good news to UK XDA II users. I have just purchased Microsoft Voice Command from www.handango.com/uk
I don't get this: I'm from the UK, as my profile on handango says, but I was able to buy Voice Command from handango.com as soon as it came out. I must have got in early and flew under the radar I guess.

I'm getting my X1 on thuesday and wondering if Microsoft Voice command will work on the X1 I got the US 1.6 version of the app and I live in Sweden

1) can i pre download google maps? eg if i am going to thailand, is there a way to d/l the map first? accessing internet while roaming is expensive!
2) can i set so that prior to the sms being sent out, i get a confirmation box?
sometimes i accidentally touch the send portion and out it goes..
anyone? please...
I haven't found a way to preload maps for google. The only way i suppose is to hook up to your house internet, scroll and pan the maps on your desired zoom level painstakingly. note, different zoom level count as different maps.
i dont liek the idea of d/l on demand.. prefer things like d/l first.. aka nokia maps.. can we BUY nokia maps for wm6?
or is there any good program i can BUY? i dont think there is any good freeware for such..
i need maps in southeast asia... singapore / malaysia / thailand

i called using google voice (its free ) or skype also (toll free)
Call the US Customer care and ask for an activation
i called three times or something. because one time the guy said that you need to contact your region's customer service. Other time she thort that i wanted to activate my pc or something and asked for my product key
Last time got it correctly had to wait for like 5minutes to get the code

I got mine activated. Used Yahoo Messenger to call up US Microsoft Support (Toll Free)
Note that before you activate make sure that your Windows Live ID is an US one. There is no Marketplace or XBL support for India yet!

I activated my phone. But couldn't download any apps from marketplace. It always says, Couldn't do this now. Try again a little later.

Go to settings. Change the region & language settings in your phone to united states. That is where the market is located.
Now try it

i called microsoft US (18009365700)(use skype)
find some location in cannada (use google map)
tell your india mobile number
they will give your activation code .(tell phone HTC HD7 and email (live acount)).
only problem is to understand their english ... shooo .. i made it with crap english.
is there any way of using google voice in the uk on the sg2 to say call my sister in california or is this not possible yet in the uk cheers for any info

Search the internet...i once stumble upon a website on how to enable google voice outside US to call someone in the US..as i dont really have anyone to call in the US, i did not really pay attention..just by glancing thru..the site gives step by step direction from setting up an account right to the last step of making and recieving calls.

Yes. Get voip working.on your phone.
Get free short term fake USA telephone number voip from your sip provider, and forward it to your phone.
Search internet for the paypal test credit card numbers, pick say amex one.
Go to google voice website through anonymous proxy server based in USA.
register using an email that you aren't already using in uk gmail.
Done.
Phew.
I made some posts about my experience trying to get voip forwarding to work. (following a guide in this forum).
But it does. I used pbxes.org as sip provider.
