Exec cpu not iddle... - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom General

Hello to all!
I have O2 atom exec with newest rom (20060721B1WWE) from o2 web...
Device hard reseted... clean...
Is it normal, that my exec's CPU load is normally at 50%? Device is not overclocked, CPU is running at 520MHz. It never gets IDDLE... Draining my battery (must recharge every 1-2 days).
I was investigating the reason, installed task manager and found out, that one process (device.exe) is causing that cpu load. This process has 100 threads and is stressing my cpu.
IS IT NORMAL??? What about yours atoms (cpu load when iddle)? Any ideas how to fix it (eg. registry hack...)? Tnx

Battery????

Hey, my S200 shows unusual battery drainage behaviour. it seems like if the battery empties to fast. I have the newest DOPOD rom and some programs like Pocket plus, diary and weather running.
Let me give you an example, If I have just finished charing the device and it displays a battery charge of 100% I unplug it and 1 minute later it goes down by 1% to 99 - an additional minute and the battery meter displays 98. By the end of the day i seem to have a charge of maybe 40% while using the device for maybe 1 hour intensly and the rest just phone standby with maybe 2 calls of 2 min avrg length.
On top i noticed that the left side of the device gets a littel warm when I am using the device extensively or charging it. Is that also normal?
Whats the deal with my device? i dont know a whole lot about pda's. Is that a normal power consumption?
How can I measure if my device performs well in terms of CPU speed because I have the feeling it also runs slow.
Thanks a lot
Similar to my S200. When I tried to use S200 with my old O2 XDA mini's battery, everything is OK. Battery of S200 has problem ???
I am not sure ? anyone has experience ?

Does CPUScaler underclocker save battery life?

I have Battery Status 1.04 beta on my 8125..I set the CPU Scaler to underclock to 112mhz when idle (original is 195mhz). It seems to be doing that, but idle battery life so far doesn't look any better, in fact maybe worse. Is CPUScaler not meant to be used like that?

it does / will / or is supposed to help by slowing down your processor when it isn't actively being used. But 112 seems really low to me. I've heard that some people find their phones won't wake back up when it drops too low (I think 123Mhz is what I've read people use but lower than that caused problems). Personally I set mine to 143 for the min.
If you are running WM6, there just seems to be more power drain. Also depends on what radio you are running (some are better than others) and if you leave WiFI and/or bluetooth turned on all the time.
Also I've read that some apps will cause more power draw due to them running. With BatteryStatus when your phone is idle, does the CPU % go down to 1 - 3%? If so, you should be ok. But if it stays higher, then something is running and that adds to more power draw.
There is also a thread in the Wizard WM6 forum on people finding that playing with the extended rom seems to impact on power draw if you've done a hard reset or similar (they are finding that by going back to an official rom like TMo 2.26 and then reinstalling the custom rom that doesn't have an extended rom the power draw seems to go away).
Hope some of that helps...
Haven't had any missed calls AFAIK, been running it like this for a couple days now. My ROM is Faria's AKU 3.3, which is pretty good might I add.
Idle CPU utilization stays at 1%
The extended ROM theory is interesting, maybe thats whats doing it. My last ROM didn't have anything like that and seemd to have better idle battery life.
If the phone is at idle, what does it matter where it's clocked? When the phone is active, the battery will be drained regardless of clock speed. I have my 8125 set at 192MHz, nd have no problem re-charging the battery.

Flickering screen and CPU bellow 195 MHz - CPU Problem? [Help needed]

Hi,
From some days ago, my S200 started restarting itself sometimes (like once or twice a day)..
I thought it was something to do with the ROM but 3 days ago I woke up and the phone was completely turned off. I tried powering it on with the Power On button but nothing happened.. Tried Soft reseting and hard reseting and nothing.. Removed the battery for 10 minutes and then it powered on but the screen started flickering (horizontally).
Then I saw at BatteryStatus that the CPU speed was jumping from 195 MHz to 91 and 52, randomly (195, 52, 91, 52, 195, 91..).
I searched the net and did found almost nothing, just a forum where they say that 195 Mhz is the normal mode, 91 Mhz big sleep mode and 52 Mhz deep sleep mode.
Even if I overclock it with BatteryStatus, it doesn't maintain the speed, and slows down to 195/91/52.. (Even with speeds below 195 MHz it goes to 195).
Other think I realized yesterday was the battery discharges much faster, and I think when the phone is at Standby Mode keeps discharging the battery as if it was fully On (It never discharged me the battery in one day..).
I plugged it in yesterday night and today morning the phone was charged (green light always on) and I pressed the button to power on the screen, and nothing.. Removed the power cord and the green light kept on. Reinserted the battery (the light gone off) and tried to turn it on, and nothing.. Resets did nothing, it was completely dead. Took the battery off and after one hour put it back, and it powered on and it's working right now (with screen flickering and that CPU changes..).
I think the problem is on the CPU.. Reflashed it yesterday (Aserg 3.3.13 ROM) just to be sure it wasn't from the ROM (although I used that ROM without any problems before).
One more thing I remembered, the WiFi isn't working (from some days ago..). It doesn't turn on most of the time, and when it does, it doesn't detect any network.
Sorry for this long post, any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance
when the cpu clock gets down, it could be the cpuscaler feature of batterystatus. disable it or adjust it!
my prophet's screen also flickers if i set the cpu speed below 169mhz. so i made this as the minimal clock of cpuscaler.
disable the cpu scaler and set stepwise locker clocks than 195mhz. then test each step for screen flickering. lowest cpu lock where the flickering doesn't happen, should be you lowest cpu scaler value.
CpuScaler is disabled.. Even if enabled and I set the Min. to 195 for example, it doesn't "fix" and slows down. It's like the CPU doesn't respond to BatteryStatus..
(Yesterday before reflashing I tried uninstalling BatteryStatus but it was the same..)
By the way, it flickers when booting too, on Qtek screen, but it doesn't flick when connected to the pc (and the cpu speed keeps constant.. 195 MHz). If I overclock it keeps the same speed too! If I remove the cable, it slows down immediately to 195 and start flickering
I'm starting to think the problem is the battery.. I hope it is, instead of the CPU
But it's only when connected to the PC, I tried it connected to the wall charger but it does flick and doesn't fix the CPU clock...
Battery now goes from 100% to 10% in 7 hours in standby
I will try with another battery tomorrow to check if the problem persists..
I've tried another battery and I do have the same problems..
Now it doesn't detect usb connection (wall charger or pc charge or sync)
What the hell is happening with it?
You updated new rom or reset machine try again !
It's charging now.. :S So weird..
I'll let it charge and then I'll change the rom..
Update:
Flashed with "ruu_prophet_220734_2207114_026121_qtek_wwe_ship" but the same problems occur..
The cpu still have the same problem.. (195 MHz, 91, 52...)
Anyone with the same problem?
but you know this becouse you intalled batterystatus plug in, if not correctly configured, it is the same. right?
good luck!
I guess your device is permanently damaged, I hope you're elligible to warranty..
One last thing you'd want to try, keep your device open (at least battery & sim off) & shutdown for at least a week, then...... try again
I guess it is permanently damaged too. I'll try to sell it to spare parts.. Thanks

Why does Xcpuscalar eat ~40% cpu at idle?

Hi All,
I've seen a similar post regarding this issue but no answer as to why Xcpuscalar eats approx 40% constantly when the device is left idle. When first starting Xcpuscalar all appears to be ok. Then after about 30-60 seconds the cpu usage of Xcpuscalar shoots up to about 40% and stays there. You can see this either using the health meters page, the task bar CPU meter or any other tool such as task manager/Supertasks.
Never saw this issue on my Xda II. Does anyone else see this? Is it normal? I don't want to use this application if it is going to constantly eat my battery because of cpu usage it uses.
Cheers,
Richard.
What version of Xcpu are you using?
Try out the latest!
Underclock to improve battery life
This is purely in theory, but I was wondering if underclocking the cpu would allow for a little more battery time, like say setting it to 416mhz. Any thoughts anyone?
Try task manager and you will know which process eats cpu usage while you running xcpuscalar, may be xcpuscalar itself consumes cpu usage.
Then when you find which process uses more usage kill that process if it is not necessary or you can find why it eats lot of usage.

[Q] [JUL 24] cpu settings cynogenmod 7.1

Hi!
I actually found the settings to change the cpu frequency today the warning I was given when i pressed " Performance " have scared me of, but not anymore.
So I was wondering, what are the best settings in your opinion, about the settings, for the Hd2 only. For heavy use, medium ( just listening to music , from-to-work) and for preserving the battery as long as possible.
And I would also like some help with the combinations of the different types of governors with the min/max cpu settings.
I know what RJackson wrote about the different governors
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843406
Thanks!
first thing first - congrats for overcoming your fears!
for daily use I have the on demand governor with 245-998 Mhz. I find it to be the best because you can get the performance when you need it and yet the CPU can "calm down" at times you don't run the heavy apps, thing that also saves you some battery
settings
I use the same as above. on demand gov. also.
thanks for your replies =)
Any information about how long the battery last for you guys?
(my battery is 4201mV @ 100%)
I use the setting as I posted above, I unplugged my phone about 17 hours ago made a few calls and texts, gmail and viber are updating every 15 mins via wifi. still got 73% of juice left (I have the stock battery, don't know about V, mA capacity)
