I'm having trouble getting grps to work, here's my operator config info:
Manuelt oppsett av GPRS: (Netcom-dekning)
1. Startside: http://wap.chess.no/
2. Tilkoplingstype: kontinuerlig
3. Tilkoplingssikkerhet: av
4. Databærer: GPRS
5. GPRS-tilkobling: Ved behov
6. GPRS-tilgangspunkt/APN: wap.netcom.no
7. IP adresse: 010.254.254.010
8. Godkjenningstype: normal
9. Brukernavn: wap
10.Passord: netcom
And I get the notorious answering modem error. This is all with the newest i-mate rom.
Any thoughts?

All these settings work for me, hope it dows for you too.

Globe Philippines MMS settings for PPC 2003
ZeroExtreme seems to know a lot about this.
I upgraded my XDA II to the new Asian Edition that was posted here and the MMS configuration is different from the old version. The connection is still the same but the MMS composer software is different and I cannot get it to work.
I guessed that the port should 10021 but I cannot get it to work.
Has anyone experienced getting MMS to work on the new Asian Edition software for Globe Telecom Philippines?

Use the AutoConfig program in the Xda II, it should set all your connections (Internet, GPRS/WAP and MMS)
Globe Philippines MMS settings for PPC 2003
I tried that when I first upgraded and it severely corrupted the MMS options. The servers had no names and couldn'tbe editted either. It didn't work either so I did a reload of 2003 and told it not to autoconfigure.
ThE auto configure I'd tried to use was at the option that comes up after a hard reset. Is there another way that works?
Thanks...
What ROM version are you using? SE or the 1.72 from UK that was customized for Asia?
Globe Philippines MMS settings for PPC 2003
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure which flavour's what now, had tried various updates and this one seems stable..
Details are:
ROM Version: 2.06.00WWE
ROM Date: 06/14/04
Radio Version: 1.18
Protocol Version: 1337.38
ExtROM Version: 2.06.100a
Does that tell you anything?

I immediately posted version 2 of the customized ROM, since the extended ROM of the first one is based on the non-SE OS.
Look for the version 2 of the customized extended ROM for SE, the autoconfig here correctly configures the MMS with the new MMS messaging application.
CUstomised Extended Rom
Thnx Zero, can I just load the extended ROM or do I need to do a complete reload of everything?

Help with O2 Xda II Configuration for Globe Telecom Philippines
Good day.
I have followed the instrutions given on the forum about configuring my O2 XDA II's MMS and GPRS for globe but until now i have not been able to access the wap site.
I have gotten my phone from a friend who has not been using it full potential. but when i tried to use its iexplorer it could not connect to the wap site. I have gone to the globe offices here in the south but still they are unable to help me get connected.
please help me. would i still need to reformat my pocket pc and reinstall a new os for this to work?
Where can I get an idiots guide to connecting my exec to my laptop and using it as a modem to connect to 02 via 3g or GPRS and either by the USB port or by a bluetooth connection.
Thanks!
It's AWESOMELY simple, and works so well that I'm considering ditching my adsl:
1- On PPC fire up modem proggie and press start
2- Now unplug and plug back into USB of PC
3- PC recognises new device
4- On PC, initiate your dial-up connection that dials *99#
The first time you do this, there are some extra steps:
2a- before step 3 i THINK you need to guide PC to the modem driver you downloaded from clubimate of CD
3b- First time you need to create the dial-up connection.
For both of the above new steps, there is a guide on clubimate "using your imate as a USB modem" or something like that. Once you've got it working once, the repeat process is SO simple. Just remember to start the modem on your PPC, THEN unplug and plug in the USB connector. Reason is that your PC sees an iMate when not in modem mode, but it sees a modem when in modem mode. You have to tell your PC to re-look and re-recognise.
A side step; you may want to tell activesync to ignore the USB port. It's not actually necessary, but if u don't do it when u unplug and replug then AS jumps up and connects. SO what.
Great! Thanks for the prompt response. I will try this when I get home from work.
Do i then need to setup a dial up connection and if so what phone number do I use for 02 3G and what settings or is there a download that will do this automatically for me?
Cheers,
Roger
Doh! As I have an o2 exec and not an imate jasjar i cant use clubimate site for downloads etc is there an alternative?
trying to attach - but big file
number is always *99#
OK my PC recognises my 02 exec as a modem when I plug it in. I set up a new dial up connection with the phone number as *99# and left password and username blank.
When I access a webpage via this connection it says dialling... for a bout 2 mins then syas Unable to establish a connection. What am I doing wrong?
Not able to open the above instructions - so it might say leave username blank etc.. as its already in the xda
But could try setting pc connection to read
( for 02 sim)
Username: mobileweb
Password: password
thats how I used my 7600 to connect
For O2 UK -
Install USB modem driver from CD.
Setup a standard DUN connection using HTC modem installed.
Username: web (can be anything but not blank)
Password: web (can be anything but not blank)
Dial up number: *99#
In Progs > Wireless Modem > Tools > set APN as: mobile.o2.co.uk
Thankyou!
That final reply sorted out the last thing that i needed to setup. It is working well now.
Thanks to all who responded.
just a warning - obviously once using as a modem on a laptop , its easy to get thro' more usage ( which can be expensive if you don't have a high/ unlimited tariff)
I have successfully connected with the Qtek 9100 AKU2 ROM (the latest stable ROM for HTC Wizard) to Cingular via Bluetooth and Mac OS X 10.4.6. Instructions:
1. Pair OSX and the phone. You might need to check the "any device" checkbox on OSX's pairing utility.
2. Verify to OSX that you do want to use that device as a modem (if you don't get that dialog, then you will need to create the Bluetooth connection yourself -- message me or leave a comment if you need instructions and I will reply to you).
3. RENAME the attached iPAQ-GSM.txt to plain iPAQ-GSM (remove the .txt extention using the Finder 'Get Info' dialog). Copy the file "iPaq-GSM" to your /Library/Modem Scripts/ folder. I modified the original script that was floating on the internet for a year now in order to work with Cingular (the original script wouldn't get a carrier signal with my phone -- it needed some small initialization changes).
4. Go to your System Preferences/Network/Bluetooth/. There enter the following:
Service Provider: Cingular
Account Name: [email protected] (case sensitive)
Password: CINGULAR1 (case sensitive)
Tel number: *99# (the *99***1# number that does work with other phones doesn't work with the HTC Wizard)
On PPP options uncheck "tcp header compression".
On the Modem tab uncheck both "enable error correction" and "wait for dial tone". From the modem drop-down menu select the iPaq-GSM modem script.
Then, click Apply and then open the "Internet Connect" application and select Bluetooth from there. Click "Connect" and you should now be connected on the net via Cingular GPRS/EDGE.
Alternatively, you can create a new networking bluetooth connection instead of using the generic bluetooth networking pref panel, but that involves a bit more work -- although I personally prefer it as I have over 8 phones and I need different networking connection names and settings for each, instead of using the default "Bluetooth" one. If you are on the same boat, IM me or leave a comment for more instructions.
Thanks
dude you just made my day. It works perfectly. Thank God for people smarter then me.
Unfortunately, in my AKU2 QTek ROM, the PPP server dies right after I disconnect from the Mac. I have to reboot the PocketPC before I can reconnect my Mac to GPRS.
If anyone knows more, please download the script above and tell us if there is a way to fix this.

hey guys,
just wondering if you've been able to sync your MDA(Wizard) to your mac. and if so, how? also, any luck updating ROMS without a PC?
whalien
I have search everywhere for this, I never post questions cause I can usually find the answer, I have checked throughout XDA and google and check multiple forums. I have been reading on how to create a cab file I just don't have the time right now to sit down and work on it for hours. Walshieau has a site going for Provxml and Xml Config Loader but he hasn't got to North America. If anybody has a cab or is skilled at making one the settings are minimal, I have included them.
If you can help many thanks.
