I need a Mainboard! - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi guys! Yesterday I dropped accidentaly my incredible i-mate Jasjar! I really liked it! And now it is dead, it doesn't turns on, it doesn't enter into bootloader, it doesn't soft resets, hard reset, etc. According to the HTC Universal Fault Procedures my Jasjar has a defective Mainboard.
So what I am asking here is if someone has an extra mainboard, or can get me one, I don't care if it is used or new as long as it is fully functional!
And also I need a complete GSM antenna
FRU Main Board part number: 99HAU0XX-02
GSM Antenna part number: 36H00293-00M
Thank you very much!

Use the search, Luke!
I saw a post here yesterday or the day before that was selling a mainboard, and you can usually find those parts on Ebay.
The service manual for fitting them is on the FTP, or, considering how delicate some parts are, you could ask a phone repair shop to do the replacement and you source the parts.
Good luck.

Dear Jedi...
Yes Jedi, I already did and I just found a guy called fluffcat1 that used to sell this type of mainboards, but he doesn't has any for the universal right now. Do you know someone that does???
Thank you!

Killed my MDA II Compact?

Dear Forum Users,
fist of all sorry for the fact that my first post is a request, a question and not a contribution - but im really dependent on your knowledge.
Despite the fact that in general it is not recommended to change the cover of your mda (or xda etc) I did it, and seem to have f***** up my display. The device itself is working just fine, i can do active sync, the taping also works (when i switch it off and guess where the yes button from "do you really want to turn off your device" is it actually shuts down properly). the thing is that i dont see anything, its just plain white.
Image:
http://content.imagesocket.com/images/CIMG4803_Small_805.JPG
when dissecting the unit i disconnected the connector from the display to mainboard in order to unmount everything (unfortunately i discovered afterwards that i could also have done it without connecting - dumb philipp :/ , but right now that doesnt change anything for me)
has someone dealt with a problem like mine before? i would be really thankful for any hints or advices to get my baby back to life, otherwise my old vk2000 will be my companion for the next 6 months (i shiver when i just think of it).
thank you in advance,
Philipp
Have you tried to disassembled, and than reassembled it again?
some times the display flat cable, isnt fuly inside the connector...
there is a possibility that you f*** up the connector, but for determine that we need a macro picture of it.
yes i messed with the connector indeed, but as the pins of the strip were down i thought the black piece wont be of that much importance (i can remember i ****ed one up at a regular mobile yrs ago and it was still working)
can i get that thing back to life if i try to squeeze the 2 black parts (formerly one piece) back in or do you say its over?
thank you for your quick reply btw, i appreciate!
http://content.imagesocket.com/images/conn2d8.png
That is not good. i dont think you can do anything but send it to repair. maybe they can replace the connector.
ok, i will call them and check how much it is and if it is even worth having it repaired... if not, then i have a defective compact for sale :/

Need advice from a trinity hardware guru ....

hi everybody.
some weeks ago i bought a new casing for my trinity on ebay. as I had to open my trinity while on a long trip far away from home and htc tech support (the "hang up" button broke), i had already broken my guarantee. so i decided to change the casing myself. i managed to do that (it was not easy!!) and closed the casing and everything was alright, but some days later trinity started to have graphics issues. sometimes it hangs and the display gets kind of scrambled, when i reset it it posssibly doesn't show anything on the screen or it hangs during the boot, sometimes it helps simply shutting the device down and restarting, sometimes it helps pressing the left side of the casing (front and back casing elements) together.
what can that be? at the moment it works alright, but this is not ok for me. somebody with hardware know-how can tell me which part can be the "bad one" and what i can do to fix that? i don't want to pay the repair fee at htc tech partner, and i want to wait till the htc touch cruise is available to buy a new one!
thanks

Hi, I did similar thing...I assembled my trinity to change case to white. After the LCD did not work at all.
Of course service said, I broked garantee, and there is some problem with LCD cable plug.
what did the repair cost?
did you go to HTC? did they change the display plug?
it's a very subtle error in my case...
How To Disassemble HTC P3600
I also want to change my casing.
From what I hear ... this may be not such a good idea.
Hoever ... all I can help with is this disassemble manual for HTC P3600 (http://rapidshare.com/files/82751326/How_To_Disassemble_HTC_P3600__Trinity_.pdf.html).
Maybe disassembling, cleaning all the plugs and assembling it again can help (sounds stupid ... but who knows).
thanks ..
one of the problems with the casing i bought was that the metal counterparts of the screws were not(!) present in the new one. so i had to cut them out of the old one, heat them and press them into the new case. luckily, i had ordered two new casings (to change it again after some months when the grey/silver paint would have fell off till total aesthetic destruction - of this otherwise really slick phone - again), because trying to press that counterpart (don't know the word) without heating resulted in total damage
then I had hoped that not only the keypad, but also the electronics plate under the keypad (my "hang up" button still isn't perfect i have no "klicky" feel any more) would be included. no luck here.
so everybody please stay away from trying to change casings or any other hardware issue with your htc phones. i am opening my htc/qtek (before: s100, three units) phones for a longer time now and must say i will stop doing that and return to being a "normal" user. it all gets worse
thanks
I just remembered ... take a look at this site: http://cnn.cn/shop/p3600-trinity-c-277_278.html
All the stuff looks genuine ... maybe this casing will fit you better and there are spare touch screens also.
P.S. White casing DOES NOT peel.

Lucky you ... there is HTC support where you live
my LCD screen broke.
I have replaced my LCD screen because it was cracked, the new screen does not even power up. I can hear wm6 running in the background but the digitizer nor the screen seem to be responding at all. If use the old screen it seems to work fine.
Any ideas or comments on how to get this new screen working?
btw, I have a gen1 htc p3600.

Need help with dead screen

Hi guys,
I need your help. Several days ago, I upgraded my Dopod 900 to Tomal latest ROM. everything works perfectly, even the battery last longer.
Anyway, today, I accidentally drop my Uni to my feet (from around 1 meters high). The screen turns white.
I tried soft reset and hard reset, still white screen.
But the PDA itself is okay because when I connected it to PC, I can browse the Uni without problems. I even can confirm the hard reset is succeded because I check with Jeyo Mobile Companion, contacts and SMS in my Uni already deleted (meaning the hard reset works fine).
What should I do?
Your LCD already damaged. Replace new LCD.
not broken connection or something?
To have a good veredict why don´t you read the user manual of the Uni, is located in the Wiki, that way you can check if it´s a connection or something else
Good luck,
It is possible that the connection is loose at the board level. You might have to re-attach, if that fails - replace the screen. Fairly straightforward procedure, but consult the Service Manual for correct disassembly steps, as there are some tricks involved, seen many cases broken because someone was not aware. Only the screen part needs to be opened, not the main body. Good luck.
ok, i'll try it. thanks guys.
i probably have to ask help from a technician though, since i'm not good at fixing electronic thing
ok, I downloaded the manual.
but since i'm no technician, i have to find one first, probably next week.
anyway, just to update the case.
It seems that not only the screen are turning white, the Yes/No Call button and the speaker are dead too. I called my Uni from other phone, connected successfully, but the Uni doesn't ring and the Yes Call button do nothing (the other phone still waiting the Uni to pickup the call).
So my diagnose for the time being is that the flexi-cable must've been broken somehow.
Hope I don't have to replace the LCD 'cause I don'y have enough money right now.
well, ended up brought my Dopod 900 to HTC/Dopod service center.
turns out the flexi cable unplugged. so i only need to pay service fee which is only $5.
I guess it's worth it, i mean, if i open the device myself, i would have spent the $5 to buy the necessery tools, not to mention that i'm not electrician and might damage my device in the process.

Problems with built in camera

Hello
First i would like to mention that i went thru wiki and the forum and i could not find a thread with similar problems.
The problem is in the built in camera (or in the user)
As soon as i turn on the camera to take a picture it doesnt work. On the display the icons are showing like the camera is ready but it is just dark display.
So i pressed the button to capture an image just to see how will the camera react. As i pressed the middle cursor button after some 20-30 second on the display appeared following lines:
Unable to save captured image
unable to get data from camera device.
36003:500:2
I must say that i have problems with the camera module from the very beginning. I was hoping that the latest flash with Tomals SW will improove the camera drivers but this was not the case. Maybe i have to install some additional drivers? I just cant get the bloody camera to work.
Anyone has some idea why my camera does not work?
Besize that my qtek is working just fine.
Thanks 4 the answers.
Best regards from Slowenia.
Peter

Try another ROM, just in case. Generally a factory ROM would give a good indication of whether there is a problem and eliminate other possibilities. So I would recommend flashing it just for your peace of mind.
As far as Tomal's ROM is concerned, provided your device is 128Mb and ROM functions as it should otherwise, one of the reasons for non-working camera is the module itself or the mainboard. Hopefully its the camera module, as they are relatively cheap and very easy to replace and no special knowledge is required, as well as minimal device intrusion, so you will be able to replace it yourself. I think i saw the camera module at some of my suppliers, let me check if still available, alternatively, a working second hand part can also be used, I might have one in my toy box somewhere.
Thank you so much. I will yet again update the rom and than i will report how it went. So if it doesnt work, i would be happy to purchase a camera module from you. Replacing it will not be a problem as i have no problem with the mechanics and electronics in general :-D:-D:-D
I also stumbled upon a DIY side in this forum, regarding the universal.
So which rom would you recommend me?
Thanks

Factory ROM is the ROM your device came with originally, out of the box.

WM 5... as Uni came in with WM 5.... so in my case JASJAR.. and T-Mobile rom... is factory default for my 2 uni....
That could be a problem.
i have been given the qtek 9000 by my boss as he bought himself a tuch diamond pro and he gave me the qtek becouse he knew that i was so enthused about it. :-D:-D
Sadly the PDa came without any CD so factory rom is out of question. He somehow lost the CD so all i had was the phone, the usb cable and the charging unit.
try the wiki first!
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Upgrades
Otherwise, someone may have it. (I've got SPV M5000 if you're interested)
The wiki has only the country or operator specific downloads. Since i`m from Slovenia there is no operator or SW for our operator on the list.
So i probably need an english version since the qtek in our country c<me only in english version.
Just get WWE for QTEK, or try other WWE ROMs. BUT make sure you have the Slovenian settings on a .CAB or check if they can be sent by your provider.
Peter V8, don't forget to update the wiki if you find what you were looking for... and it wasn't in the wiki. 30 people will (not) thank you, but appreciate it.
As soon as i find the problem i will update it to wiki no problem. If the camera is broken and it need to be replaced i will document the procedure with photos that i will take during the "operation".
Sadly my battery bloated a little bit (no chemical spill so far ) and i took it out of my qtek to protect it from damage. So now i am stuck with nokia N90 until the new Battery arrives that i ordered. So when i will have the new accu i will find the error that the camera is having and report it to wiki and forum.

A battery 'bloated a little bit' means it got wet, which might mean liquid damage to your device and the reason your camera might not work. Even if you replace the battery at this stage, if the main PCB got wet, it will corrode and your device will die, slowly, but surely.
I am fully aware of this problem, but the new battery bloated (i replaced it 3 months ago) and the camera doesnt work since i have the qtek (1,5 year). The little white paper stripe under the sim card holder didnt turn pink and also the battery isnt wett also the phone is not wett. Well we will see when i get the new battery. It is under warranty so if the battery damaged my beloved phone, the company that sold me the new battery 3 months ago will not get so easy of it. Here in Slovenia a well preserved qtek 9000 still costs arround 250-300 Euros.
A little update:
I bought myself a newer working qtek 9000 with partialy broken LCD for 30 Euros. So i placed the battery into my qtek and it works perfectly. Apart from that i am still waiting for my brand new battery to arrive from germany. So i fully charged the spare battery, did a DOC reset and flashed the qtek with Tomals ROM.
The camera however still doesnt work, so it is not a SW problem. Since i have bought the broken qtek 9000 for spare parts, i will take the camera out and replace it. So probably this weekend i will do the "service" and i will take pictures of the procedure and update the forum.
Peter V8 I also face a similar problem since my 2 days Ebay bought 02 Xda Exec's camera is full of white, red, green dots either in photo or video mode. Changing roms didn't help at all and its truly a pity since the phone seems like it came straight from the factory, although used. My dilemma is either paying about 20 Euros to ship it back or waiting for your endeavor to complete but since I overall truly like the phone I will wait and see

There is really no procedure worthy of taking pictures, once you remove the back, remove the large white antenna part and you will see where camera clips in. It's a fairly straightforward flex clip connection.
Little update again.
As i mentioned earlyer, i have bought myself another spare parts uni with broken tft. Ok so first.....i took apart both unis (didnt took no pictures becouse the pdf DIY to disassemble and assemble the UNi is more than helpfull, so you have to be a complete non technical type of human, or you have cerebrall palsy, or you must be a dee tii deee to not understand or grasp how it is made) and puted the tft from my uni in to the spare part uni. It worked perfectly and it had WM 5,0 the original. So the camera worked , everything worked-sim card....everything. So yesterday i flashed the uni with Tomals last ROM (Tommal the rom is working perfectly on my other uni so the SW is just fine) And somehow the uni had problems to work when my SIM card was inserted. So i removed the sim card and the uni worked perfectly. I dont know wath the problem is (probably a sim lock or somethin, but odd enough it worked with WM 5,0) so as the forum was down yesterday, i just dissasembled both unis again, putted the tft back in to my uni and putted the camera which worked just fine in the spare parts uni, in to my uni. And guess what.............the camera is still not working. I have done the hardreset but still.........even as i replaced the camera i still have the mesage......unable to get data from camera bla bla bla.....error 36003:500:2
So there might be a problem with some drivers or something in that way. I am pretty on the end with my knowledge now. How can i find the erorr or the couse of it???
If someone knows i would be very happy uni user :-D
So the problem is still not solved. Otherwise the uni is working perfectly only the camera gives me hard time.
Best regards
Peter
