Some questions about qtek s110 - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

I bought qtek s110 and I have some questions.
How can I switch on text message delivery notification
Is there anyway to switch on battery indicator as shown in the manual
Is there anyway in the smartdialing not to show the sim contacts.
Is there anyway to have voice dialing over bluetooth
Thanks

Well I don't have a Qtek so I don't know what custom software is in their ROM, but I'll try to help...
1: That should be on by default. Check Start -> Settings -> Sounds and Notifications and see if 'Text Messages' has any sound assigned to it.
2: Windows Mobile, stupidly, does not come with a battery indicator by default. Try something like this if you like your battery indicator to be in the title bar, or this if you prefer a more detailed one on the today screen There are plenty more here if you want to look.
3: Not as far as I know. Annoys me too!
4: Actually you can't do voice dialling at all without extra software like Microsoft Voice Commander or such. Google that .

Thanks for this program. It is exactly what I wanted. I was looking for something like that for a long time.
I found an issue for the delovery notification.
It is a registry entry
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSDeliveryNotify = 1 (DWORD decimal)
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSDeliveryNotify = 0 (DWORD decimal)
If i find a sollution for the smartdialling and the bluetooth headset this will be the perfect phone.
Thanks again

Bluetooth System-Tray Icon Issue

...long time lurker; first time poster...
did a search on this once and if it's here, sorry i missed it:
what is the reg-locale for ensuring the Bluetooth System-Tray Icon is enabled to launch when bt is active. since performing the following reg-edits, it no longer appears.
Increasing font cache and screen performance:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE"
Change "limit" from "8192" (default) to "16384"
Increase general performance:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\"
Change "CacheSize" value from "0" to "4096".
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\CacheSize=0x1000(4096)"
Change "EnableCache" value to "1"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt\"
Change "ReplStoreCacheSize" value to "4096"
Enable Cleartype in landscape mode:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings]
Change "OffOnRotation" to “0”
also... i did this one and then reversed it since i learned (after the fact) that cingular 8125 is already b/g:
Enable 802.11g:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\TNETWLN1\PARMS
Assign a value of 1 to dot11SupportedRateMask
Assign a value of 8 to dot11SupportedRateMaskG
thanks to anyone making time to reply!
can someone confirm that their actually is a bt icon that resides in the system tray (top bar) when bt is enabled???
maybe it was a fluke that i actually saw it there for a brief period today?
maybe i'm seeing things?
I have not seen that icon in WM5. But I would like to have it there.
Oh its there alright. In fact, in the online help somewhere on my 8125 it actually lists the icons and their descriptions. One of them is the BT icon.
Its beyond my why there isn't an application that can indicate with a headset icon to notify you if your phone is paired to a BT earpiece. Someone had posted once PhoneAlarm did it, but alas. It does no such thing.
If anyone else knows of a program that will tell you if you're currently connected to a BT device, please speak now!
Ok, found out where the icon is listed. Go to the main WM5 online help on the device and go to Personalizing your device>Over of the Today screen>What do these status icons indicate?
Towards the bottom you'll see the icon... IT EXISTS IT EXISTS!... sigh
it does because today... it appeared for a moment. it played peek-a-boo while device was bugging-out. glad to know i wasn't seeing things. i wonder if having the clock reside in the sys-tray has anything to do with it???
i have found this application http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1319 to at least show when the BT is on. It also tries to connect to a headset when there is an incoming/outgoing call. Not having a headset myself, I have not been able to test this function, but bt does turn on on a ring and turn off when I end the call.
i got this cab from somewhere here in the forum which shows the bt icon on the system tray, to allow you switch on/off bluetooth, i beleive it was designed for the universal but it works fine with my kjam (wizard).

Thanks! This .cab works great.
Now I only need the same type of icon for wifi. Anyone got such .cab file???
Works Great on KJAM JASJAR and EVEN A T O M !
Thanks.
I tried it on my k-jam but unfortunatelly... nada
I downloaded the cab file to my pc through the link, then copied the file to my devise and run the installation therein...
Am i missing something?
Weird
I installed this, and nothing happened, so I deleted the program, using "remove program" from Settings/System, and it started working. Go figure.
yeah,it works good on MDA Vario(czech TMO firmware)
pls have u got same cab for wi-fi ?

I'd like a small change in the today screen

Hi all,
I am aware of different task-managers being able to change the today screen. But I could not find the following.
In the today screen at the botton right there are three icons, "battery level", "wireless manager" and "screen turning".
I found a .cab-file to delete the battery from there, are there also .cab-files to delete the other two ? Or can I maybe do this by registry changes ?
Also the date is visible in my today screen, as I like to have it handy. But (mostly in landscape mode) I dislike the whole line to be empty. Would it be possible to displace the mentioned icons to the top of the screen, to be in line with the date. As I loose valuable real-estate on the date (to the right) and the icons (on the left).
Any ideas ?
Regards,
Ruud
To hide screen rotate icon:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Service\ScreenRotate
ShowIcon value change to 0
Default: 1
Changed: 0
Don't know the answer to the other questions, but switching wireless icon of could be simular, just search for showicon in your registry.
For showing battery & wireless in the topbar I use SPB gprs monitor. It combines battery & wireless (usage & connection) in one (position adjustable) icon.
Regards, M
Hi oltp.
works a charm, thanks.
I tried to take away the wireless manager with all different tricks, but could not manage. There is no ShowIcon DWord in there and adding it does not change anything either.
Actually I do not mind it being available, but i'd rather have it (and the wireless manager) in the same height of the screen where the Date is. That would definitely be a solution to save space.
I tried the Order DWord, but to no avail.
Anybody has any additional ideas ?
Regards,
Ruud
Search the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr and change the DWORD Keep to 0, soft-reset and voila !!!
Apparently it's on the wiki as well
Hi oltp,
perfect, apperently I was not trying enough. The icons are all gone and the real estate is used by other today screen things, very nice, THANKS.
Should anybody know how to put the icons in the "date-bar", please tell me, if not I am happy already.
thanks again,
Ruud
I set the Wireless Manager KEEP Dword to "0" , the icon does disappear but the "Fn+Right->" giving the wireless manager on/off menu also stops working. Do others have the same issue? I tried add a "ShowIcon" Dword to the registry but unfortunately it does not work... Any advice on this? Thanks.
Hi stanip,
looks like I was confirming happyness too early.
Yes, it is the same like with You, Fn-Right arrow will enter into the Wireless Manager menue, but all looks to be switched off, the screen-buttons do no work anymore and I cannot enter the phone-settings from there. (Wifi and BT settings can be entered)
Of course that's not so nice a price for getting that real estate.
Any better ideas would be appreciated.

Battery Icon & Time

Hi there,
I've just installed an updated AKU2 ROM, and all is well except the time is no londer on the top, and the battery icon is now in the title bar, not in the tray.
Does anyone know how to revert back to having time at the top title bar, and battery at the bottom (or not at all).
I'm sure I've seen this mentioned on here somewhere, but I can't find it anywhere!
Thanks
Taken from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WM5_Tweaks_Other

Hide/Show battery indicator in Task bar
If you wish to hide the battery indicator in the task bar on some devices, you can set:
HKLM\Services\Power\ShowIcon = 0 (DWORD decimal)
And to show:
HKLM\Services\Power\ShowIcon = 1 (DWORD decimal)
Note that this icon and its feature may not be available on your device at all. For example, the HTC Wizard regularly ships with a battery indicator in the Tray instead, governed by "Windows\Startup\Init_Tray.exe"._
_Note also that this reportedly does not work on AKU2 ROMs to remove the new battery indicator
However, if you get hold of one of the newer ROMs, eg 2.23 or 2.24 then you'll find that MS have come to their senses and have put the clock back.
Thanks, disabling th battery icon will do for me.
What program is best for reg editing?
please note that with AKU2.2+ ROMs, you actually need the following tweak instead ( listed further down that same wiki page):
Restore Clock on Taskbar when on Today Screen
The AKU2 update brought with them a, arguably lame, battery icon which replaced the Clock. Although the clock can be restored when running applications, it is permanently removed when on the Today Screen. Microsoft have addressed users' concern over this in the AKU2.2 update. You can restore the clock entire by setting the following:
Code:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock = 1 (DWORD decimal)

As for registry editor, I use PHM Regedit - works very well
Ok, in the registry I dont have \Services\Power
As I'm using an AKU2 ROM (QTEK 2.17) I'm guessing this won't work?
any ideas?

Correct it won't work, you need an AKU 2.3 based ROM like the T-Mobile 2.24 found here.
I have a screen shot of the today screen here.
So far, 2.24 is working well for me.
Well, AKU2.2 anyway. AKU2.3 is even newer
AKU2.0 though, you're SOL :|
And pre-AKU2.0, this wasn't even an issue
Still waiting for an official AKU2.2 update from Qtek myself... or AKU2.3.. whichever.
Use this program to show the battery icon back at the tray.

That works, but doesn't remove it from the top bar which is what I'm after?
i installed tweaks2k2.net to fiddle with the registry, did a few changes and soft reset the device. now i manage to screw up the area where the sound, radio, gprs icon and gprs monitor is located. now my sound and radio bar is hidden or block by something.
how do i get back to its original state? unfortunately i did not backup my registry. damned.
anyone?

update!
problem solved. i just need to apply the date setting back to the task bar and everything back to normal using the same tweak.

Newbie Question - How to get Today clock showing AM/PM ?

Owned a Cingular 8525 for just about a month now. So glad I found this forum, its full of wonderful information from a superb community.
I've just upgraded to XDA Live 0.2 and I have a question, although I don't think this question is specific to that version of WM.
The clock on the Today screen shows the time on the top line - but it doesn't show the AM/PM indicator. I believe this was the same under the Cingular theme under WM5 that came with the phone. If my memory servers me correctly, I soon found a way to modify that on WM5 and had the clock showing the AM/PM indicator.
Problem is I made that change in my first week of ownership, and now that I've just upgraded to XDA Live 0.2, I've completely forgotten how I did.
There doesn't seem to be any way to modify the display format in the Settings->Today applet. Maybe it was a registry change I made???
Anyhow, if anyone knows a quick way to make this setting, even if it means installing a separate clock app which replaces the default, I would love to know.
BTW I did make a search on the Hermes forum before submitting this post, but I couldn't find anything relevant.
I am not sure, but this may be connected with the regionnal settings. Try to play with those option which are located in settings
I've got Wisbar Advance 2 on my 8525 and by setting the time format to 'h:mm tt' it displays the AM/PM. Maybe there's a reg hack that can do the same with the standard toolbar clock?
Try:
Settings/System/Regional settings/Time/Time Style
and then choose the H:mm:ss option on the drop down menu.
Hope this works for you
The answer to this question already exists in previous posts.
The answer to this question already exists in the wiki.
If the above post by marissa does not work (remember you can scroll up as well as down in this option) then change the registry:
Go to:
HKLM\nls\overrides
and tap on key STFmt
Some valid entries for this key include
h:mm t ........(12hr, A/P)
h:mm tt .......(12hr with AM/PM)
H:mm:ss ......(24hr)
h:mm:ss tt ...(12hr, seconds, AM/PM)
hh:mm:ss tt .(12hr, seconds AM/PM, leading 0)
Once you have done this and saved it, LONG press the on off button and wait for the warning pop up saying device will shut down and unsaved data will be lost. Tap yes and then long press on/off button to restart. Do not use soft reset or else you may find the changes you just made will be lost and you'll have to repeat the process.
You may find phone is in flight mode on restart but just turn it off.

Re: How to get Today clock showing AM/PM ?
Thanks Marisa & Mike. I forgot to mention that I had taken a look at the Regional Settings applet too, and already set that up to show the h:mm:ss tt format.
Still didn't work on displaying the clock. So I then used Mike's tip about the registry. On looking at that key I saw it was already set to h:mm:ss tt. I modified it anyway, saved, and did long shutdown, long startup.
On reboot, I don't see the clock displayed with the AM/PM indicator. Oh well, thanks anyway. I'll go and post this over in the XDA Live 0.2 thread - maybe it is something to do with this ROM after all.
Thanks again.
Sorry, thought it was just the am/pm that you were trying to show. Getting the clock to show in the first place is different. Will post later, unless someone beats me to it!
At work at present.
Mike
Try some of these:
Change the display of the clock in the taskbar
The clock in the taskbar can be changed to show not only the time, but also the date, or just the date, or nothing at all.
To show nothing:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 0 (DWORD decimal)To show just the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 1 (DWORD decimal)To show just the date:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 2 (DWORD decimal)To show both the date and the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 3 (DWORD decimal)Note 1: If you switch to the Analog clock display, the date will remain visible -through- the Analog clock
Note 2: Setting the clock to show 'nothing' will still keep the reserved space, showing the taskbar background, and obscure any icons that will shift to the right.
Note 3: Your date may get obscured by the space reserved for the OK/Close button in the top-right. You can fix this my adding spaces at the end of your 'Short Date Format'. See also the tweak on 'Change the Short Date Format'
The wiki has lots of this type of setting see here:

Led notitification on new email event

Hi all,
i have an htc hd2 with the original windows mobile 6.5 rom (italian).
As I have written in the subject, is there the possibility to activate the led notification when a new email arrives?
With an "app"/mod or simply editing some keyword into the windows registry?
Many thanks
no help?
:/
i am writing this from my memory, so i'm sorry i can't be very clear about the exact steps.
press the Start button, look for "Settings". you might have to find "All Settings". once there, look for something like "Sounds & Notifications".
in the sounds and notifications settings, there will be a combo box where you can choose the event you want to configure. in your case, you want to configure the "new email" event. so choose it from the combo box.
once you've chosen the event, its current configuration will be populated in the bottom half of the screen. one of those settings will be something like "Flash light for" against which you can give a value like "disabled", "1 minute", "2 minutes", so on.
the above instructions might be a bit ambiguous but i KNOW for a fact that WM6.5 can do exactly what you desire in this thread.
Hi and thanks for your answer.
I watched this setting before writing this post and unfortunately in that tab there isn't any check relating "Flash light" or something similar.
...and it's strange 'cause for example when a new sms arrives, the led blinks. And selecting in the combo the voice "New text message" the voice "Flash light" still doesn't appear...
I'm confused
Incredible...
I have watched on my "old" tytn with wm6.0 and this setting is present.
No one knows if there is some key into the wm registry?
Maaany thanks
Have it on my NRG ROM.
Have a look into BSB Tweaks app as this has some LED Notification adding options.
Will look into my registry & see what I can find.
It is indead as easy as adding reg keys ...
do a search as got to be a few threads on this but as always XDA search is ****e, best doing direct in Google.

no solutions?
Try manually changing dword values as shown below.
Example is based on new email key;
Your current values are:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D65A-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}]
"Options"=dword:0000000d
"Duration"=dword:00000005
"AvailableOptions"=dword:0000000f
"Wave"="\\Windows\\Alert-Twitter.wav"
@="Messaggi: Nuovo messaggio e-mail"
My working values are:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D65A-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}]
"Options"=dword:00000005
"AvailableOptions"=dword:00000000
"Wave"="\\Windows\\Alert-Notify.wav"
@="Messaging: New e-mail message"
"Duration"=dword:00000000
change the "Options" value= 5 "AvailableOptions" value= 0 & "Duration" value= 0 and see if you can get it working.
You could also try copying your values from a notification that has correct LED function if above values do not work.
Also compare check box status box availability (greyed out) in sound settings for the key you adjust before & after adjustment to see if changes are showing.
Could always be a bug with something else on your ROM causing issue even when registry is correct ! perhaps !!

if you feel a bit adventurous, there are many guides here on how to change your rom.
you can choose to stay with WM6.5 if you want, in which case i would suggest looking in the HD2 WM6.5 development forum and try out NRGZ's "energy" rom.
and you have a whole lot of other more "modern" options like android and WP7, etc.
i know for a fact that all of the above options will give you the kind of notification options you desire! i used the stock WM6.5 only for the first 2-3 months after buying an HD2. then i switched to NRGZ's WM6.5 roms, and then i switched to SD android (the only kind of android available for HD2 at that time) and then finally to NAND android when magldr was launched in Dec 2010. when i used WM6.5, i used NRGZ's rom longer and later than the stock rom, so thats where i remember seeing the option for new email notification with led flash.
I too can recommend NRG 6.5.x ROMs, huge improvement from standard factory ROMs & for me so good I have not bothered with Android.
Thanks to everybody for the support!
Does the NRG 6.5.x ROM have italian language?

Yes. 29022 is latest 6.5.x build available in Italian & several choices such as close to stock or themed & with or without sense & CHT mod ...
Make sure you read up on requirements prior to flashing & follow tips such as hard reset after initial flash & first boot, small points but make big difference to bug free running ...
Good!
Now i have only to find "a little" of free time to read, flash and... reinstall again all my applications...
