Problems recieving data over bluetooth!!! PLS HELP!! - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi !!
I have just bought a O2 XDA mini and for some reason it just doesnt recieve data from other devices over bluetooth!
i can send ( i am paired correctly!!) data !! but cant recieve data!! the sending bluetooth device always says send failed ... or recieving bluetooth device ( i.e. my xda) is not responding!!!!
i am really getting
anyways i would realy appreciate some help!
i wonder if its something to do with the damn ports!!!

Same problems here. I have tried with Ipaq2210, SEk700i, Nok6230, Samsung600 all paired up ok but file transfer is never a discovered avilable service.
Sending fails whether initiated on wizard or other devices. I believe it is down to the Microsft bluetooth stack as the Ipaq uses widcomm stack and works with all the above phones.
I'm hoping someone will find a reg hack to improve the functionality.
What with no wifi activesync my recent upgrade from Ipaq and K700 to wizard is leaving me feeling cheated.
Al

go to start>settings>connections>beam, and make sure you tick the "receive all incoming beams" option.
i had this problem before and i couldn't recedive any file through bt, but when i checked this i receive anything now, and it shows the "file transfer" profile when i initiate the pairing from another device.
i hope this works for you guys.
cheers.

i-mate (Widcomm bt stack) and Dial-Up Networking

Hi all!
I have installed the WidComm stack, but since then I cannot use my i-mate as a GPRS Dial-Up Modem. When I select Dial-Up from the Bluetooth devices, after some seconds it pops up a window where I can enter my username, password and the number to be dialed. But when I press Dial, nothing more happens, just a window pops up saying "Dialing *99#..." but then I get an error message "Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem...".
I tried it with and without Hardware flow control etc., with and without AT command +cdgcont=1,"IP","internet",0,0 still no success.
On the other hand my old MS Stack lost its SSA profile somehow, so I cannot connect through that one either anymore.
Since noone is saying anything about this issue, I assume everybody is happy and has it working, am I right?
Any ideas? :?: Please help, I need it badly... :?
Kristof
I have the exact same problem. Have you found the solution?
I think it's caused by the widcomm stack that was extracted from a non phone-edition ppc (which of course cannot be used as a modem). maybe the extracted stack from a hp 6300 works?
Funny thing is I also can't connect via IR.
l did a hard reset & voila, I can use my xda2 as a wireless bluetooth gprs modem again.
Putra,
really ? after a new format u were able to connect using GPRS and USB without any problems ?
I' have the same problem with my i-mate k-jam latest WWE rom...
Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem !!!
And the connection were dropped down...
Maybe could be the SPB GPRS Monitor program ?
I've disabled all possible thing related to ActiveSync and Usb connection , either on pc and my k-jam....
I'm goin' to be crazy !!!
Only one time i was able to connect for up to 2 minute, without any problems... and then, after i've tried again to estabilish a new connection, i won't be able... it sais Error 892.... !!!
Anyone Could Help me ?
Thanks a lot in advance...
Raid.
sorry...
Sorry there, but it was so long ago, I cannot even remember what I did.
I have upgraded to the Prophet since Jan, and no longer using the Xda2... it's now my backup in case something happens to my Prophet.
The Bluetooth connection works fine... but sometimes the modem still "hang" and i got Error 692 or TCP Error 743... it seems that the major problems are caused by the ActiveSync, when i disable the USB connection either on my phone and on my laptop everything goes fine...
With the USB connection....no way at all ! After 2 minutes the connection is terminated.... even if i've disabled ActiveSync USB connection...
Hope this helps....
Alessio.
Nothing to do....
Also using BT stack (Microsoft) after few minutes my wireless modem seems still connected, but i cannot send/receive packets over the internet.
It seems like frozen !!!
And after i've clicked the "Disconnect" through the dialup connection icon on my task bar, my wireless modem doesn't respond anymore... i need to reset my device and sometimes this doesn't works at all, Windows stop responding while i'm trying to open the "Network Connections" panel... after the timeout completed and the dialup is disconnected i can open it again !
What's the problem !?
I'm downloading the new Dell BT stack for my laptop... i'll update you again...
I cannot figure the problem is my device... i can surf with opera beta for WM5 without any problems !!!
I solved the problem....
I've upgraded my MS BT stack with the Dell BT stack new update (Latitude D410).
Everything seems working fine now, i can stay connected above 15 minutes now... in this moment i'm writing throught my EDGE connection
I cannot use the USB modem... after 2 minutes i cannot send/receive packets anymore... i've disabled ActiveSync either on phone and laptop !
Some one could help with the USB and my Wizard?
Thanks.

OBEX Bluetooth problems on XDA-mini-S

Hi, i have an O2 XDA-mini-S Wizard running the "as shipped" ROM (1.5.4.2 WWE)
I find i am unable to send or receive file transfers via bluetooth. i have tried to send/receive with my Ipaq 2210 (win 2003 ROM 1.10.07 Eng) and also a friends Orange branded (orange Uk ROM) M500/Magician.
I have tried using the windows file manager and also Resco explorer.
Any ideas or help?
OK, a small update (and bump)
I got annoyed with all the O2 stuff on my mini-s so did a hard reset and got rid of their junk.
I doubt that has made a difference in itself, but more likely its removed any settings i made whilest playing with my new phone
Wizard-> Ipaq works ok
Ipaq -> Wizard, shows the wizard as an option but is "unable to connect"
Wizard <-> Magician Doesn't even see as an option (for OBEX file transfer, we tested to make sure contacts can be exchanged)
I have exactly the same problem with my Qtek9100. I'm in bad need of being able to transfer contacts between my cellular phones/pda and my wizard. Wizard -> Phone/pda works fine, but the other direction only results in an "unable to connect" message.
Another dilemma is to send files from my computer (with a BT dongle) to the Wizard. My PC doesn't even recognize a file transfer functionality towards the Qtek.
Is there a list of which Bluetooth services that the Wizard offers, and maybe a comparison to other handhelds?
Any comments on this is highly appreciated!

SE -> 614c bluetooth DUN keeps failing

I have a GPRS connection on my old (untrusty ) Sony Ericsson K700i that I want to share using bluetooth DUN. So far I managed to get it work in Windows7, openSuse 11.1 and WM2003 (widcomm stack), but it just won't work on my iPaq 614c.
I did all the logical steps:
-pair the phones over bluetooth
-select the DUN profile of my k700i
-add a new modem connection (in the My ISP section) that dials *99*# over bluetooth to my k700i
No matter what I try, it keeps telling me it can't connect (actualy, it doesn't even make a bluetooth connection to my k700i ).
Obviously, HP bundles the DUN profile with it's iPaqs, nevertheless I installed the dun cab file, but that didn't solve it either.
What to do ? What to do ?

same problem for my 614c trying to reach my Nokia 6630.....
after some googlesearchs, i think some dll are missing, for example i cannot find where to set the modem init string needed for my french orange provider ( at+cgdcont=....)
afaik that modem string can be set somewhere in the registry.
But I don't think that's the problem since I never had to provide that info in windows, linux or wm2003.
perhaps this would help ?

hmm, the file seems to be missing, but the HP6515 seems to be using the widcomm stack so I'm not sure if it's supposed to be there.
I can't install the patch for some reason , seems like my iPaq realy doesn't want to dial in over BT

xda too slow..double posted sorry
Okay, I guess I wasn't clear enough in my previous posts.
I want to share the GPRS connection on my Sony Ericsson K700i and use it on my iPaq 614c, I'll be using Bluetooth DUN for that because the old K700i doesn't support BT PAN.
My Ipaq 614c doesn't suffer from the BT DUN missing problem, the official ROM comes with BT DUN installed (at least, I can see the BT DUN service in the service list of my K700i), so there is no need to patch that specific problem.
When I add a new modem connection, I choose 'bluetooth' (instead of cellulare/3G, GPRS), I select my K700i and use *99*# as the number that has to be dialed).
Now comes the problem: w of my K700i), so there is no need to patch that specific problem.

Now comes the real problem: when I want this modem to make a connection, nothing happens. Windows Mobile doesn't initiate a bluetooth connection towards my K700i, it just shows a message that the connection has failed...
614c to ipaq 210
I am having diffulty pairing my 210 with my 614. I am trying to use my 614c as a modem in order for my 210 to connect to the internet. I can coonect to the internet just fine with my 614, I am with t-mobile/unlimited data plan. Since I am in the USA HP does not offer any support for this device(Big Surprise LOL) I have searched everywhere for a solution. I have tried using the BT Phone Manager, and I have tried to pair them them in the BT manager with the "connect to the internet via cellular phone" profile and my ipaq 210does not recognize the 614 as a "phone", but it does recognize it a "any device". If I select this option and try to pair them using this wizard I cannot get a succefull pairing after entering a passkey. I continually receive the error message that "requested service is not running on this device". Any help would be appreciated.
Thank-you

Hi,
Correct me if I get it wrong, but are you telling us you just start your connection-shortcut like that, expecting WM to turn on your BT ? Or do you activate BT before dialing in ?
In general, if BT is running, anything you throw at it should run.
Dirk
Both with BT on and off it fails .
Doesn't realy matter anymore, the K700i is dying. The network part of the phone crashes from time to time when I use it (calls, sms, gprs, ...) after which the phone shuts itself down.
Probably going to change my main carrier from Mobistar to Mobile Vikings so I have free gprs on my iPaq ^^
iPAQ 614c as Bluetooth Modem with HP iPAQ 210
After several days of searching for an answer on how to use my iPAQ 614c phone as an access point for my iPAQ 210, I hve finally acheived success. I hope this will spare anyone who is trying to do this the countless hours of phone calls that I have made with both HP and T-Mobiles Tech Support. "Tech Support"? I beg to differ. HP 's first answer was "hardware issue" send the device in for repairs. I called back in hopes to get a different rep-I did, he was a little more helpful, after an hour or so of troubleshooting he concluded, The device was fine, what I was trying to do was not supported on all the devices(A nice thing to know, AFTER YOU BUY IT!) T-Mobile, also very nice but just unbelievably clueless, there "Tier 3" rep who after an hour or so of troubleshooting said she would "call me back" never did.
During all phone coversations with both companies I asked numerous times about trying the "BT Phone Manager" that comes on the HP iPAQ 210. The first HP rep said that, "No one really uses this, that it is just extra software that comes with the iPAQ". The 2nd HP guy said, "that was not what that is for, it is used more for if you want to transfer numbers. Like if you want to use your 210 as a phone."(I really don't have IDIOT stamped on my forehead) None of the T-Mobile reps knew what I was talking about.
Why do I share all of this information? Because confession (in this case of my own ignorance) is good for the soul.
Oh, how do you get it to work?
1 Pick up your 210
-Turn Device on
-Turn Bluetooth On
2 Start\Programs\BT Phone Manager
- Press the Connect Button
- Follow all Pairing directions in walk through (It even tells you what to do on your cell phone)
Now, if you are like me, you will want to go into the: Settings\Connections\Bluetooth (Why? Because this is what every manual, every forum, every support rep has always told you to do.) DO NOT DO THIS, it is tempting to want to try to configure your own settings, thought being that you will need them the "next Time" you try to connect to your cell phone. Well, if you mess with the settings, THERE WON'T BE A NEXT TIME! You will end up like me, wasting alot of time, patience and unnecessary hard resets(3 during 1 phone conversation with HP),trying to fix something that worked to begin with!
Hope I helped someone, and if you do not have BT Phone Manager, there are cabs floating around everywhere, I know some people don't like it, but it does work. REALLY.

bluetooth issue

hi guys, i've got an issue with my bluetooth in that i can't receive files, i've tried from 2 different computers and a phone with no success. my windows box gives me an obex error code 0x49 if thats any help to anyone. i've got accept transfers ticked and the devices are paired. i can send files from the phone fine so the bluetooth is defiantly working.
Turn beam on.
Receive all incoming beams.
could you clarify a bit? i've got accept all connections turned on and don't see any beam options in the bluetooth app?
In sense settings, go to all settings. (Right softkey).
Open the bluetooth settings and open the 1st tab.
Expand the advanced settings.
Open the file transfer config and click allow "incoming file transfer connections"
I've not tested it though
I reconfigured the comm manager to run this app, called BtManager.exe. More useful than the wizard it normally runs.
i've already done all that, everything is enabled in the bluetooth settings app i just can't receive files, as i said before i can send to devices and connect via a2dp so i don't think it's a hardware issue so there must be a software problem somewhere?

same here, any one experienced it and solved the problem?
Long time no reply on this thread. I fixed the problem for my HD2. Maybe it help poeple to fix their receive files for their HD2 too.
In bluetooth advanced settings go to file transfer and uncheck safe files on your sd card, instead set the path to your sd card for receiving files. Click finish and test.
Thanks Guido, that worked for me!
