how to setup a bluetooth network between my pc & ppc?? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

hi guys,
i want to setup a network between my computer and my pocket pc I-mate Jam
i have bluesoliel bluetooth driver & a bluetooth device in my computer
but i don't know how to share my computer files using resco explorer
and i want to know how can i use this network in streming video to my pc
can anyone help please :?: :?: :?:

this is a very good idea. if posssible then one can share files to and from the phone. i havent really tried this ever but i am pretty sure that you have to install some com ports.
the way magicians rom is made does not really allow this, thats what i could figure out, but there must be a tweak or rom hack that allows direct file transfer . is you look closely this action is allowed to a certain leve when using infra red but no to the full.
lets see if we get a reply from one of our wiz ppl about this.

Is it possible to use my PDA as a bluetooth dongle?

Hi there....
Is it possible to use my XDA II as a bluetooth dongle?
I have I-mate Phone Edition and I want to use the Bluetooth in my Pocket PC for my PC to send files throw it.
I have a program in my PPC that change my PPC to Flash Memory when cable is connected to it... then a hard drive shown in My Computer.
Any how,
I wonder if there is a program for PC to identify the MS bluetooth in PPC?
sorry for the bad language!
Bye
Highly unlikely..
Infact; nigh on impossible..
There are many program that can control the PPC via bluetooth or cable. and they called remote. from them we can use the PPC bluetooth.
Microsoft should add this function in Activesync for easy to use the bluetooth in PPC! For that we don't need to buy a bluetooth dongle!
any way... thanks to all
Ask
What software do you used so PC read your PPC as flash card?
It is called "Softick Card Export II". it is amazing program... and you don't need to install Active Sync in your PC... you will be shocked when you see how fast transferring files!
Download this program and see if it is work with your PPC:

How to send *.cab files from PC to 8125 via BT?

The subject tells it all.
I've been looking for answers on many threads. I've asked questions on them for about a week or two... Still no answers...
So, I decided to create new thread.
The question is: how do you send *.cab (or other) files to the Cingular 8125 via Bluetooth?
I have Bluesoleil USB BT dongle and I can't install Activesync on my work computer. When I pair my phone with the PC and refresh services, all I get is BT modem and "Bluetooth Object Push." When I send the file via BT object push the PC will start sending it and then it'll give a disconnected message. Sometimes it sends the whole file with no warnings saying that the file has been sent succesfully, however it is nowhere to be found on the phone. (Searched via Total Commander)
Any suggestions?
How do you send files to your phone?
Doesn't anyone send any files to their phones from PC via BT?
ActiveSync will help
MargaL, not sure this is possible without having ActiveSync on your work computer. I have a BlueTooth USB dongle that I use to sync, but its through the ActiveSync program. From there you can click the Explore button to see a folder for your Mobile Device, then drag and drop away...is there another computer you can use (home?) where you can put activesync instead?

I have Activesync at home but the problem is that I don't really have time to sit on playing with the phone at home... I do it at work ;-) and the problem is that here I have Win 2000 NT and anyways if my boss traces out Active sync here, I think I might have a lot of free time to play with the phone and to look for a new job...
So... maybe there is another way?
Anyways... jorge_culv, thanks for your help...
i send files all the time without activesync. to be clear, i specifically don't use activesync, cause the only way i know in activesync is to explore the device, versus turning on bluetooth on two devices, right clicking any file, and choose "send via bluetooth" or whatever.
make sure your device is discoverable, the pc will find it, and send it
With the Widcomm BT stack everything worked like a charm - just right-click on the file you want to send in the Windows explorer and select "Send to"->"Bluetooth"... All the files went to the "My documents" folder.
A few days ago I installed the Bluesoleil stack that came with my new dongle and I got the same problem! :?
Seems like there is no way to send files via OBEX with the Bluesoleil stack - that software really sucks, Widcomm is so much better...
I tried this on my Mac and was unable to send the file. My Mac reported that the Wizard lacked the necessary services to handle an incoming file. I don't believe that though. Will try with the Wintendo later.
I wonder if this is a BT 2.0 vs. 1.2 issue?

BT 2.0 devices are fully backwards compatible - so that shouldn't matter. It works for me with the same dongle if I use the Widcomm stack instead of Bluesoleil, but I don't want to use Widcomm as it doesn't "cooperate" with my A2DP headset... :?

1 - Bluetooth / 2- Activesync

This is more than one subject just saves me posting twice.
1. Bluetooth - Ok i know how to use bluetooth, but what im asking for is some help to find a program to use that can "explore" other devices, im sure my brother had this on and old pda! I also had a program called Bloover2, made by trifinite.org that attack other phones and suck information off hence Bloover - Bluetooth Hoover. Anyway its a J2ME program that works on my Nokia Series60, i cant find any sort of software anywhere that is any where near close to this sort of programs for O2 XDA MINI S or even any PPC.
2. Activesync - ok when i connect my phone it is connected straight away ( connected by USB ), but it says Revieving Settings or something like that, anyways it stay like that for ages but thats not what is bothering me, the problem i have is, i can download files from the DESKTOP computer onto my Xda Mini using the explore funtion on active sync, but i can download files off the Xda Mini to the DESKTOP it says transfering but does nothing! I have used the search function and used the AND inbetween words and its crap, (sorry to who made it) but i dont find anything relating to the search.
Anyway if anyone canmaybe shed some light on any of these matter i would be grateful
Thanks
i have the same problem.
any ideas?

You can try Smurf. It works with older WM Smartphones but it might work with the Wizard since they both use Microsoft's Bluetooth Stack.

Are you connected directly to the desktop or through a USB Hub?
What OS are you using on your desktop?
Are you using a sofware Firewall and if so, did you enable ActiveSync as an exception?
Have you tried using Bluetooth ActiveSync
i gave up with the usb cable, im using infared for now till i manage to sort it out, that smurf program i found but it didnt work too well. thanks for your help tho

Adding Bluetooth Ports

Hi all.
I have a T-Mobile MDA Compact, which I flashed with a big storage ROM I got from the FTP site (1.13.00 WWE). My device works fine, other than one thing.
I cannot establish an ActiveSync connection using Bluetooth. When I try to set up the connection on my device, when it comes to choosing which port I will use for the connection, there are none to choose from, and I am unable to complete the operation.
I can connect to other devices for file transfer Ok, and I don;t have any problems using a Bluetooth headset.
Does anyone know if there is an entry I can add to the registry to add a port manually, or if there is another way I can add a port?
Thanks.
Bump - can anyone help?
Thanks guys.
First of all pair your PC.
Then go to settings-tab system-Bluetooth settings and make sure you open your autbound COM port by clicking the checkox.
Press the button "start"
Goor luck!
Bruins3 - done what you said, but no joy. It tells me to then pair with my PC, even though it already is. Strangely, I can pair with my Magician from my PC, but not vice versa.
Once the two are paired, when I go to the COM ports tab in Bluetooth settings, I simply cannot add a port of any kind - no ports are listed in the drop-down box for me to select.
Help?

Forget it, Dont sync your magician using Bluetooth.
Its a big waste of time.
Ive spent the last hour trying to get this to work, and it just annoying me.
I have made my Magician sync with my computer over bluetooth before, Using 'Bluesoleil'. It's some sort of stack/ program, and for some reason my Bluesoleil doesent work anymore.
But someone made a thread about it, very detailed, and i cant find it anymore. Try experiment, and id be glad to know if you can get it to work properly.
whitemoo.

Using the MDA/Wizard as abluetooth reciever for my PC

Hello developers and members, I've searched the forum for this but I can't seem to find anything or maybe I'm looking wrong but heres my question.
I have a T-Mobile MDA (Wizard) I have it flashed to the latest T-Mobile ROM, I wanted to know is there a way to use my MDA as a bluetooth reciever for my PC, has anybody done this? is there a hack, app, or something to do this? But first and foremost is this even possible? Thanks in advance for all your responses.
you might want to elaborate on what you mean by "bluetooth receiver" I guess you mean transfer files to the phone from your PC?
BTW welcome to the forums, I see that was your first post
Elaboration

OK I see the confusion, basically a receiver, I want to be able to talk to other bluetooth devices but from my PC thru my MDA.
I want my MDA to act as a medium .
What I want to do is my friend has a Motorola RAZR V3M or sumtin from Sprint and I want to transfer MP3s from my PC to her RAZR but it has only two ways to do it, VIA Bluetooth and by taking out its Micro SD card and inserting it in a reader. unfortunately we don't have either option, but however I have my MDA, I paired the two devices but the MDA saw and paired with the phone and was like "so what" I can't seem to do anything with it. So I figured maybe I can have the MDA act as a transmitter/receiver with my PC and my PC will see it and will allow me to transfer the MP3s VIA Bluetooth to the RAZR. This is a mouthful hopefully you all get the picture.
(MY PC)------[USB]--------(MDA) ~~~~Bluetooth Signal~~~~ (RAZR)
*If not above is a little diagram
Want to if this is possible cuz I would rather not buy anything to facilitate this either, oh BTW I searched Motorola and it seem that there is a Program to do what I want via USB but they don't have the software available on the site for download only on CD that came with the phone and obviously we don't have the CD.
But wanted to know if this is possible so other things too?
***Thank you for the welcome been a member for a month i think but this is my first post and BTW this site is amazing, keep up the good work to all you developers and testers and to whom ever I don't mention, your work has increased the value and use on my MDA and my friend's Wing (T-Mobile's MDA V2)***
ACtually, you should be able to plug the razr in via USB, just like jsut about every other phone that has a usb connection.

Yea I tried that but my PC sees it and doesnt do anything with it, so I'm assuming that you need the Moto CD but again we don't have it, but for the most part my idea isn't just for the RAZR, more of a impromtu Bluetooth transmitter for the PC to use.

you need to install moto phonetools before plug the Razar in your computer, or you can storage the music in your Wizard and the send them to the Razor phone by Bluetooth.
about your questio I'm pretty sure you can use the wizard like a bluetooth modem transiter but I don't konw how to setup the a network
