aright previously my LCD screen was cracked well i got the replacement LCD screen and it works fine. BUT my problem now is that its just displaying a white screen. Nothing else. I take off the battery put it back on turn the phone on and i get a white screen no letters no nothing.
Does this mean my phone is a brick?
i still get response when i hold down the comm button it vibrates. The volume slider responds with the volume going up and down. and when i try to hard reset via holding the comm button, voicebutton, camera button and hitting the soft reset button it responds to it and resets the phone apparantly.
So i know for a fact the actual phone works..but its not displaying anything but a white screen...is there anything else i can do ?
If you have replaced the screen yourself, it may be worth trying to re-fit it again. Make sure the connectors are in pefectly, and make sure there is no dirt on them. If the pda still responds to button presses, it's fine, it's only the srcreen that's damaged/non-functional...
To see if this is the case, try tapping on the very to left of the screen, and see if you get the start menu pop. If you don't it's prolly the connector not plugged in properly, if you do, then the connector may be damaged...
ok im trying now..but how could it be the screen if the screen is giving me a perfectly white screen and its been tested to be working correctly?
sweeet i reconnected everything and it worked thanks for the recommendation dood much appreciated

Nice to see that my reccomendation worked for you. I've never replaced a colour LCD screen before, but some of the B&W ones i've replaced have had similar faults. It's the same with old cartridge games if you think about it, you used to have to blow on them ocasionally...
Modern technology may be perfect in every respect, but the manufacturing methods arn't.

I got the mda vario from tmobile uk. I dont know what happen. Different colour blue, red, white vertical lines that start from up to down. If I connect the device to the computer or to the charger the orange light is on. PLease HELP ME!!!
Sounds like a graphics hardware problem to me - but worth trying a hard reset first - turn device off, hold comm and record buttons at the same time, turn device on still holding buttons - text should appear on screen, press green (call) button and hard reset should begin. Make sure you have backed up any important data before you do this.
im having this problem too, but my lines turn black and only effect half the screen. It starts with the screen going fuzzy.
I've had this happen when the phone was charging and it caused temporary screen burn because i recieved a text.
I try hard reset but nothing. It changes a lot of colours...
Sounds like a graphics hardware problem means that there is no hope?
Thanks anyway!!!

Isnt it under warranty? If it is get it repaired - if not maybe a loose connector inside, could be worth a dis-assemble and push all the connectors tight. Or if your not up to that take it to someone that is.
Unfortunately I dont have any warranty!!!
I find the disassembling manual but do you know where can I find the screws and other staff in the uk? Do you have any idea?
Otherwise I live in York Uk, do you know any place near here?
This place does pda repairs http://www.gpsmidlands.co.uk./

Screen went white & buttons didn't work.. took to get phone fixed... and...now buttons work but the screen has a weird yellow tint
what is the problem, and how to fix
bump. anyone?
Can you say a bit more about it. How strong is this yellow tint. Can you upload a picture.
It's difficult to know if this is caused by a new screen that has a faint yellow tinge or whether it's a definite fault.
Mike
My phone started getting the white screen issue, the buttons stopped working.
When I'd turn the display on, it would be all white, id have to press it a few times then it would be ok, the buttons seized to function.
I took it to get fixed, the buttons now fully work, but the screen has a weird yellow tint all over. It didn't have it before. I was mad at the repair shop, the guy told me that its the LCD screen connector cable or whatever... but I don't believe him, as he doesn't seem to know wtf he is saying..
please help
Mine started doing this recently. Screen fades to white and nothing works but I can still hear if I'm on the phone. For me, turning it off and back on resolves the issue (I can see the display again). I suppose some aren't so lucky..
More than likely the LCD connector cable has a problem. Why he didn't fix it, I have no idea. If you feel up to taking it apart, you may be able to push the connector in further, OR you could buy a new screen. Then again...
Hi there
I have rebuilt many hermes with the same problems. I researched the issues on here and elsewhere - Its nearly always related to the entire Dpad/cable/connections . I have repaired nearly all of these quite simply by dismantling them and adjusting/cleaning and reassembling them - things move and get out of contact etc and this is what happens with these - get a torx driver and have a go - after a few tries you will usually solve the problem
Happy to assist anybody who would like a hand
Kind regards
John
Hey all
So i have replaced LG and iphone screens many times before. Never a HTC. I have replaced the glass and everything(reheated the adhesive that was previous there) and put it back together. The screen is a bit loose but shouldn't fall out as i didn't damage much of the glue. I was thinking wow this was a piece of cake!
BUT.. The front buttons(Home, Options, back, and search) appear to be stuck down(i think). When you try to press them they feel just solid and not a button. I can sometimes get the home button to press like a button but its definitely broke as can be.
Also when i boot up it appears the phone is stuck in a white screen showing some options...cant remember excatly what but i know it tells you to use volume buttons to move and the power button to select(assumed bootloader). I have no movement when i try any button combo. Also it seems when i stick the battery in and boot it goes straight into that no matter what i do.
Any help would be great! I really need it as its the GF's phone and she gets back in 3 hours
I think what is happening to the bottom buttons is that the glass is just a hair to large. Like a micron off causing the buttons to be bust down to the base(towards the mic). Not sure how to fix it except sending it back for a new one....Anyone have this issue? i got it from repair universe.
So this was my first breakdown of a phone...my brother gave me an HD2 with a non-responsive digitizer, everything else seemed to work just fine.
I disassembled it, accidently tearing the flex cable after it gets thin and goes to the volume buttons. Anyway...I replaced the digitizer...thinking I could just modify the volume via software controls, and stupid me had previously set the hd2 to boot into magicdlr always when the phone turned on. So when I turned on the phone I couldn't do anything because it would boot into magicdlr and I had no volume buttons to scroll up and down, and the option selected was boot into windows which was not on the phone (only cm7 was at this time).
Anyway...after getting a replacement flex cable, and reassembling everything, I couldn't get the lcd to work. Backlight would light up, but no picture, no sound, just a vibrate and the backlight turning on. I tore it down, triple checked all the connections, and still the same thing
So I tried a seperate lcd assembly, tripled checked all connections, and still same issue as the above paragraph, backlight but nothing else when I try to power on. I also retried the old flex cable (the one without the volume connector) and that didn't make a difference either.
My only guess is that I messed up the lcd connector on the mainboard, even though it doesn't look visibly damaged in anyway. Does anybody have any other ideas/suggestions?? I would love to get this up and running as its been my first smartphone project...I've done lots of works on desktops and laptops but never smartphones.

This is my suspicion too!Even not visible at first sight, try again with a magnifier!
Good luck!
i have a S6 Edge+ and its got a cracked screen. it has a big black spot the size of a fingertip on the right middle like something stabbed it maybe.
sometimes when i got to wake it up, phone is on and i press the power button the lights on the bottom come on, the cascade window button and the back button............but the screen does not light up. it kind of flickers and i see the permanent damaged part, a green strip down the right side of screen but does not turn on.
sometimes i have to press the power button to wake up and put to sleep 6 or 10 times for the screen to light up.
my question:
do you think this is simply from the screen being damaged.
have you seen anything like this before on a phone
do you think if i spend the money to fix the screen this issue will be fixed?

Fixed by Sony, phone is insured.
Yes, take it to Samsung store to repairing.
Ok, I have booted into safe mode and the problem does not exist. this means its a sofware issue, obviously. Here is the dilemma, I have done factory and hard resets to include the cache partition. How might i go about fixing this issue until they release a new update from android 5.1.1???
Can anybody tell me what core we use to put the touchwiz snappier, I saw one one topic but I can't find it now. We only have to put the code and the phone was so quick like the day we Unbox the phone. Thanks
