Is it possible to return incidentally deleted files on my SD Card (@MDA Compact) without card reader? Any PPC soft for this, any bright ideas?? :?:
ThanX
I believe it is possible
First install Card Export II on your PPC, it will make your SD act like a mass storage... it works really good
http://www.softick.com/pocket-pc/cardexport2/
or you can try this free (alpha) program
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/usbmassstoragedriver.shtml
or here http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/usbmassstoragedriver.shtml
I have not tried it.... but you can give it a shot
Second.... Install any software that recovers deleted files on your PC.... lets say File-Rescue Plus
http://www.softwareshelf.co.uk/files/products.asp?type=cat&ID=11
or Tune-Up http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/
then try to recover deleted files...
Very Important.... to recover files successfully, you should do the Recover operation after files are deleted, and you should not write anything new to your card until you get the files recovered... this is because new files are being written to the same place your old filed were written to, and thus, you won't be able to recover them in case you added anything new!
let us now the results
cheers mate

Thanx a lot, I solve the problem with CardExport + TuneUp combination! USBMSC-Alpha doesn't work.
Why there isn't any programmer to write a PPC software to to undeletle directly? It would be nice without even need to go to a desktop to do it.
you are welcome

Hello?? Please, can someone help me......not even if someone tells me that it cannot be done.....
Someone???
Do you have your SIM contacts on the HTC or your PC?. If you use Outlook for example you will find that the first activsync session you did the SIM contacts were transerred to your PC contacts (at least that is what happened with me). If they are there then a new activsync session should get them back on the HTC and you can then use SIM Manager to transfer them back onto the SIM.
If you have no copies anywhere then you need some data recovery software. I do not know if there is any recovery software that works on internal memory rather than hard discs - you could try googling to see.
I have noticed that when I flash the blackstone I lose all my messages...so I supposed they're saved on the phone itself. Is there a way to make the blackstone save them on the SIM or on the MicroSD card??
Did you use PIMbackup?

what?
Sorry for the confusion caused by typo error. I was asking if you had use PIMBackup to back up before flashing a new ROM, and restore it after the flashing?
no...isn't there another way like forcing the cell phone to save the messages on the microSD? Whare I can retrieve PIMBackup anyway?
Hi Guys, just bought meself a new 16gb micro sd card.
How can I transfer or make an image of the old card to the new one? I have many installed applications on my old card, I don't want to go through the daunting process of having to reinstall every single application.
Any help would be appreciated.
Copy the contents of the old card to your computer, then write them back to the new card.
Everything should work just the way it did before.
as above, just copy everything to the new card, , , just make sure you have hidden and system files visible before you copy/paste them.

Although you can transfer an image from one card to another its really not recommended for the stable running of the device especially after a ROM flash.

Moving your stuff from one card to another has absolutely no influence on how the device runs. Unless the new card is defective, of course
Thanks guys, am abroad at the moment. The moment I get home, I'll try as you suggested.
Thanks again

That's just wrong!
You may get away with it but all settings and associations will be for the previous ROM and could be totally inappropriate!
WTF, we are on about moving stuff from one card to another.
Nothing to do with ROMs!
Your storage card is only for storage - ie it does not matter if you copy your files from (lets say) a smaller SD to a bigger one.
possible complications: having programs installed on the sd card.... here you could get error messages when you take the card out for the copy process. Nevermind them though as you take the card out, do your copying and then shove the new card back in....
after that just do a safety reboot and you should be fine

Then you obviously didn't read what the thread was about.. The guy just has a new card and wants to copy the contents of the old one to it. Nothing about ROMs, settings etc...
Put my old card into the comp, copied everything, pasted into a folder on the desktop then dropped it all onto my new card, put it back in the phone, turned it on and everything works fine

The OP mentioned installed apps on a mem card and excuse me but that DOES have something to do with ROMs.
Now you are wrong!
And before this goes any further you all believe what you want and do what you want because there's none so blind as those who will not see.
I shall not be posting further after those sort of comments, hollinshea!

No! A storage card is just that, a disk with a filesystem and files on it. If you copy the same files onto another card, there's no way the system can even see anything has changed, apps or no apps. It's not about deleting/adding stuff, just having exactly the same data.
We don't "believe" anything - it's just how it is.

i used spb back up on win 6.5 & i have the file backup but now on the new rom i cant access to my sd card & i cant use that file to backup my contacts any solution ?
If your contacts were on your SD card prior to installing WP7 and the SD card was in your device when you flashed WP7 then sorry to tell you that WP7 formats your card and all previous info is likely lost for good.
Okey no problem can i return to win 6.5 ? & i have another problem i cant unlock my phone with chevron ! he give me all the time the same error USB CABLE ZUNE
