Does anyone else have this problem?
When I have my phone volume set to (anything) and my system volume set to (zero) the phone only rings once- no matter what the ring setting...
T-Mob WM2003 official release
radio 6.25.02
I had the same issue with the official AT&T WM2003 release.
I guess I could live with it by just setting the system volume to 1 click above zero, but why should I have to?
Any ideas?
Hi all,
Before I say anything, I am using the 2.17 ROM. When talking to people I cannot adjust the call volume. Its always set to max no matter what I do with the volume slider or the volume icon on screen. It's so loud that the speaker gets distorted. I am afraid if it stays this way either my speaker will blow or I'll go deaf!
Any suggestions out there as to why this is?
Thanks.
What device do you have? I gather thats a qtek rom. But we can help you more if we know if its a cingular/vario/imate etc... You may need to try the native rom to see if its a software or hardware problem.
Are you sure you're adjusting the volume while you are talking? In-call volume can only be adjusted in the middle of a call. (This may seem obvious but I only realised this recently )
I wish I had your problem...
Mine is the exact opposite!
My in-call slider does nothing. Sure, it moves up and down, (and yes, during a call) but it does not change the volume @ all!
Mine is stuck on 'almost inaudible' so i can barely hear anyone.
Tried 2.24 cooked T-mobile ROM, (that's when it started) and mr clean's rom hoping that would fix it...
No luck.
Anyone?
I have the same problem with my HTC 8125 by cingular with WM 6.1 (Newbie's ROM IPL 2.25 - SPL 2.25 - GSM 02.69.11).
Please, if you know how to help out, or have had this or a similar problem let me know what to do.
I have an unbranded HTC p3600. Upgraded it with Dopod Official ROM+radio 1.38.
Now it has:
ROM version: 1.23.707.6
ROM date: 02/08/07
Radio version: 1.38.00.11
Protocol version: 32.71.7020.12H
My problem is: almost every time I speak on the phone there are random 5-10seconds 'blank periods' when I can no longer hear what the other person is saying. They don't notice anything, but I cannot hear them talking. There is absolutely no sound coming from the phone. Then, the conversation resumes as if nothing happened.
Also I cannot end the phonecall until the sound comes back. The call timer is running but if I press the 'end' button or the red physical button the conmversation is not ended until the sound resumes.
Last but not least: when gps is on phone loses signal quite often.
Anybody else encountered these problems? Any idea/suggestions?
Thx
I have a G4 prophet (Orange UK) which I have had for about 3 years now. Over time I have upgraded the ROM and so on and noticed an annoying bug that would tend to develop over a period of time using the phone.
My speaker will turn off until I restart the phone due to a number of things:
1. Just using having the phone on for 2-3 days.
2. Sometimes randomly dialling a number with the keypad.
3. Doing some kind of command that will make a sound, i.e. screen tap or play music.
I know the speaker isn't broken since I can get the sound back immediately if I restart the phone. It also isn't a problem with the headphone jack since I have tried fiddling with the jack and I can still hear through the earpiece. Another weird thing is that I can put the phone on speaker phone whilst making a call and it comes through the speaker!?! This is really annoying since any alarm becomes silent and I often miss calls!
I have tried numerous hard resets and it still presents itself either after a few minutes or hours of using the phone.
Could it be a problem with the ROM (I have tried many other ROMs) or radio?
ROM OS 20.5.61.33 WWE
Radio/GSM 02.19.21
Protocol 4.1.13.09
SPL 2.g4.4pda
IPL 2.10.0001
Thanks, P
I can now easily reproduce the problem:
1. enter the phone dialler and keep on pressing numbers (about 30-40 times) until the keypad tone stops sounding.
From this point onwards only a reset will bring back the system sounds (keypad tones, alarm, ring tone, tap sounds etc...)
What is strange is that the speaker will still work to play music or use the speaker phone during a call.
This is driving me crazy!
[edit]
I've tested this about 10 times now and i need between 50-52 key presses before the sound turns off!
a Possible Solution
This may solve your problem without resetting every time the sound stops.
Open Start Menu
Open Settings
Open Phone (in Personal tab)
Just click OK now (to close this window)
Check the sound.
Works for me
Ever since I purchased my HD2 (Telstra) in February, I have had a problem where the ring volume intermittently switches off and I cannot hear incoming calls. At some stage after with no attempted fix, another call comes through and the phone rings fine at the volume I have set. The problem doesn't seem to be attached to certain callers, it seems to do it at times no matter who calls.
The phone actually rings (albiet silently) when the problem occurs as I see the phone go to the incoming caller screen, but there is no ring volume. When I check the volume of the ring tone on the phone after the call it is still set to a bit under half way.
I have the original Telstra ROM installed. haven't tried the new one yet.
Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution? I don't want to go to all of the effort to reinstall everything just to find out that the problem still occurs.
Thanks.
Same here!
I have the US version but have had this issue with both the stock US rom as well as the offical update they just posted.
A soft reset fixes it, but its totally random and is a major pain in the ass.
Any tips? Please help!
i have the same exact problem with my leo.
does someone have a resolution for this?
Me too!
Glad to know it's not just my HD2 that has this issue. I run the UK stock ROM and have suffered with this since I first got the phone! Most of the time it's fine, just every now and again goes quiet and I miss a call... I have even had the ringtone start loud, and then fade out. Would love to know if there is a fix for this......
Hi boys,
i've a similar issue with my Acer S200 with Manila ROM (OS version 5.2.23123, Manila version 2.5.20153712.0).
In a randomic way, suddenly the ringtone volume goes zero. I have usually ringtone+vibration, and vibration disappear too, together with ringtone....!
So with a new call, i can see the "incoming call" sceen but no sound and no vibration alert me...
With a soft reset i can solve, but i cannot understand what is the condition that triggers this problem....

mine don't have this
Erm.. try this
Settings > Sound & Display > look for "Single Volume" and turn it OFF.
whenever I press the volume key it has the option to switch between System & Ring Volume Level.
Hope it helps!
nothing helped.. performed a hard reset, now the problem is gone
No ring volume
try this: HKLM\Software\HTC\VolumeOverlay --> Set "Default Page" to 0
It works on my T-Mobile hd2
