Calendar - Strange behaviour - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I have the TYTN Sim Free and noticed the following problem..
On the day of an appointment the Today screen showed the time OK but indicated "tomorrow" even though the date was correct in the calendar and the time and date set correctly in the TYTN.
It was my first appointment so maybe that was a problem.
Anyone else experience this.
Also this is my first post so HI to everyone and what a great forum.
Now I must go and look around a s I need to find the best Navigation software / BT combo.

Same thing occurred with me.
I think it has something to do with your
PC systems clock settings?????

As far as I can tell, the XDA syncs to the PC clock everytime you active sync it. My pc clock was set to june 2001 (I don't use it much) and it used to drive me crazy that this was happening till I found out why !!

I know it's a bit late and you've already got round this problem by not syncing your pda time with desktop, but i just thought i might mention that i had the same problem with my SPV E200. Every time i synched with my computer, the time on the E200 would lose 6hrs, was very frustrating for a few days until i realised that my time zones were set to different places on my phone and computer. Computer was set to London GMT as it should be but phone was set to somewhere in USA thus every time i docked with my computer, the time on the phone was set to the correct time as if i were in USA. Just had to change my time zone to the right one and everything fine
Tnx Pal!
I checked and that was IT!
Now it works Like it should )
Keep up the good work!

BlueTooth Icon not there after softreset!

Hi have have a problem with my Bluetooth ICON not being in the task bar (bottom right), I have norrowed it down to be a today plug in called PocketBreeze (One of the best pices of software I have found for the Pocket PC, take a look: http://www.sbsh.net/products/pocketbreeze/)
It does work 100% on a few friends XDA II's but not on mine.. I have done a hard reset and all. A few people are having this problem, I have spoken to the developer and he is trying to find a way to fix this problem... Does any one know what it might be or how to fix it?
This is what I have found:
Basically if the device is booted up with PocketBreeze loaded I do not get a Bluetooth Icon on the bottom right of my screen, If PocketBreeze is disable when loading the OS I do get the Bluetooth Icon loaded. (once the OS has loaded up I can then load PocketBreeze with no problems works 100% with Bluetooth Icon)
Regards
Fudge!
No one has any ideas as to why the Bluetooth Icon would disapeer? could it be some sort of loading order problem or somthing like that? is there a way to try and change this? E.g. if PocketBreeze is loaded before Bluetooth in the registory could I rename PocketBreeze to say ZPocketBreeze so it might load last or somthing like that????
Regards
Fudge!
RE
HI,
FYI, I do not have this problem in using PocketBreeze.
i have b4 , my solution just import the my old REG FILE, may be another expert can point out where is value .
Hi Guys thanks for the reply, I have some friends that have not had this problem and some that have. I have been unable to work out what trigers it to happen as yet...
Has any one found that Reg entry that ttt340 mentioned?
Any help is appreciated!
Regards
Fudge!
Hi there,
I don't use pocket breeze but I have the same problem with PI Today from Deje. When this Today plugin is installed, I loose my Bluetooth icon on the Today screen. I had some support mails from the developer but he couldn't solve it.
Somebody suggested that there were too many in the Todayscreen but removing items there (even in the registry) didn't do the trick.
Teguru from tekguru.co.uk came with a handy sollution:
PocketZenPhone which is freeware. It is a plugin for the Today Screen with phone profiles. You can make a profile with bluetooth on. It works great! You can find the PocketZenPhone here on this forum (it has a thread of 102 pages!)
Wouter
thanks for the reply wouterk, I also got told about the to many things on the today screen but it also did not fix the problem.
Thanks for the sujestion about the extra today plugin that could fix the problem but I might wait and see if any one else has any ideas as every today plugin I add makes my Pocket Breeze smaller and smaller :-(... Never enough room... LOL
Many thanks!
Fudge!
Ok fudgebottom,
You're welcom.
I must say I'm very happy with PocketZenPhone but you're right that the today screen is always too small!

Fix for 8125 and TILT, may also work on HERMES
This is one of the most frustrating things about Windows Mobile. I had the same problem with my 8125, and it just started on my 2 mo. old Tilt. Even though you have a Hermes, this solution may work because it is a WINDOWS MOBILE problem.
I've done major amounts of research on this subject and many people will tell you you need Memmaid (have it), or SKTools to fix this. Neither worked for me on either phone (except Memmaid is great, you should get it). There are also many other tweaker tricks as well, none of which worked for me. Some even suggest a HARD RESET. Don't do it, it isn't needed.
Here's what worked for me.
On the 8125: pull the battery out while powered on. Put the battery back in, and reset the clock. (the battery trick didn't work on the TILT)
On the Tilt: change the clock to visiting time, and accept changes. Change the clock back to home time and accept changes.
After looking at these solutions I think the clock fix would have done the same thing on my 8125.
I can't take credit for either discovery, however, I can't remember where I read them.
I hope this works for you and the others that experience this most frustrating issue.
Calendar reminders not working on HTC Tytn II (Tilt) + WM6.1
Hi,
I had recently updated my HTC Tytn II (Kaiser/Tilt) from Windows Mobile 6 to Windows Mobile 6.1.
It took me a little while to notice that my calendar reminders were not working. My "Task" reminders were working fine.
I did the suggested fix - which was to change the timezone to "Visiting" and back to "Home" - and now I have my calendar reminders working again. Thanks for the suggestion hksuper!
Prembo.
It works on Polaris too. Thanks you guys so much
Thanks
Thanks hksuper .... I just chaged the clock from home to visiting and then back to home and it worked ,,,, Thanks for sharing this info.
Hi,
I'm glad others are finding this tidbit of info useful.
What bothers me is that the solution is only temporary. It seems like it only lasts for a day and then you have to do the time change trick, which you forget to do. I would set a reminder to remind me to change the time zone, but it wouldn't go off to remind me.
I guess my solution is only a half a solution until someone figures out how to make reminders work permanently on Windows Mobile.
IN other news....I have an iPod Touch, sync'd to my Exchange Server, and it NEVER FAILS TO DING WHEN I HAVE A REMINDER SET. Unfortunately, the reminders don't have as many nice options (like snooze, which I find invaluable). So Apple at least gets points for making it work right. Got that MS?
Cheers!
As an interim solution for you hksuper, why don't you set the reminders on your iPod Touch to tell you when you need to reset the clock....
Seriously though I hope we can come up with a solution to an annoying problem... Come on MS, apples ahead of the game, time for you to get there too....
That is a really good thing to know.
Today I experienced the same problem on my Touch Pro 2, with Windows Mobile 6.5. After doing the clock trick, it is working again.
Hope I don't have to do this daily or else I just throw out this f*cking expensive device
I had this issue in Win 5 when I got my m3100.
I have never had the problem in 6.0 pro though and I use the calendar everyday.
Weird
Solution for calendar reminder problem.
Google "The poorhouse pmClean cab." Download the pmClean cab, perform a clean, and do a soft reset. I'm currently on the NRG Phoenix 2 6.5 ROM on my HTC Fuze and it worked remarkably well.

a BIG Thank you, after 4 years, the same fault is still happening.
my device is HTC Touch HD.
Works on XPERIA X1. Thanks.
The fix also works on my HTC HD2 T9193.
I had this problem a long time ago on win mo 5.0. I'm surprised to see the same problem is still with us.

Getting the calender to show more then just today's appointments?

Any one know how? Old HTC Touch used to show the next three - this one only shows today's - am I missing some setting?
Thanks folks!
Hello!
Nobody knows?
Maybe it´s only the German Rom ... ?
I have the same problem ...
There has been a long discussion over at pocketpc.ch about this issue. My german version also only shows appointments up to the next day. Maybe there will be a fix in future firmware updates.

Minimize the clock by moving your finger upwards on the screen.
Now it should show 5 meetings (only the next day though)
Still, it bugs me that it can't show more with a large clock, since it's a lot of empty space there.
As said before, probably a bug.

How cool is that, didn't know you could minimise the clock
My UK model is the same! Another bug I found is when the days event has passed, it still shows as today! For example, a birthday will be a day old, and yet still claim to be today. I have to exit TF3D and restart to update. Anyone else suffer from this?!

Yes, I've seen the same problem. It did it with no other software installed, so evidently a TF3D bug.
If we all take the time to report bugs to HTC then hopefully they'll fix them!
Not that I've had a response back to my reports!
Thanks all for the thoughts. Like i said it works fine on the Touch and I cant believe its that complicated to show the next three appointments whenever they may be......hopefully someone will create a tweak for it.
This problem actually persists even if I turn off TouchFlo, i.e. the original windows 6.1 does also just show today/tomorrow.
Upon entering the Calendar - it actually shows the same. If I recall right, previous versions had a list of coming appointments.
Perhaps the problem is not TouchFlo-related after all?
Yup you're right, previously you could see three upcoming appointments, your next appointments no matter how far in the future they are
Same sentiments here, would be great if the Today screen can show upcoming appointments, regardless of how far future the dates be, not just for today and tomorrow only. My o2zinc has this useful feature.
Hope HTC can do a mini program like the o2 has it in o2plus.
disregard.
That would be useful, be able to see today and future appointments. If we could see 3/4 that would be superb! It would give us a head start to buy a birthday gift.
this is not ideal but can be done using the following.
install second today http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401907
this way you can run the standard windows mobile screen as well as touchflow. but that too will only display 1 appointment, so install calendar plus http://www.mohairsofa.com/Default.aspx/document/6
this is a simple plugin which adds the feaures your looking for, display multiple days of appointments on the today screen.
as for the inability of touchflow, to refresh itself, so that yesterday's apointment does not remain as today. galarm has the ability to fix this bug, by waking up the device everyday at 12a.m. to refresh. as it's a great alarm program http://freewareppc.com/clock/galarm.shtml
although i think that if u try one of the new ROMs all these issues should have been solved.
good luck

Today Screen doesn't refresh

Hello to everybody
I have an annoying problem with my Today screen. When I put an "All Day event" on my calendar. My Today screen shows it. That's ok.
My problem is that the next day. This "All Day event" is still displayed to my Today Screen. Normally at 00:00:00 that Today Screen should be refreshed. But it doesn't do by itself. I have switch off then on the TF3D or a soft reset every morning to refresh it.
Here is my technical info:
TF3D: 1.3.35350.1_1630.38
ROM: 1.14.406.3 (22273) FRE
Date ROM: 10/24/08
Radio: 1.09.25.14
Protocole: 52.49a.25.26U
I went to HTC website and they don't have any hotfix to resolve my problem.
Do you have a hotfix for this ?
Do I have to change ROM ?
Can you help me please ?
Same here. I don't need to have an 'All day' event, even the 2hs events don't disappear from Today's screen (well, sometimes are refreshed, sometimes not).
Also,TF3D gets restarted sometimes when I turn on the screen, it says 'TF3D is being loaded...'. It's a nice interface, but got a few bugs.
Ahh !!! that mean I'm not fool ! I am not the only one to have that problem.
I didn't notice that TF3D reload by itself. But as you said, since my last hard reset, it reload alone sometimes.
Do you think that we are the only two people of that planet having these troubles ? Are our TouchHD broken or what ? Is it weak to think that HTC can change our mobile seeing the garantee ?
This problem is really really annoying to me !
Okay... I found out what was wrong...
It's time problem !
On my pc, the time was set to GMT+1 Rome and on my ppc it was set to GMT+1 Paris
I've set to the same time and desactivated the "Automatic change time setting" in phone settings.
Then a little syncro.
Now everything refresh nicely
I have a similar problem, however more related to syncing. About 2 days ago my blackstone (whie charging via usb) displayed a message that changes have been made to the server and all the data has to be resyncronised. I was offline and not doing anythink related to syncing. After this, all my full day apointments were extended to the day after too.
For example my friend's birthday on 7th of Feb is displayed in the 8th of Feb Agenda too, despite that in the settings the appointment is full day only.
Had the same issue with my wizard before. Seems to be a calendar issue, since my PC outlook shows everything normally. I've tried several hard resets but it didn't work...
Any help?

Very good finding! Thank you!
That should work, but I have an additional problem... the timezone that is set in my PC cannot be replicated in the HD, because it has been created as 'custom time zone'. That was because Argentina decided, without previous notice, to get the clock one hour forward some months ago. Win XP didn't support that time change, so in my company they developed a hot fix that created a new time zone.
But thanks for the clue! I will try to solve this playing a bit with timezones.
