even in non-graphics apps.
Also you can't use it with the snapshot option.
