Hi there.
I just got an orange m3100. I tried to send files via bluetooth from my computer but I could not. It said that FTP service not found on the device.
I also tried to send photos, musics from mobile phones (sony, nokia, and moto) but it also failed.
Does anybody have the same problem ?
Have you enabled all beams in your settings>connections>beam?
I've just enabled all beams and it works when sending files from mobiles. Thank you.
However when I tried to send a file from a computer. it still says that FTP service not found on the device.
please help..

Hi there,
I generally leave my Exec sitting on a filing cabinet syncing with bluetooth and charging when required.
To send an SMS I've got to pick the bugger up and do things the conventional way currently. Being either a productivity fiend (or lazy!) has anyone any thoughts on how to get the Microsoft Office 2003 SMS plug in to work with the Exec over bluetooth ? Do I need to have the wireless modem enabled and if so I think I'll give up on that plan.
Anyway to summarise any ideas for methods to send sms using the exec as the trasnmission device over bluetooth through my PC.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
someone round here posted this on how to setup a usb modem, as that sms plugin dosent work when activesync is connected, so it looks like to could be a catch 22, you have sync, or you have sending sms capabilities, im not sure, i havent tried it with the phone in modem mode yet, i got asfar as trying to send a sms and not seeing Univ listed as a modem, then giving up rekoning on this being for a phone that you can only make call and do sms on. sheesh antiques!!!
Code:
1. Disconnect USB Cable.
2. Universal: START/PROGRAMS/Wireless modem
- Set USB as Connection Type
- Tools/Options: Check Use prefered GPRS / Verify APN
- Start the MODEM
3. Connect USB Cable. PC should detect the modem.
- Install drivers from original CD (D:\OEM\APPS\Drivers\USB Modem)
- Start USBModem_Dialer.exe - located in the drivers folder (Fill the UN/PWD, APN...)
- It will create a new dial up connection. Click CONNECT. It will probrably fail but don't worry.
4. Try to connect using the created Dialup Connection
- Reenter UN/PWD.
- CONNECT
Try that, i rekon it'll work as you have to install a modem driver on the pc for it, which is where i rekoned loosing AS was to greater loss.

Hi !!
I have just bought a O2 XDA mini and for some reason it just doesnt recieve data from other devices over bluetooth!
i can send ( i am paired correctly!!) data !! but cant recieve data!! the sending bluetooth device always says send failed ... or recieving bluetooth device ( i.e. my xda) is not responding!!!!
i am really getting
anyways i would realy appreciate some help!
i wonder if its something to do with the damn ports!!!
Same problems here. I have tried with Ipaq2210, SEk700i, Nok6230, Samsung600 all paired up ok but file transfer is never a discovered avilable service.
Sending fails whether initiated on wizard or other devices. I believe it is down to the Microsft bluetooth stack as the Ipaq uses widcomm stack and works with all the above phones.
I'm hoping someone will find a reg hack to improve the functionality.
What with no wifi activesync my recent upgrade from Ipaq and K700 to wizard is leaving me feeling cheated.
Al
go to start>settings>connections>beam, and make sure you tick the "receive all incoming beams" option.
i had this problem before and i couldn't recedive any file through bt, but when i checked this i receive anything now, and it shows the "file transfer" profile when i initiate the pairing from another device.
i hope this works for you guys.
cheers.
Mine is HTC dopod 818.But,when i switch on its wifi,it say unavailable although my wireless router is on and working fine..Any pro can help me??
Beside i also cannot received files via bluetooth from other phone. For example,i try to send files from Nokia N82 to my dopod, but the Nokia N82 said sending failed although i on the bluetooth already.PLEASE HELP ME!!!
hi guys, i've got an issue with my bluetooth in that i can't receive files, i've tried from 2 different computers and a phone with no success. my windows box gives me an obex error code 0x49 if thats any help to anyone. i've got accept transfers ticked and the devices are paired. i can send files from the phone fine so the bluetooth is defiantly working.
Turn beam on.
Receive all incoming beams.
could you clarify a bit? i've got accept all connections turned on and don't see any beam options in the bluetooth app?
In sense settings, go to all settings. (Right softkey).
Open the bluetooth settings and open the 1st tab.
Expand the advanced settings.
Open the file transfer config and click allow "incoming file transfer connections"
I've not tested it though
I reconfigured the comm manager to run this app, called BtManager.exe. More useful than the wizard it normally runs.
i've already done all that, everything is enabled in the bluetooth settings app i just can't receive files, as i said before i can send to devices and connect via a2dp so i don't think it's a hardware issue so there must be a software problem somewhere?

Click to collapse
same here, any one experienced it and solved the problem?
Long time no reply on this thread. I fixed the problem for my HD2. Maybe it help poeple to fix their receive files for their HD2 too.
In bluetooth advanced settings go to file transfer and uncheck safe files on your sd card, instead set the path to your sd card for receiving files. Click finish and test.
Thanks Guido, that worked for me!
Hey folks,
for some reason my HD2 isn't able to send files via bluetooth anymore.
I can receive files from another device but cannot send them.
Anyone facing the same problem?
Solution?
Thanks
Well...
Be mindful of the carrier your trying to send to. If your trying to send to a CDMA friend(especially music files)it may not go through because of the carrier restrictions. Also thoroughly check your bluetooth settings/Beam settings and your authentication system. Also try pairing.
