Newbie Essentials O2 Germany for English users

First of all the correct unlock utility can be found on this post:

The next most important thing is to know how to do a hard reset, you hold the "Communication Manager" and "Voice Speed Dial" buttons while pressing in the soft reset button(that is the small button next to the IR port), make sure to keep holding the two buttons after you press the soft reset. Then a screen will apear to have you hit the green call button to make sure you want to reset. This will format your user info and make you peform the startup tests again.
If you want to load an english rom, I suggest the Qtek one since it is very easy and all the software runs on the computer instead of needing to load files on to a SD card or the wizard. The whole application can be found here:

The link to the file is at the bottom of the page in the last blog. You will need to have Active Sync 4.1 for this phone and it will have to be working for this application to work.

i have an imate kjam & i was wondering...
what would be the best rom image for it? should i keep it on the imate rom or is there a better rom with better features for my kjam?

Problem with key maaping

Hi all,
I am not sure how my KJam was originally, however now ( after a hard reset and install of new ROM) the main keys seem to be mapped correctly, however the symboles are not, so the # is actualy reached by pressing - sybol key+F and so on, has anyone else seen this or has a solution.
The ROM is Molski's latest.

Settings\Connections\USB to PC reg key affected ?

Hi guys!
I cannot enter the menu Settings\Connections\USB to PC , it simple do nothing. (i think it stop working after trying a SD to DISKMODE soft)
Can someone tell me what registry keys it use and modify ?
The only way to make it working again is a HARDRESET but i got too much software already instaled and backups carry the error that dont let me enter the menu.

Give the following a try. Dunno if it will be sufficient or working at all. (Make a backup before doing so).
Hope others will also post their findings.

Mine stopped opening a couple of days back. I wonder if we both carried out some identical activity that can be pinned down (not the above you suggested - does not apply to me). I had to hard reset 3 days ago and over past two days I've been reinstalling apps along with SKtools new app for me. Also been having problems not experienced before with Active sync wanting to set up new relationship on virtually every connection.
Anyway you try Menneisyys suggestion and I'll await your results. If evrything goes kaput I'll know not to bother.

make it work again! It was set to "`USB" only

it stop working again... this time I cannot make it work again and I cant pinpoint where is the trouble.

i read all the forums and didnt find the answer i look..
so please help
i did nothing wrong with the phone... i put it to charge and now its stuck at the bootloader (i think), the screen where it shows the radio version etc...
how can i start it again, or how can i "reinstall" windows

i dont know whats happening !!!!!!!!!!!!
but i tried EVERYTHING and still stucks at bootloader screen!!!
the thing is ... that this method does not work "1) Use two fingers to simultaneously press the RECORD and CAMERA buttons of the phone (on the phone's left side). Whilst these two buttons are depressed, use the stylus to click the soft-reset button underneath the phone - keep the two buttons depressed until the boot loader screen appears.
2) This should enable three options on the boot screen. These options allows a YES/NO response. Use the RECORD and CAMERA buttons to navigate between the options, and switch the YES/NO values. Set the following:
1] Enable KITL: NO (this is a debug tracing option which isn't required, except possibly for developers)
2] Format Registry Hive: YES (clears the registry)
3] Format Storage: YES (formats the internal memory: "\" directory, and under "\RamDisk\". Items under any storage card "\Storage Card\" are not formatted).
i can make a YES or NO at KTL but i cant scroll down with those keys to enable option 2 and 3
any ideas?
3) Once these options are set, press the MAIL button (in between today and the Pocket IE button) to confirm these options, and continue with the Registry and Storage format.
4) The device performs the reset, and the Windows CE setup screens (ie. screen alignment etc.) appear. Continue as per a new install.

Not installing cabs (+ Q about locking)

Hiya
Just got my htc touch hd, installed a few cabs (Fennec, skyfire and what not), however when I now click on other cab files i have put onto my storage card, they will not install. The green highlight bar just flashes when i click it and the "Up" and "menu" at the bottom flash and disappear. I have tried double clicks, single clicks - the whole lot! Does anyone know why it is doing this and how it can be resolved please - without a hard reset lol.
Furthermore, my end key does not lock the device when I hold it, despite the settings saying it should. I have downloaded pocketsheild so hopefully wil;l; that fix it in a way? However I cannot install it!!!!!
All help appretiated, have searched but not much luck

soft reset fixed it! any ideas about lock?
